People like to think of reality as a solid permanent thing. It isn't. Time travelers, cosmic events, and strange things from other dimensions have warped and altered what people call reality. And while what you think of as reality is currently real, its previous bending and warping has created weak points and cracks. One day a man fell   through one.He found himself inside a pocket dimension. How long was he there? Who knows when time doesn't exist is a minute a thousand years or a thousand years a minute? Over time he learned to alter the dimension, change it's form, and much to his delight warp it enough so that he could even reach into our dimension. True he could only take or place small objects. But he was dissatisfied with the speed at which he manipulated our world. So he left notes nd valuable objects trying to organize a group that would help him on this side. Some joined the Seven Phantoms and so he "joined" too. Though not even they have ever seen him. The story of th e Outsider is stll told in whispers in the underworld.

Danny Spear loved the wilderness, with one exception. he was highly susptable to poision ivy. In an attempt to fix it, he hired a chemist to make a lotion that would block it's effects. He tried it for two weeks. and found it did far more than that. His body became extremely flexible and he found that instead of dandruff his hair produced pollens that could make peoples eyes tear up, have trouble breathing, or become red and itchy. Now hes a member of the Wild Bunch as Spore.

Max Taylor had a passing interest in astronomy so when three of his friends wanted to go up Eagle's hill to look at the stars he agreed. As they looked at the night sky their attention was sized by a bright light coming from the Tarantula Nebula. As they watched the light soon ceased needing the telescope to see. It became blinding, and then the hill shook from an impact. Max was thrown clear. When he look over the impact he saw his three friends dead, and some sort of alien creature standing among them. It approached Max, and in an eerie voice tried explaining that the deaths were an accident. It hadn't intended to kill them and wanted to make amends.
Max wasn't fooled this monster was only pretending to be friendly so it could kill him easier. But what could Max do?
 
Suddenly an energy field in the general shape of a spider surrounded Max. He raised a " leg" and fired an energy blast at the creature. THe monster fired back, and for awhile a battle raged. Then Max used another "leg" to hit the creature, and it collapsed. He didn't stop pounding until he was sure it was dead. Max then walked off the hill. Since then he has hunted aliens. He has a particular dislike for the ones who pretend to be friendly so they can stab you in the back. True he's had to kill a few humans who wouldn't accept the truth. But the Tarantula
 knows better a few dead 5th columists then a dead world.

How much of a mage the Dark Cloak is is up for debate. Most of his mystic might seems to come from the black cloak with red symbols. It always shrouds his face in shadow, and from its folds he can unleash his shadow beasts. He has seemed to cast spells but then so does El Mystico Noir So is h a mage or just someone with a dangerous mystic artifact?

Rex Hodson had always pictured himself as an explorer adventurer. But he wasn't much good at it. Which is how he became a security guard on the archeological dig. Disgusted that his life had boiled down to watching a bunch of stuck up brats dust off pottery even from a tomb the locals warned them of., he decided to see if he could make a little money on the side. Having checked the artifact tent he entered the tomb to see if it would be easier to steal from there. Then the curse struck. Rex found large numbers of flesh eating insects spewing from his mouth, his skin hardening and growing spikes, and his eyes taking on an insect shape granting him great vision. He hid out in the jungle for a few days until he  learned to control the transformation enough to pass as his normal self. When he returned and found the others changed he joined them as Death Bug

Hunter seems an odd choice to lead the Monster Patrol. A perfectly normal human with nonleathal capture equipment most people think he's caught the other members and is focing them to help him hunt others of their kind while fighting crime. Thats sort of correct.
 
Greg Micheals was a handsome wealthy brilliant inventor who wanted to be superhuman. Instead his experiment turned him into a blob monster who for six months near mindlessly proweed the sewers attaking any hero or villian who wandered down there. Fortunatly his girlfriend and the head of the project finally managed to capture him and transform him back to nornal sort of. He found he could still absorb damage to an inhuman, and while not as well as when he was a blob, he could extend various parts of his body. No longer interested in being superhuman Grag redeicated his life to helping people like him who had been transformed.
 
Building his arsenal he targeted the newley renamed Lady Gorgon. He was quite surprised at how upset she was that he thought she wanted to be changed. After several arguments they finally set aside their differences and agreed. He'd help her fight crime, and is they ran into any reature that wanted to be reeturned to human she'd help catch it.  Soon they ran into Dust and Nightmare, and realized they had a team.

To the general public the Landlord is so named because of his ability to move earth with a wave of his hand. Which he used years ago to go on a crime spree of destroying buildings around the city. But the name Landlord has a second meaning. In his secret identity of Paul Hairn he is the owner and operator if Underworld reality. which pays top dollar for abandoned and run down buildings all over the city. But very little on security. So whenever someone needs a base or just a place to lie low they turn to the Landlord. And when the police arrest the criminal gang operating out of one of his abandoned warehouses Hairn again assures police he'll look into beefing up the security budget.

