Re: End Of Year Blowout Sale! Well I finally got my order that I placed back on 12/17 - then processed on 12/20 and went through the UPS postal Snail hands....LOL. I got it today 1/2. I am so happy to get my books, and this time I ordered: Cops, Crews, And Cabals Invaders from Below Hero System Vehicle Sourcebook The Ulitmate Martial Artist - Damaged And for my Tina selected freebie: DYS Utopia - adventure For me all freebies are awesome and very well recieved. This time arround I got all books that I did not already have, now I only have a few books left that I don't already have. Plus I am awaiting for Stronghold to come out before my next purchase. Re: Dark Seekers (generic) Well I have had a chance to look at these extremely deadly foes and I like them. They should be extremely deadly. It is my belief that if these are the major nasty in any PAH campaign, then make the PC's a 100 pt character with up to 75 pts disadvantages...makes the PC's a tad bit nasty! Penn

Well what I am doing is the players are based out of a country called Jhorgule, and it has it's own language that has it's roots in Ancient Toshika(located due west), Dwarven (it sits on the location of a ancient Dwarven Kingdome of Nargowin), Mirrior (located just North/West of the region) and Ranth (North of the region) too. It shares elements with all of those languages, and it is a Human country that has a 1200 yr history. Penn

Re: Space 1999 aka Space 2099 I have thought about that as well, and yes there are some rather large asteroids in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupitor(almost the size of small moons). We could say that the said asteroid were Alpha Base was locted was on a huge deposits of multiple resources. I was thinking that the "colony" called Alpha Base could be like 25,000 pop and have many different facilities and etc. Now as to how the asteroid leave earth's system, say that they were testing a new drive system...maybe a kinda FOLD Jump drive system. Maybe the first attempt at using the drive, it by accident took the whole asteroid into Fold Space and transported them to some unknown part of the galaxy and can't find their way home. Since there is a large Scientific research station also located on base, they are able to figure out how to make small controlled "Folds" to different systems and etc. They just need to figure out where Earth's system is to where they are in space. Re: Glassy Mars I tell ya...my thoughts on NASA and the space program are slightly different that my older sons views. I would advised my sons to do well in school, get involved in all sorts of activities and get into either the Naval or Air Force Academy. Then study to become some engineer and become a pilot. Then try for the Astronaught program. Something tells me that might be the way for my younger son, but my older son ( the 13 yr old that plays Hero's) is more of a true scientist egg. His approach will be the scholar one I can see now. I will support what ever they want to do, but am glad that they at least share my interest in space and what is "Out There". Space is mankind's future and I believe we will be out there one day! Penn:dyn

Re: Language? You know in the issue of languages with my own campaign, I have multiple human languages and some are based closely off others. Example: Ancient Toshika Empire - vast human empire of great age Toshika Common - modern spoken and written language Murrian - ancient language still used buy the Witch King and his people Ranthion - ancient language of a Mage country Jhorgule - language based on cross of Toshika, Murrian, Dwarven Dwarven - dwarven language Fae - all farie folk speak the same language Algerrec - language of the great desert empire Trade Common - common trade language(humans/dwarves) Areon - humans of the far south Dark Tongue - spoken by Orcs, Goblins, Hob Goblins, Kobalds, Knolls and such Trollic - Troll language, very ancient but simular to Ancient Toshikian Just to name a few, Penn

Re: [Character] Gorilla the Ogre I know you have him set up as a Ogre, but in my own campaign he fits the mold for a Norse Troll (race) and I would make him a Troll instead of a Ogre. Penn

Re: Glassy Mars I too can only hope that I am able to influence my own children whom are 8 and 13, and interested in math/science and space, to maybe guide them toward careers in the direction of the space program. It would be a dream if they could be apart of the space program and etc, but I will be happy with what ever they do regardless. Yes I hope too, that the flights to Mars are a total success! Penn

Hello everyone, Ok based of the other two Space 1999 threads I feal that this could be a awesome PAH and Star Hero/Traveller Hero campaign mixed genre. Now as I stated I would love to see a Space 1999 Hero but I feel it should be renamed to Space 2099 and set in the era. The projected tech of the show would most likely come about by 2099 and it could fit most nicely being that we are just about to start 2008. So I would also set the show not on Earth's Moon (Luna) but instead on one of the Asteriods in the great belt between Mars and Jupitor. One could set up moon base Alpha and have a much larger self sufficiency colony that was a mining and raw materials processing location with some minor manufacturing going on as well. Also the low gravity could be a ship yard of sorts for building and repair of space craft for use in the outer solar system. They could have Eagles, Mark IX Hawks, Supper Swifts, and Long Range Probes, as well as staging areas for exploration launch missions. I would have some accident happen that maybe caused this smaller asteroid to leave it's orbit and maybe fall through a temporary wormhole to an unknown location and thus be "Lost In Space". Penn

Re: Possible explanation for PAH scenario With anything there are always possibilities and although this looks like it could be a great resource for Japan, I bet something bad happens that causes great issues for them at least. Being that they are in a Great Earth Quake region, the chances of a issue happening to cause a accident are greatly increased. Penn

Re: What about a Space 1999 Hero Yes UFO came before Space 1999, AND it was the same special effects (model making company) that did both shows. Now UFO was a early 70's show I do believe, and Space 1999 was late 70's..might have been 1977. If they redid the show they would need to rename is Space 2099, and if it was set in that time it's tech would fit with current projected tech. Penn PS: I would love to see the show done in Hero System.

Re: Glassy Mars Well all I can hope fore in my lifetime, is that I live long enough (I'm currently 43) to see mankind return to the moon and mankind walk on Mars. If that all happens in lets say the next 30 yrs, I will be 73 by then. They say your lifespan is a average of your mother's and father's. Mom was 88 and dad was 76 when they both passed away, so I can only hope I make it to at least 76 yrs old! Penn

Re: [Character] Gorilla the Ogre Very nice NPC! Now in my own fantasy campaign one of the rare races are Trolls. I use the Trolls based off the Norse type and not the D&D type. I could see using this fellow in my own campaign...! Nicely done guys! Penn
