  1. Re: Characters Pictures Well you said you are a good graphic designer. You said you can't create people but can you edit the CoX image to get it closer to what you want? There probably isn't going to be a 1 step easy solution out there.
  2. Re: Simple Falcon/ Bird of Prey I did give it a shot, I had one at 90+30dis but it didn't feel right. Somthing about a 120 point falcon seamed very wrong. I will keep trying.
  3. I need a stardard Falcon/Bird of Prey, thats it. Nothing fancy the one straight out of HERO System Bestiary is fine with me.
  4. Re: Characters Pictures Some of the players in My group make a new CoH/CoV chacter with the costume they want and take a screen shot of them.
  5. Re: Psi Mistress I really like it. I love the visable effects on the powers, make them a bit more like the CoH Mentalists. The only thing I worry about is a DCV 5 and only 6 PD/ED none of which is resistant would be instant goo in the game I play in. Depending on your game I hope it's enough.
  6. Re: Invisibility Questions Thanks for the help and suggestions. I got the character where I wanted him and sent the file to my GM. He said it was a good build........but not for the Champions game we are playing. “Not enough damage capacity and way too squishy”. He has put the character into a vat of steroids to see if we can’t boost his abilities a bit.
  7. Re: What are "vitals" My GM treats it the same way as we do "Floating Through Armor Crits" in BattleTech. We re-roll the location and call it someting vital in the the new location.
  8. Re: Invisibility Questions I used the Altair character I found on Surbook's site so I have most of that stuff already. I could play it exactly as I found it but I was trying to change the "feel" to be more like my assassin from 10 years ago with different Limitations and equipment. I am also thinking of using it as the base for my Matrix Ghost Twin just adding Desolid and taking away some of the blades and buying machine guns. It looks like a good build (but what do I know) Attached: Altiar from Surbook’s site, no changes.

  10. Re: Invisibility Questions I have been playing Assassin's Creed. I had an assassin I build 10 years ago for another system that was a lot like Altiar. Made me really want to try to transfer him into hero.

  12. Re: Invisibility Questions Maybe I shouldn't have added BTech references in a non-BTech thread. I will try to keep relevant jargon only from now on. Well if the "Only When Not Attacking " is going to give me problems I will trade it for something else to limit it's effectiveness. I want to try to stay invisible to everyone I did not attack. But still want some Limitations on it. Maybe restricting to Half Move and other offensive actions. I had not set the EC SFX yet. I am still fairly early in the character creation and will remember that the SFX I choose will affect the Running and Leaping. I would like to keep it Invisibility. In our game Detect Minds is not uncommon with and there will be a few enemies with Mental as a Targeting Sense. So some really strong minds will still be able to attack no problem.
  13. Re: Invisibility Questions Well no it's not the reason for the limitation. Since I was so far off on the understanding of the rules I am probably far off on the Invisibility build. Let me tell you what I am going for. A character from a d2o game I played 10 years ago had this Amulet that sort of made him Invisible. He could be seen but you couldn't really focus on him and he went mainly ignored. The best examples of it are rather recent. In the new Doctor Who when they wore the Tardis key they it gave them the "they were there but not really" effect. As long as my character made no overtly offence actions he could not be "seen". If he used stealth and could conceal his actions with his or the targets body he could stab them and disappear into a crowd without being noticed (think Atlair from Assassin's Creed). Its hiding in plain sight or a form a super stealth.
  14. Re: Move or Shoot Weapon I am just starting to get into Hero. The fact there are so many ways to build something is what I like the most, but it is causing the most problems for me. I am going with the Full Phase option. The effect I am looking for is the weapon requires an extra half-second or so to charge before it is fired. And I don't want to be able to move while the weapon is charging.
  15. I am trying to make an Assassin character. I have a few questions I think I am doing it right but need to make sure since I am new to the system. I bought Invisibility: Invisibility to Sight Group, Requires Stealth Roll (No Active Point penalty to Skill Roll; +0), Costs END Only To Activate (+1/4) (25 Active Points); Only When Not Attacking (-1/2), IAF (Concealed Amulet; -1/2) To take advantage of the cost savings (plus it fit the concept) I bought extra Running and Leaping as Power Slots in an EC. Let me see if I got this right: If I use my base Characteristic Running or Leaping it will not break Invisibility, but if I use the Running and Leaping from the Power it will from the Visible Power Effects rule, Quiaff? So to remain Invisible I will need to buy Invisible Power Effects or move the points to the base characteristic. I also have an IIF Concealed Wrist Blade. Since it is already Inobvious I will not need to buy the No Visible Power Effect advantage to use it and stay Invisible, Quiaff?
  16. I am very new to the system. I am not sure how to make a weapon you can't shoot if you have moved. How would you do it?
  17. Re: New to Hero When my gaming informed me informed me that we were switching from BattleTech to a Hero 5r game I was worried. I had never played or watched a h5r game. The only time I had even seen the core book was on YouTube where kids were testing to see if it really could stop a bullet. Over the last several months I have been tinkering with a character (6 major revisions and maybe 10 minor) I found a character that would work for me. I really like how there are so many ways to build something in this game. And how the same power with the same advantages and limitations can have totally different feels just by altering the special effect.

It a post apocalyptic modern with the staring heroes pulled from other dimensions so they can be just about anything you want. We have comic book and City of Hero characters, the liquid metal Terminator, A B5 psy-cop and a Techno-Mage. Mine is a Spartan mk IV pulled from a time about 60 years after the end of Halo 3. Just the 2 LY/wk just seamed a bit slow. But nothing says I can't increase that speed in my game. I am only going for the "spirt" of Halo.

My gaming group is switching over from BattleTech to a Hero 5th edition game. I am using Halo as a base for my characters and the GM in incorporating a few things into his campaign. The FTL speeds on the spacecrafts seams a bit low. What source did you use to set the speed or did you just pick something?