Still Argyte finds he likes the surface, and when its warm enough the rocky hero emerges to help the Sunshise Boys with his great strength and magma balls.

The Easter Brigade 5 members
 
Many people thing Dr. Malos is a madman. Their right. Dr. Malos thinks he's a genius. He's right. So it would surprise no one when he poured a bunch of chemicals on a rabbit. Exposed it to the strange radiation of a meteor, and zapped it with a lighting bolt. Then he made it bite him. Convinced he would soon gain superanimal powers he waited for the supersences, superspeed, and super libido. But nothing happened. Blaming the rabbit he sold it to a restaurant. It never arrived.
 
The creature that was the rabbit broke out of the truck enroute. Growing to the height of 4 feet counting the ears, it also morphed its paws to semi human fingers. Confused and frightened it hopped off, and ran into a group of kids. One of them asked if he was the Easter Bunny. Not knowing what that was but needing a place to hole up he said he was. Over the next few days he learned about the world around him. And he decided to stop telling the kids he was the Easter Bunny. But he didn't want to disappoint them too much so he told them he was the Easter Bunny's bodyguard Bouncer.
 
One of the kids asked if that meant he beat up badguys. Bouncer said yes, and that was how he found himself using his super speed and powerful hind legs to beat up people in the local gang bangers hideout. After this Bouncer mentioned he really should have some weapons, and the kids presented him with his basket of weapons. Of course Bouncer was more hoping for guns or a flamethrower. Still the brightly colored eggs can blind people, the jelly beans can trip people up, and truth be told he rather enjoys ramming a rotten egg on someones nose.
 
Overtime he ran into others who agreed to work with him. He wanted a team name more along a the lines of the Murder Death squad, but when a six year old girl looks like shes gonna cry if you don't take her suggestion what can you do. So the Easter Brigade was formed, and now when Peter Cotton calls the bad guys are sure to hear. "You are so getting bounced."

Mike Taris was always a big person. He didn't become a bully till he realized how he could use his size and strength to intimidate people. That lead him to realize he could make people give him stuff. Which led to a life of crime. Two stints in prision later he realized he wasn't the biggest toughest guy on the block, and even if he was you needed more than one man to run things off the play ground.
 
Fortunatly he had been intimidating a little science geek for years. It wasn't hard to make him create a method for Mike to become even stronger. The whole turning into a bull man thing was not the plan. As the little geek laughed at him he said.
"Now Mike your as ugly on the outside as the inside. How do you like being a minotaur. Something so ugly they locked him away in a maze."
 
Mike replied. "I'm not as dumb as people like to think. They didn't lock the minotaur away because it was ugly. It was because it ate people."
 
Tossing the body off his horn, Mike realized he probably should have waited till the guy had invented a cure. Still he had never been so powerful, and he soon met up with the Mutants of Mythos so he's o.k. with it

James Ardent didn't expect much when he and his friends went on vacation in the desert. He certainly didn't expect to fall into a cave and find a great archeological site. At least that's what they told him it was later on. He didn't see anything to get excited about. Some old broken pottery, a stone sort of like an altar, a stone table, and an old stone chisel laying on top of it. It struck him as odd there was no dust on it, So he pocketed it before leaving.
 
Later he imagined himself as one of the first primitive writers using it, and playfully tapped it on the bench he was sitting on. The bench immediately shattered. He soon found that anything that wasn't stone could easily be broken by it. Stone wasn't shattered, however an even odder thing occurred when he tried it on stone. He wrote the word dog, and suddenly the image of a dog appeared. Thinking it was a nearby dog, he wondered if he could find it by doing it again. This time a hand appeared pointing off. James followed it, and found a dog. Though it wasn't the same one from before.
 
Now with the ancient magic of the chisel the Word is ready to write a new chapter in the book of  justice.

Lost on Gilligan's Isle

As a chemist Peter Payne decided to examine old alchemical texts as he figured that was where chemistry got it's start. As he expected most of them were full of pusedomystical nonsence that were more harmful that helpful. However he found some that actually seemed to make sence. He tested them out and replaced the formulas with more modern ingredients. He managed to make liquids that could give him enhanced strength, create a large mass of goo, wither people, create a gust of wind capable of moving him, and cause inanimate objects to melt.
 
Calling himself Potion he ran rampant for a few months. Then he discovered something. While none of the potions lasted very long the illness breathing the fumes from making them caused was very permanent. Deciding not to let an ill timed coughing fit to land him in prison he retired from active villainy and joined the Collegium. While for the most part he's content to showing others to commit better crimes through chemistry, the urge for one last big caper is always there.
