Stargate: SG-1 & Veteran TV Actor Cliff Simon Passes Away, Age 58 Ba'al was the best villain of the entire series, bar none. He was witty and affable and over-the-top and irredeemably evil. He was the one member of the Goa'uld who didn't get sucked in by his own hype. Cliff Simon played him masterfully. While I wasn't terribly keen on the later seasons of SG-1, Simon's Ba'al was definitely a bright spot and his proper introduction in Season 6 definitely left a mark. Starlord Posted March 12, 2021 Report Share Posted March 12, 2021 RIP Now that Netflix has all the episodes of SG-1, the wife and I will probably start watching in the next month or so. It wasn't something I got into when it was originally airing due to bad timing and my interest was dampened because I was such a big fan of the movie and the performances of Russell and Spader that I thought the tv version would only disappoint.
