Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Rob Heinsoo once had a story that mentioned Thork, the heavily-armed God of Martian Thunder.

"Sadly, my homeworld no longer has enough of an atmosphere to sustain storms. Thus I have come to Earth, that what happened to Mars may not happen here."

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Consider these used.

Is Lightray ever a member of the JLA?

Manhunter:

Dr. Sam Erdel wanted to reach out and touch the stars with his experimental teleporter. The beam played through the solar system, touching on an artifact on the surface of Mars. Dr. Erdel was astonished to find that he had found a cybernetic organism that had survived the extinction of all life on the red planet.

The cyborg activated, scanned its surroundings, and decided to learn to live with the humans. It adopted an identity as detective Jim Jones to blend in and protect the innocent with its martian powers.

Mariner:

Arthur Namor was the product of a liason between an Alantean Princess and a sailor. He grew to manhood unaware of his heritage until he fell into the ocean near his home on the upper world. He quickly learned he had the ability to command the surrounding sea life as well as being able to swim almost as fast as a plane could fly through the air. This coupled with his great strength and immunity to the depths allows him to operate as the defender of the seven seas.

Arrow Witch (Scarlet Witch/Green Arrow):

Wanda Queen always had an eye for archery, but it was a leisure activity until she was stranded on a desert island. She honed her skills to survive, which awakened her mutant ability. Arrows went wherever she aimed, and when they struck, strange effects were bound to happen.

Discovering a band of pirates landing on her island, Wanda adopted the identity of the Arrow Witch to rout them and return to the mainland.

Lightspeed (Quicksilver + Lightray)

As a child Pietro was left on the side of a mountain, there he was found by an attendent to Patriarch the leader of the super evolved High Gods. Seeing young Pietro's mutant abilities as a potential for place to test some theories about evolving a mutant to the same level as the rest of the High Gods.

Young Pietro soon found himself able to wrap himself in a mysterious energy force that allowed him to become the fastest man alive.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Let's see, some of the Masters of Injustice...

Baron Luthor Memno - (Baron Zemo + Lex Luthor + Agamemno)

*Designer of the K-Bomb used by the Green Skull. Cast into the Negative Zone near the end of the war by a lab accident caused by Allied bombing of his lab-bunker. Slipped back out unnoticed in the same explosion that freed Supersoldier. Super-scientist with many inventions including his Adhesive L-X (a variant of which at times incorporates Kryptonite). The same explosion that wrecked his lab and sent him to the Negative Zone also coated his hair in Adhesive L-X, and it fell out, never to regrow.

Elemental Man - (Radioactive Man + Mr. Element+Absorbing Man)

*After Thundergod foiled a Red Chinese plot, the Chinese kidnapped American Albert Desmond to assist them in making an agent capable of defeating Thundergod. Working with (and on) Dr. Chen Lu, they managed to infuse Lu with immense power. Now, he can take on the form of any element, and can absorb the properties of anything he touches!(One-man "Elements of Evil")

Felicity Faust - (Enchantress + Felix Faust)

*Mystic who was accepted into Themyscria. One of main sorceresses responsible for Amazon's recovery. She expected to be rewarded herself with the power of the gods - when it was given to Amazon instead, she flew off in a rage, swearing revenge.

Here are the first 3 villians for The Masters of Injustice.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

yet another villain...

Klaw (Klaw + Sinestro)

*Former Green Lantern who used his ring for evil, cast out of the Corps, losing his hand in the process. Created a "power ring" of his own in the form of an attachment in place of his missing hand, managing to siphon off energy from the main power battery, in the process the energy became yellow. Years later, he projected himself through his converter, becoming pure sentient power!

I love this combo. Better than almost all that Marvl/DC came up with.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Consider all but the scarlet Stranger stolen.

Hmm ... how about:

Hawkeye (Hawkman + Hawkeye): Former Than'airian (Thanagar + Shi'ar) police officer, Klinton Hal, now battles crime on earth with a variety of both Earth and Than'arian weaponry. Along with his soul mate, the beautiful Mockingbird (Hawkgirl +

Mockingbird), a former agent of a SHIELD, they battle villainy from both worlds.

Goldhawk (Booster Gold + Darkhawk): An unknown figure from the 26th century, the hero known as Goldhawk uses a special crystal that grants him his marvelous armor and gold-beams.

Steel Machine (War Machine + Steel): Jim Henry's life changed the day that he started working for Anthony Wayne. Originally a weapons consultant, he quickly discovered Wayne's secret and, utilizing some of the tech, made a suit of armor for himself. Calling himself Steel Machine, he's become an icon on the streets of NYC.

Nightspider (Nightwing + Spiderman): Pete Grayson was adopted at a young age by industrialist Tony Wayne. Though originally a carnival orphan, Pete adapted to a normal life and used some of the tricks he had learned to get him onto his school's gymnast program. Then, on one fateful field trip, Pete was bitten by a genetically altered spider and gained some of its abilities. Revealing his newfound abilities to his mentor, Wayne gave Pete some spider-themed equipment and unleashed the youth on the city as the crimefighter Nightspider!

Silly Putty (Sandman + Plastic Man): Former criminal, Eel Marko, found his life changed after agreeing to work for Rupert Hammer. Undergoing an experimental process, he was quickly changed to human silly putty and quickly adapted to a life of crime as part of Nightspider's rogue's gallery. After many defeats, he decided that maybe he should try the other side and has since turned over a new leaf.

The Scarlet Stranger (Scarlet Witch + Phantom Stranger): No one knows who this strange being is ... all that's known is that she walks the worlds, helping when she can and serving a greater cause with her reality-warping abilities.

