  2. Re: [Retro] COTN 5th edition proposal I really like Wuala (even though they've discontinued my favorite feature, sharing local HDD space to get more in the cloud), and one huge advantage is that you actually locally encrypt everything before it uploads to the cloud, so they can't even see what it is. If people are concerned with privacy for corporate or personal reasons.
  3. Re: Creepy Pics. This makes a lot of sense, but also makes me want to cry... (here because it isn't really "neat" or "funny")(spoilered for length)
  4. Re: "Neat" Pictures Ooo, I like that idea. Was there already something like that for Grond in a source book? Or am I thinking of a campaign log around here somewhere? hmm...
  5. Re: "Neat" Pictures Awesome cupcakes!
  6. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Just saw "Super 8" last night. Pretty solid movie, though I didn't really get into the movie until almost half way through.
  7. Re: "Neat" Pictures Um. Which one? Watson? Crick? Rosalind Franklin? I haven't found any information linking any of them to a pro-Creationism group, and Crick actively spoke out against young earth creationism in Edwards v. Aguillard.
  8. Re: What if there are no super-prisons? I'd say the government would be very interested in these mirror cells, want some of their own, and want to have this alien transferred into these mirror cells that they control. Unless Supernal was a U.S. law enforcement officer, in which case they would still probably want a human guard on those cells 24/7.
  9. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares 300 Amigos
  10. Re: Ratios of Superpower Archetypes I mainly started it so that I had a reason for the heroes to wade through mook bricks. There are just more of them, so they're cheap. I didn't actually limit the heroes by making them pay more to be a mentalist, or say they couldn't be a combo, it was just a campaign world quirk. I started thinking it over and considered fiddling with ratios based on 1st world/3rd world, or African versus Asian background, but haven't written anything up on it.
  11. Re: Ratios of Superpower Archetypes I'm also fond of bricks, and use them a lot, but I rationalize it in game as being the most common expression of the human genome. I have physical powers in general (strength/leaping, durability, regeneration, speed, wings/horns/tails, or combo thereof) be two to three times as common as super smarts, which is about twice as common as actual telepathy/telekinesis/teleportation. I also have actual, wingless flight fall under a form of telekinesis.
  12. For those who built their own campaign worlds, have you given thought to the ratios of various archetypes? Will certain cultures or technologies encourage bricks versus mentalists versus blasters, etc.?
  13. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... Masseuse and acupuncturist -- all in one!

  15. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) Great, I come here to write about my little dream, and have to follow THAT? *grumble* Anyway, I was in a bar with my wife and some friends, when I spot an old high school friend. I didn't know he was in town, so I go over to catch up. Turns out, he has just been hopping on random Greyhound buses to experience the U.S., and doesn't have a cell phone, so when he ended up in my town he couldn't give me a call. We catch up, but edge away from everyone else so we can *really* catch up, and we don't want everyone to know that we are actually immortal Egyptian mummies, both about three thousand years old, so we had centuries to catch up on. Most mummies were just nearly brainless, undead guardians, but we had both been embalmed with a special process that left our brains intact and had wandered the Earth since gathering knowledge. In my dream, all my real-life close high school friends were actually info gathering mummies gathering knowledge and monitoring humanity for some purpose.
  16. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) Only fragments, but I seemed to be living in a clifftown on an immensely tall tower of rock. You most commonly got from clifftown to clifftown by paths hewn into the cliffs, or could use the sketchy tunnels and risk encountering...something. Or you could use the "express" in the hollow core of the tower. Operated by gypsy type folks, they were sort of like hot air ballons with collapsible parachutes. Close the chute, and free fall down the tower. Open the chute, and an eternal updraft caught the basket and rocketed up the tower. But it was pitch black. The gypsies had some way to see, but didn't share, so the entire trip was done blind.
  17. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I'd love some apples. Unfortunately, I'm no where near you.
  18. Re: "Neat" Pictures Interesting idea. (spoilered for size)
  19. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) I thought of that after I woke up. That would have been rather creepy... As it was, it was a little weird. I am a very modest guy, but I didn't care in the dream that there were folks around, I was helping her and didn't give a flying fig what others thought.
  20. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... "Sooo...whatcha takin' pictures of?"
  21. Re: "Neat" Pictures I will own this, and I will call it...my beach.
