  1. Re: Order of the Stick Heh. But if she's serious about wanting to role-play a total pacifist, pack wands of Polymorph Other or Sleep or Hold Person. Or Tanglefoot bags. Dunno if there's a D&D equivalent of the mini-Cyclone spell or Entangling Roots that WoW Druids can cast, but there's another option. Boom. Sentient mook challenges are overcome without betraying your pacifist principles (ergo XP gained without killing) and without being a detriment to the rest of the group.
  2. Re: Order of the Stick If she survives this, maybe she'll consider investing in better Crowd Control spells/defenses.
  3. Re: Help! Need a name! Kudzu
  4. Re: Order of the Stick So, meanwhile is this a case of Lawful Stupid or Stupid Good for Celia?
  5. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?" On it...
  6. Re: Order of the Stick And #614 is up!
  7. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?" Good citizens don't necro threads.
  8. Re: "Es lebe die Freiheit!"- German Resistance Champions If this got expanded to characters from other European countries under Nazi occupation, I'd be tempted to base a hero off this fella... Voytek the Soldier Bear
  9. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Week before Thanksgiving, we visited my husband's folks and I got drafted into making the Big Meal. My father-in-law loves to eat. So, on the improvised wannabe Italian menu we had potato & veal lasagna, grilled orange-ginger scallop green onion & bell pepper skewers and bloody Mary mussels. In three weeks, I'm going to be asked to make another such meal. This time we're going for Portuguese. Baked Chicken w/Onion Sauce Clams w/Potatoes & Chorizo Little Fish of the Garden (pan-fried green beans) Orange Squares Chocolate Gingerbread
  10. Re: "Es lebe die Freiheit!"- German Resistance Champions If I recall correctly, that was part of Hellboy's origin, right?
  11. Re: "Es lebe die Freiheit!"- German Resistance Champions One of my favorite campaigns was a WW2 Golden Age Champions game. Course, we ran it with North American heroes (I was the token Canadian) dealing with Axis saboteurs in North America & stopping Nazis hunting for occult artifacts. It'd be interesting seeing it from the German resistance POV. Would you want the character as all German resistance members?
  12. Re: Order of the Stick He's already got the "If there are any girls I wanna DO them!" bit down pat...
  13. Re: Order of the Stick Me, I'm wondering if our nameless priest of Loki is going to survive the thieves and Belkar only to be taken out by a certain dwarven cleric of Thor...
  14. Re: Order of the Stick Well, as the trope goes "Redemption Equals Death" and we know that supposedly Belkar better savor his next birthday cake...
  15. Re: Order of the Stick So, does Mr. Scruffy now count as Belkar's animal companion?
  16. Re: Not enraged, just loves a good fight? Psych Lim: Lack of Impulse Control maybe?
  17. Re: Order of the Stick #608 is up!
  18. Re: "Uh ... you can *do* that?" This is something that I forgot I could do, but in a different way. My very first Champions game, I'm running Osprey, a metamorph who could turn into a winged form with claws and a sonic scream. The GM has me going up against an air elementalist, who's got a double knockback wind blast. I end up taking out the elementalist and afterwards, the GM and other players complimented me on the fact that as a newbie, I had the good sense to actually pick up the tactic of not flying around the air elementalist. I blink. I forgot my character could fly.
  19. Re: Order of the Stick I wonder what will happen if/when the rest of the OotS reads this world's version of the Geek Social Fallacies though...
  20. Re: Unworkable Premises for a Campaign So tempted to create a character...must resist the call!
  21. Re: Order of the Stick The frightening thing is, I know people who follow that particular enlightenment...
  22. Re: Unworkable Premises for a Campaign Definitely depends on how well you trust your players and vice versa for long term campaigns, but I could definitely see this for a convention one-shot in terms of FTF as well. I ran a 7th Sea game at Origins that had all the characters be women. No one at the table had a problem with it. Ah, Caligari's Angels...
  23. Re: Order of the Stick Still, if V truly does go down the slippery slope him/herself, where will that leave Belkar? A fight to the death between the two as the lesser of two evils? A partnership? More importantly, where will that leave the OotS if two of its members become/stay willfully evil?
  24. Re: Order of the Stick The Beloved Husband and I are fully in the camp that any attempts at atonement/redemption on Belkar's part will be met with subversion &/or lampshade hanging.
  25. Re: Unworkable Premises for a Campaign Now THERE'S an Elseworld waiting to happen...or maybe a Vertigo one-shot.