The Bouncin' Blue Beast (Blue Beetle + Beast): Archeaologist Ted McCoy was astounded to find proof of En-Sabah-Nabu's existance in an Egyptian tomb. But this knowledge came with a price, changing young McCoy into a blue-furred beast. Adpating to his new appearance, the hero has fought with both the X-Patrol and JLA.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Got another one:

Black Tiger (Black Panther + Bronze Tiger): T'Challa Turner was born of nobilty, but was moved from his homeland after there was a coup in his home country. Learning the ways of the street, he fell into the company of Richard Chi and Lady Mantis, supreme martial artists that taught many other heroes (like The Quiz [Question/Daredevil], Tigress [Huntress/Hellcat] and Wildkat [Wildcat/Tigra]). Donning the name Black Tiger, T'challa has decided to take back his homeland eventually, using JLA influence when he can.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Yes Lightray joined the JLA for a time alongside Orion.

It was a long time ago, though I think he may have been active again during the JLI run.

Lightray was a JLA'er after JLI, it was during the current series, but probably around issue 40 IIRC (They are in the 100's now)

Ok, it was Justice League of America issue #42 (9/90), shortly after they tried to recruit Hawk and Dove along with Starman III (that's the blue skinned alien guy who came before even Will Payton). He left the team in Justice League America #50 (5/91).

JLE which is Internation v2 was running during the same time period.

For reference the current JLA series started on 1/97.

So I was wrong on my initial long time ago but correct that he was active during the JLI period.

Sorry for the mix-up...some reason I thought he was on the team back in the 80s.

The Vibrator - Eros (Starfox) + The Flash. His amazing powers made him the most popular hero on his home world, and now he's come to Earth.

The Wonderful Gigantic Plastic Thing - Wonderman + Plastic Man + Giant Man + The Thing. Big, Strong, and Stretchy.

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

How about "Black Magic" . Dinah Lance was one of the best martial artists around, until the day she battled a woman who used Chaos Magic and somehow their personalities merged ! She is still one of the best martial artists, but sometimes, unexpectedly, odd things happen when she uses her martial arts ! ("Black Canary"and "The Scarlet Witch"in case you haven't guessed !)

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Here's some more ;)

Solomon (Solomon Grundy + The Hulk + Swamp Thing): While doing some research in the Everglades, Dr. Bruce Grundy was betrayed by his lab partner, Anton Blonsky (who would go on to become the Arcanation) and seemingly killed. Then, like the old rhyme, he rose the following Monday as a grey-green creature that seems almost linked to the swamp. Now an urban myth, the creature called Solomon by the townspeople near the swamp searches to find something more to life.

Demonstone (The Thing + The Demon): Adventurer Jason Grimm stumbled upon the crypt of Morgan LeFey during one of his adventurous jaunts. Combing the crypt, he accidently awakened the sorceress, who promised him wealth and power if he led her out. Agreeing, Grimm led the witch out and was paid in full: She allowed him to keep the riches he had found, but cursed him by bonding him to a strange rock-like demon called Etrithing. After a few years struggling with the creature, the two have come to an agreeance with each other and have dedicated their lives to hunting LeFey down.

Visionary (Vision + Tomorrow Woman + Human Torch I): Created by the mad scientist Hammond Morrow, the synthazoid Jim Morrow was originally made to destroy the JLA. But, during his first battle with the team, the AI was shown the err of his "upbringing" and betrayed his creator. Welcomed into the team, he has become an invaluable member with his microwave powers, enhanced abilities and data-deciphering mind. Even after facing people like his "brother" Mindtron (a psionic superior droid built from inertium) and "mate" Jocasta (a "female" combination of his and his brothers abilities).

Are we going to get any more entrees in the Masters of Injustice?

Poor players.

OK, how about...

*The Ultra-Primate (Ultron+Ultra-Humanite+Grodd) - superscientist ape with mental powers inhabiting an incredibly powerful adamantium body of his own design. He can look like Mecha-King Kong Pic

Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble!

Hmm ... bad guys, huh?

Nightingale (Shade + Songbird): Melissa Shade had had enough of these so-called Mystery Men back during the '40s. Making a pact with with a shadow demon, she was given powers over darkness and, donning a costume made of shadows, began calling herself Nightingale.

Black Beetle (Black Adam + Beetle): Abner Adam worked under Ted McCoy during the excavation that turned the latter into the Blue Beast. Jealous and unconviced that McCoy deserved the powers, Abner constructed a power suit based upon the scarab-monster that the En Sabah Nabu used to smite his enemies.

He volunteered for a government experiment that infuse dhim with a serum made from the DNA of a dead alien child found in a spaceship that had crashed in Kansas. The serum made him super strong, super tough, and gave him the ability to fly.

A NAZI agent killed the scientist who had created the serum, and his notes were destroyed in a fire as Rogers stopped the agent. Equipped with experimental Body armor, and a Sheild cut fromt he alien craft, he fought the Axis during WWII. Near the end of the war, the Green Skull launched a prototype K-bomb at Washington DC. Super Soldier was able to stop it and redirect it so that it exploded harmlessly over the Caribbean (he thought) but was thrown onto the Negative Zone by the explosion.

He was released during the testing of a new K-bomb which created the Doom-Hulk. He teamed up with the early Justice League, Avengers to stop him. He has worked with them ever since, and is considered a founding member.

He works for the Planetary Bugle in New York as a court reporter and scetch artist. He has fallen for Sharron Lane, an investigative reporter who also works at the paper, and who in turn is in love with Super Soldier, without knowing the two men are the same.
