  1. One of the sports radio teams I listen too asked the question what position makes the most difference - Hockey Goalie, Baseball starting pitcher or Quarterback. It was actually a trick question as he was making a point of how good LeBron is and how he is basically taking a team to the finals on his own.

My answer was Hockey Goalie when he is great, Pitcher when he is bad.

  2. Something occurred to me. I wonder if the black goo, which people say isn't the Graviton goo, might not be powered by one of the remaining Infinity Gems (I am guessing soul, as that would give a storyline about Gemma's being upset about the death of certain agents).

  3. I loved the confrontation between Snart and Flash in their last appearance. Barry letting them go, but warning "no more killing" or you go away a long time. Turning the Rogues into the characters they are. Now becomes more of a chess match between Cold and Flash, which is as it should be.

Also, LOVED the Trickster episode. Showing photos of Hamel in his Trickster outfit from 90s show was great. Reminded me again why he made such a great choice for the Joker, as his Trickster was really the prelude to B:TAS's joker, with Prank being the prequel to Harley. I once heard a radio interview with Mark where they asked him to do the voice, he told them they couldn't watch, as he alters his face. One of the DJ's (Mark and Brian) peeked and said he absolutely contorted his face when doing it.

Arrow remains good also, and I am loving the addition of ATOM. So, on TV we have Arrow, Flash, Firestorm, Black Canary (who has 2 tech people in Ray and Felicity and needs to get some more gear) and ATOM. Only thing I am not happy about series was the 180 degree turn by Captain Lance. It took a long time for Ollie to build up trust between them after the return, and to have him flip on Ollie, his daughter and the rest that quickly when learning of Sara's death, seemed abrupt.

  4. I don't think the cost is the main reason. I think their plan all along was to make her Daisy Johnson aka Quake, an established agent of SHIELD in the comics recruited by Fury during Civil War or Secret Invasion. As for her powers, one of them they mentioned in the comics was she developed pin point control (she isn't Avalanche) and could be one of the scariest Assassins if they tried, as her range is vision, IIRC, and with a scope, could explode someone's heart at range.

  5. Enjoyed the latest episode ("Crazy About You"). I was hoping Barry would take Caitlin's hint that she wanted to be crazy about him, but I understand where he's coming from. They aren't just friends, they are colleagues, and she sends help over the headphones. A dating relationship could strain that. Iris seemed quite shocked that Barry had a date. I suspect she was expecting Barry to always be waiting in the wings for her on standby.

Someone said in this thread before that Barry is using his speed to the exclusion of anything else. That has been shown very clearly the last two episodes. The Pied Piper beat him twice with the same trick. So did Line of Sight (I missed what they decided on for her). Barry's a scientist, he's used to using his brain. Perhaps it would be better to say that Barry is used to using the best tool for the job. As a forensic scientist, the best tool is his brain. As the Flash, he sees his best tool as his speed. He needs to rethink that. Brains with speed would be unstoppable.

I hope this is some of the character growth we'll be seeing this season.

We got the third shot of Grodd also. Any expectation that he'll be the villain for season 1's wrap up or will they wait for season 2?

Part of the Crossover with Arrow was Oliver trying to tell Barry that his speed is just a tool and that he still needs to know what he is doing. Knowledge is power.

  6. Robocop(2014): Why did they bother?

Battle of the Five Armies: Decent flick....ambiguous lame ending.

Godzilla vs. Gigan(on blu-ray)- Typical 70's kaiju fun.

Two episodes of the new Flash show- Not bad actually.

3-4 episodes of Agents of SHIELD-I'm a bit lost. I thought Cap 2 eliminated Hydra. How does the show fit in...all BEFORE Cap 2?

For Shield, depends on the episodes you saw. Some were prior, most the ones involving Hydra aren't. All Cap did was bring them out in the open, not eliminate. He cut off the heads he new of, but there are many leaders of Hydra. season 2 was basically Hydra and Coulson;s in a race to find something. I won';t spoil what.

  7. I guess my reaction has more to do with their portrayal of her hacker skills, which seemed almost supernatural in some of the stuff she did, though I agree it wasn't outside what Felicity does on Arrow, so maybe shouldn't seem super powered. But if I recall, she basically hacked the quinjets system with her cell phone at one point.

I have no problem with her being Daisy Johnson, and it was a good surprise, but I just think more of an explanation could have been forthcoming.

  8. That was a fun episode.  Very much like the direction they are going with Skye ("That's not her name").  Superagents of Shield is getting really interesting.  We've got two really interesting members

    Mockingbird and Quake

and I'm just really looking forward to where they go with this given all the supervillains introduced so far in the series. Plus Hydra continues to pose a threat, and now we've got Inhumans running about the place.

Mr. Hyde, Blizzard, Absorbing Man, Deathlok, Lorelei, Graviton so far... who am I missing?

    Good stuff

You missed whoever the other girl changed into. Didn't recognize the character.

the blind guy could be Reader

    .

  9. I wonder if Skye is immortal. She is the daughter of someone who touched the obelisk and apparently wasn't aging. We still don't know what powers her father actually has. I wonder if they aren't replacing the Terragin Mists with the Diviner (the name of the obelisk). I also wondered if it wasn't going to turn out to be another of the infinity stones.

  10. The other thing occurring to me as I watch this show and Arrow is maybe they should not be so quick to disassociate the tv shows from their movies. they are doing a great job of introducing JLA members and villains. I keep wondering if Caitlin SNOW won't become Killer Frost. But now you have Arrow, Arsenal, Atom (maybe eventually), Flash and Firestorm.
