BlackCobra
In a very recently started campaign (last night) there was some discussion about what rooms to add to our new base. Between that discussion and the recent thread on bases, I thought it might be fun to post your favorite kind of lab. Pretty much ANY skill can be turned into a lab, and it's so much fun to come up with what they do. Fun, and in some cases, really really useful. So here are a few of the ideas we've come up with: - KS: Current Events Lab (cable TV in the lounge, with ALL the news channels available). - Streetwise Lab (either a rollodex of the Right People, or filiing cabinents full of blackmail material) - Deduction Lab (sound-proofed room with a white board and comfy chairs -- a must-have for any detective base) - Fast Draw lab (arcade full of shooty games, also helps with firearms combat) So what unusual or must-have labs do you have in YOUR base? The Mad GM
Re: Labs! for every occasion Some ideas spring to mind: Interrogation Lab - do i need to spell it out for ya? Acrobatics lab - gymnasium with funky jungle-gym type aparatus, trampolines, etc. Martial arts or CSL lab - dojo, with high tech robot opponents Seduction lab - red velvet revolving waterbed, mirrored ceiling, mini-bar, stereo with eight track, fur rug and a fireplace Linguist lab - any taxicab
Blue Jogger
Re: Labs! for every occasion Concealment Lab - First off, it doesn't look like a lab. It looks like a room filled with boxes. On the other hand, it is the best place to hang low and not be discovered, even in the most through of searches. Shootouts are good in here as well, since you always have partial cover. Physics and Magic Lab - Just to cause synergy and havoc between them, have them next to each other. You got your gravitrons in my mana! Your mana is interfering with my gravitrons! Wait-a-minute! They both run off to write papers on the managravitic force.

The Mad GM
Re: Labs! for every occasion Lockpicking/security systems lab: designed to look like a bedroom and study in a wealthy person's house. Nah, just use your team mates rooms for that. That way you can also use it to practice defensive CSLs, running, and PS: Prevarication. Since the person trying to improve his skill is playing the role of a cat burglar and the room's owner is playing the role of the victim, it's also to work on stealth skills. BoloOfEarth
Re: Labs! for every occasion Demolitions Lab - combine with Concealment Lab and Breakfall Lab (mentioned above) - can you find and defuse the bomb before the lab rotates? And who the heck put a mercury switch on that thing?! Acrobatics / Contortionist Lab - bars and beams and razorwire (oh, my!) crisscross this room, making it extremely difficult to cross the room to the other door. Bureaucratics Lab - you must return from this room with form 37-B.
Sociotard
Re: Labs! for every occasion Contortionist Lab: Door is 2' by 3', the room is full of tunnels and such. Mimicry: Sound system with database of a few thousand different sounds and voice types. Critiques your reproductions.
The Mad GM
Re: Labs! for every occasion Contortionist lab: air ducts in any given building would work. Animal handling lab: Big empty room with a dirt floor, some rubber barrels, and a thoroughly irritated animal of a random species. Start with hamsters and work your way up to wolverines, Bengal tigers and polar bears -or- use any ordinary classroom full of teenagers.
