Cancer
Meh, there'll be another market bubble and subsequent depression that consumes everyone's retirement savings, so I'm expecting to die in harness.
L. Marcus
Don't be silly -- the finance people will never allow another bubble to burst! Right?
Cancer
Financial collapses let them buy people's stuff for pennies on the dollar ... or steal repossess it when people can't make payments. They create these crises intentionally, for their own profit. Bazza
L. Marcus
As the good book (The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy) says, they'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.
Pariah
I haven't read much of Lewis's stuff. I was much more averse to theologically tuned writing when I was young, I did very little recreational reading while I was in college, grad school, and postdoc, ... and by then I had less time. ...and yet you drafted Queen Jadis (by name, no less) in my draft in July.... Cancer
This (that's one page in a technical journal article) is a finding and identification chart for the stars in the old open star cluster M67. The cluster coordinates are well known; finding the precise star in the cluster takes a finding chart.

Cancer
Hey, nearly all stars hide in galaxies. Makes you wonder what they are hiding from.

Cancer
Whee! On the telescope for the first time in fifteen years. The weather is lousy, but I am getting stuff. Which is sort of what one would hope with 9th magnitude target stars and a 3.5m telescope. L. Marcus

BTW, there should be a strong resemblance between my avatar and the central part of the field on that linked page. Modulo a positive-negative image contrast flip, and rotation: rotate the avatar counterclockwise a quarter turn and then the orientation will be the same. Cancer
It is the many, not the one, that defines the cluster. The needs of the many override the needs of the one.
