  1. Hi, this is a great thread. Some excellent suggestions. My group plays online using Roll20 (our player live in both coasts of Florida, one in Chicago and one in California). We have been using a system based on Shadowrun. each character rolls their Speed in dice (adding any lightning reflexes they might have) and that number determines when they go. Then we subtract 10 from their number to determine if they go a second time (or a third, or fourth). Example: player has Speed 6 and rolls 23. He has +3 lightning reflexes so the number becomes 26. They have an action on 26 - 16 - and 6. It's added a real random element, which has been fun, but a lot of paper work for the GM (that's me). The random element is really important to me. Having played Hero games for more than 25 years (on and off), the Speed chart is too predictable. However, I love the idea of randomizing the segments with a 12 die roll in each segment.

    Mirror Master

Hello, Anyone take a crack at Mirror Master, the DC Comics Rogue character (the Flash villain)? I'm making a villain team based on the Rogues and this one is the most challenging to me. I figure he has duplication or images. An entangle (trapping people in mirrors). Any other thoughts? Thanks for any help. wlg

    Amazing Darkon

Whoa! That is cool...very different look than the original published costume, yeah? Or maybe I remember it wrong
  8. Hi, I'm looking for some images of the character Amazing Darkon. He's from way back and I remember he had a cardboard headpiece...I'm putting together sort of a reunion game for my players (we haven't played in a while), dusting off our old characters. I recall that one of the heroes absolutely hated Darkon so naturally I want him in the game. Thanks for any help. wlg
  9. Re: A new Enemies book: What would you want to see? Hello, Zodiac types for sure. More bad guys with minions - as an example: Mr Freeze always has his henchmen. Not a Dr Destroyer level villain, but a regular villain and his minions. Hawkfu
  10. Hi, I'm thinking about the classic X-Men Danger Room scenes or their outdoor training games they played against each other... any suggestions for training style exercises for player characters that actually helps build skills and teamwork? Thank you for any help! wlg
  11. Re: Help - Criminal Organization Hey, thanks everybody - these are great suggestions! I really appreciate it. I really like The Web and the Strand...still deciding...The Heroes Community rocks. hawkfu
  12. Hi. I wanted to create a villain organization, like a Viper or Hydra, with a spider theme. I am having a heck of a time coming up with a name - any ideas? Thanks! Hawkfu
  13. Re: HERO System Martial Arts Thanks for the attention. Under 6E ED rule books there is a listing for the book, the PDF, and the bundle book + PDF - I don't see any hero designer listed. Searching Hero Designer I only see the old book listed. wlg
  14. Re: HERO System Martial Arts Sorry if I missed this posted some where else, but any idea when HERO System Martial Arts will be released in Hero Designer format? Thanks. wlg
  15. Re: Book Of The Machine Available Hello, I received the book yesterday - it looks beautiful! I love the design of the book and I can't wait to dig into the (considerable) content. The art is fantastic too. Thanks!
  16. Re: Modern Island of Dr. Destroyer wow, that's great. Seriously, thanks for sharing that!
  17. Re: Modern Island of Dr. Destroyer Absolutely!
  18. Hi, I'm starting a new game. A UN super team kind of set up. I wanted to weave in and update stuff from previous games - mix the new with the familiar (presented in a new way). That got me thinking about the Island of Dr. Destroyer - which got me thinking about Cobra Island from G. I. Joe. I thought combining those ideas would be a pretty cool idea. I'm trying to figure out what kind of legal mumbo jumbo to throw at them to make the Island legal at the end of the adventure - ala Cobra Island. Any thoughts on how to handle this type of thing? Thanks for reading. wlg
  19. Re: looking for Wolverine pic That is the one! That's great - thanks so much! wlg
  20. Hi, I was wondering if anyone here can help. I'm trying to find a picture of Wolverine - it's a redesign pic done by Alex Ross - but I can't remember what it was for. It's basically black - one hand he has a cigar, the other has extended claws. It was a really sharp pic but a google search turn up nothing. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Thanks, wlg
  21. Re: Double The Hero Excitement! okay, thanks! huh. I hope it's cool. wlg
  22. Re: Double The Hero Excitement! er...so what's the second announcement? wlg
  23. Hi, Anyone play Hero (or other type of game) online using rpg software? I have several firends scattered across the US who wants to get toegther to play but we don't know how we can manage it. Can anyone else doing this recommend tools to use, or can anyone point me the right direction? Thanks. wlg
  24. Re: GM style Question Thanks everybody for your comments and suggestions! wlg
  25. I had a thought and I wanted to get feedback on it. The set up: I am running a mini-campaign with about 4 players in the near future. It's a long gaming weekend - 4 session long campaign. I was thinking of something inspired by Heroes the NBC show - normal folks who discover they have some extraordinary ability and a destiny to use them to save mankind. The thought: I was thinking of how I would want to run this idea and I had a thought. What if I withheld their character sheet from them? Instead of giving them a character sheet, I give them a summary of their character with descriptions of their strengths and flaws and so on - but no stats. They get the concept but not the numbers. As the GM I have the numbers and when they attempt stuff I let them know what they need to roll and all that. Would this be a cool way of playing out characters who don't know exactly what they are capable of? What do you think? wlg
