  1. Yeah, I'm really rusty, I should be able to figure this out myself, but I can't wrap my skull around it. Using Teleportation with Must Cross Intervening Distance as the base, I want to build a power that literally lets the character dash anywhere on the planet's surface ... SAFELY. No (or at least very minimal) risk of teleporting into an object, as that doesn't make any sense with the super-running special effect to me. Help, por favor?
  2. Thanks! Now, a question about it ... from the way the power reads, the default SOP is that the user's body goes comatose while possessing something. To perform the 'merger' kind of Possession, am I to assume that one would need to take Desolidification and Clinging, or is there some standard power modifier somewhere that I missed?
  3. Hero Designer lists 'Possession' as a discrete power available, but I only have Champions Complete, and it doesn't seem to be in there. Would someone please be so kind as to tell me which book explains how this power works, that I may look into acquiring it? Thanks in advance.
  4. Finally getting back into gaming, running D&D 5e's The Sunless Citadel. The PCs have just encountered the kobold Meepo, who has agreed to take them to see his leader. There's a password he shouts every once and again. Meepo: "Meepo will say (word) sometimes. Is sa--password." Me OOC: "I almost said safeword. That's just not right." Jeff OOC: "That's a whole 'nother kind of dungeon."
  5. I have often been flamed for referring to the WW2 Holocaust has the second biggest attempted genocide in world history, as IIRC we slaughtered far more Native Americans as Germany did the Jewish. In an unrelated note, Al Franken is resigning. While I agree that what he did was terrible, I don't think he should have resigned while Trump, who publicly confessed to the far worse crime of child rape, is still in office. And I firmly agree with the above, that Germany and other European countries need to prepare themselves against potential American aggression. I don't think we're going to get out of this one ... it wasn't even a slippery slope into fascism, it was more like walking off a cliff but, in true Wile E. Coyote style, most people didn't realize it until we actually looked down. I'm earnestly ashamed to be American right now (and a white male, for that matter). The 'American Experiment' is over, and it failed.
  6. Dear Human Race, Do not say 'I want your honest opinion' when you really mean 'I only want your opinion if I share it'. If you decide to do so anyway, don't b*tch when you get it. Signed, Someone whose honest opinion was recently solicited-not-solicited.
  7. I'm not sure I'm grokking all the terms right, but understanding why something was how it was and 'forgiving' it are two different things to me. Yes, I understand why it was considered acceptable to portray minorities in those ways back in the 30s/40s/50s. Socially acceptable and right are not synonymous to me. It was still wrong, vile, disgusting, pathetic, and moronic. I don't think those things should be forgiven; I would have no problems with them being locked away, brought out only in the context of showing how backwards and pathetic we were, something to inspire shame and revulsion to ensure it never becomes acceptable again.
  8. Trying to figure out how to build a power that only fires if a hit is guaranteed ... essentially, you'd roll to hit, and if you failed, nothing would happen. No charge expended, no END spent, and so forth. Could also be used for those times when you have to be exceptionally accurate to hit one target and not anything nearby. I'd like to avoid doing this with a Summon, if at all possible.
  9. "Bet that wasn't a conversation you expected to hear two fifty-year-olds have in front of you." --Me, to a Wal-Mart cashier, after my wife and I saw a display of Pokemon plushies nearby and talked about our favorite Eeveelultions (Eevee and five were there, three missing).
  10. The more I look at that pic, the less I think he's actually touching her. I freely admit my vision stinks, but it looks like his fingers are not in contact with her clothing. Still inappropriate as hell, even through body armor. To Old Man's point, Roger Ailes tweeted about the pic before it actually became public knowledge. With this, her Trumpty-Dumpty support, and being a friend of Hannity, is suspicious to enough of us that we suspect this is all some kind of setup. We have the damning pic, yes, but everything else, AFAIK, is on the tongue of someone who supports a guy publicly in favor of sexual assault who lies 5.5 times a day to the populace. The fact that Franken outright said 'bring on the investigation' makes me think he thinks so, too, as opposed to Moore's attempted cover-ups. At the very least, unlike Moore and Trump, Franken has shown genuine contrition as opposed to deception and pride, respectively; that should count for something. Heck, she even accepted his apology and said he shouldn't resign (which I actually find suspicious). And in case it wasn't obvious, I freely admit my bias: My loathing of Trump is such that I inherently distrust anybody who supports him. Loathing is too soft a word. Saying what I would like to do to him here would violate the code of conduct, terms of service, FCC regulations, common decency, X-Rated Movie restrictions, a half-dozen religious mores, and possibly the Geneva Conventions.
  11. ESPECIALLY for those who believe in separation of church and state. I'm honestly of the mind that anybody who says anything indicating they're going to put their religion above the Constitution shouldn't be allowed to hold public office. They're literally saying 'I have no intention of following my sworn Oath of Office'.
  12. Last I heard, he was down by eight to ten. Not that it means much.
  13. So, Roy Moore and his wife have evidently forged those letters of support they got from Alabama pastors. I think it's safe to say he knows he's busted.
  14. Well, of course the p*ssy-grabber-in-chief is going to say that. I remember when Reagan was called 'The Teflon President' because any attempt to call him out on his *ahem* inaccurate statements slid right off him. Trumpty-Dumpty has him beat all hollow on that. He's averaged 5 lies a day, of various blatancies, every day of his regime (I refuse to say 'administration') and all he has to say is 'Fake News' and it's like shaking an Etch-A-Sketch.
  15. According to a poll, 29% of Alabama voters say that the child molestation allegations against Roy Moore make them MORE LIKELY to vote for him. WT actual F, Alabama?
  16. In the interests of being fair ... if Moore was after teenagers, then technically that's ephebophilia, not pedophilia. Still awful, still illegal, still disgusting, of course, and if true, he should get castrated via a pair of rusty hedge clippers for it, then his testicles shoved up his nose.
  17. And don't forget 'treating women like incubators on legs' and bigotry against the LBGT populace. Oh, and erosion of the wall of separation between church and state. If you're not white, rich, straight, male, and christian, voting Republican is voting against your own best interests, as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Had to replace my stove and my furnace in rapid succession.
