  1. That sounds interesting. I don't plan on getting the old Cyber HERO book, planning on getting the official one when it gets released. 2006, that is a long time to wait, so Kazei 5 sounds like a good book to get right now.
  2. Hi Steve, just a quick question to throw at you for a character idea I have. Can a person have the Danger Sense talent and the Accidental Change disadvantage linked to the Danger Sense? To help here is the character idea: He's a young 18 yr old that has the ability to change to a alternate being of immense power, and at the start of the game he can only change when his danger sense goes off and its out of his control. Of course with EXP he plans on buying this disadvantage off so he learns to control the change, but how would linking this disadvantage to the talent work? On a side note, what do you think of the character idea? This is my first character I am trying to create.
  3. I was wondering if there are any plans on a release for an upcoming Cyber Hero sourcebook, or if anybody knows if any of the older versions can be found, where at? Or, has anybody designed their own custom cybernetics and is there a good website where some can be found? Any help would be great and I thank you in advance.
  4. I think its cool that herogames and DOJ are willing to allow people to create books and license it through them like the Kandris Seal. I plan on purchasing the book in late March when I get more money and from what I read it sounds really interesting. Now I have to go to work on a really good Space Opera setting for my own to publish. This will be fun.
  5. change the name I know this is a drag, but to avoid any possible repercusions from KS at Palladium perhaps it would be wise to change the names of a few things, if only to avoid legal action. I am sure if he got wind of this discussion he would charge in and demand it stopped immediately, and I love the conversions so far presented. That said, I hvae a quesiton: Why would it be bad to use the EC for racial packages/class packages? It makes sense to me, and it doesn't specify in the rules that they can't be done, right??? or I might have missed that when I read them last night, but then there is the almighty rule in the back...if something gets in the way of how something else works, either change it or do away with it... so take that into consideration also.

  8. Can you link a disadvantage to a talent in that manner as suggested above with Danger Sense and Accidental Change?

The guy with the amulet is kinda like this...he's normal and when he senses (or perhaps there is danger that he cannot sense within his vicinity), he feels himself changing and then baaam, he changes. Personality changes somewhat in the fact that he feels the need to fight the danger but for some reason he doesn't know why; totally different physical characteristics and powers. Basically, he's normal, excpet sometimes its like he feels strange things and its usually because of some kind of danger near him...then he changes. For the guyver example, that was easy. Thanks. And I did mean multiform in the example, not multipower.
  11. Besides the Hero Resource Kit that comes with the GM shield, are there any really good character sheets out there and/or Power Design Sheets that some people may have created to ease the burden for newbies with this system?
  12. Hi to all, I am new to these boards and new to HERO as I just got it about three weeks ago and I am so glad to be done with that 'other' game I spent so much time playing. Ok, after practically reading the book a time or two, some things I totally understand, and some things I don't. The things I don't really understand come from the fact that there seems to be multiple ways to handle it, and I want to get it right for the right feel. Plus, these characters I am making just to get used to the system. One character is somebody I am basing from the Guyver movies (if you have seen them, you know what I mean). The guy is basically normal except for the times he has 'called forth' his bio-armor, in which he gets enhanced characteristics, leaping, running, and claws/blades. I can see this being either a OIF or OIHID as for the power limitations. The other one is probably more interesting and more complicated. This is a young guy in his late teens, just turning 18. On his bday he received a package from a relative he never heard of, and that night he had strange dreams. He opened the package and there is an amulet, and when he put it on he found that he could transform into a more powerful being (this is kinda like Thor from Marvel in a way). For this guy, I want to keep it where his practical knowledge and skills are the same, but obviously his powers are drastically different. My confusion is if this should be a Multipower, a OIHID, or some kind of focus but I don't want to take the chance of him losing the amulet (maybe it forged with him or something, but if there was the possible chance of losing it, then it would lead to decent roleplaying possibilities). Any suggestions from any of you? I thank you in advance for any advice you may have. Oh, and some newbie questions I am sure many of you have answered in the past: a) how have you all done VPP or Multipower frameworks? what general advice could you all give me? Anything helpful would be great.
