lemming
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I understand that a superhero origin story was posted for review a while back. It might be worth checking out. The full character sheet is also available. And well worth the read. I usually breeze by things lately, but that one I read wanting more. zornwil
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Hey, here's my happy dance story! I ordered the new Beck "deluxe" DVD of Guero online at his site, responding to an email from beck.com. I understand it's on backorder - no big deal, okay. Then today I get a note indicating that they had production problems and they won't be able to ship until the week of 4/12. No big to me, even though of course I'm anxious to get it. I was actually more bummed that they're out of stock of the DVD Audio version of Sea Change, I had never picked it up but meant to, and my DVD player has excellent audio, I bought it specifically for that reason as well as it being multi-region and supporting the DVD-Audio format (until recently, many DVD players did not, and many cheap ones did not even 12 months ago). Well, anyway, as a means of "apologizing" for the delay, here's what they're giving away... "As a means of apologizing for the delay, we have also authorized the special one-time pressing of CD versions of the Hell Yes EP featuring the following remixes: 1. Bad Cartridge (E-Pro remix by Paza/The X Dump) 2. Bit Rate Variations In B-Flat (Girl remix by Paza/The X Dump) 3. Gameboy/Homeboy (Que Onda Guero remix by 8-Bit) 4. Ghettochip Malfunction (Hell Yes remix by 8-bit) The Hell Yes EP has never been offered as a commercial CD and is now only being produced as a special one-time-only apology from the Beck store to you." Hell Yes indeed!!!
AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Because I ordered a copy of The Last Unicorn audiobook, I'm getting a signed copy of Peter S. Beagle's latest, which takes place a little later in the timeline. It's called Two Hearts, and I don't know what it's about. But I don't CARE! Also, they're sending out signed copies of the trade paperback of Last Unicorn with orders. They didn't say how many of those are available, so I may or may not be getting that. But I'd call that a pretty good bargain!

Dr. Anomaly
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Yesterday evening, I ran the game I GM for three teenagers (I consider them up-and-coming gamers, and since I don't have any kids of my own to try and indoctrinate, I figure this is my contribution to "the next generation" of gamers). Apparently, it was a big hit, as after the fact the two guys made a point of shaking my hand and telling how well it went, and the girl hugged me, telling me the same thing. The most dramatic thing that happened during the game, that got a "cool!"-style response from all three players? Ripper literally ripping the girl's character Ocelot in half and throwing the pieces in opposite directions (she was at -30ish body after Ripper's STR 100 attack, having been put down to 1 body previously by a Viper agent drilling a hole completely through her head, right between the eyes, with a 6d6 RKA laser). Yes, she died. ... But she got better. Ocelot has regeneration, including 9 Charges that never recover, of Resurrection. (A cat has 9 lives, of course. ) They did manage to vanquish Ripper, though it was a near thing.

lemming
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER So occasionly I'll check out one of the comics. Liberty Project by Eclipse. Sort of like Suicide Squad, but lighter toned. Kurt Busiek is one of the co-creators. He improved by Astro City time, or James Fry slowed him down. it's not a bad comic, just not as good. Bazza
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER For mightybec: http://song lyrics Scroll down and read: Balwyn Calling, You Just Like Me 'Cos I'm Good In Bed, Carlton/Lygon Street Limbo, Toorak Cowboy, Smut [especially this one], Motorcycle Bitch. These were all on one album. And as you can guess only teo songs on the album were suited for radio play and the rest was banned. Well that just resulted the album selling MORE copies.
