Egyptoid
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof okay so: 5ER came out of 5th Ed. 5th Ed. was built upon fourth edition. 4th revised champions 3rd, and C3 overcame C2, and before that who knows. It was the 80s man... My premise goes thusly: Since Champions became Hero sytem became 4th became 5ER, there's a logical progression of quantifiable changes here. If I take Hero 4th, buy off its limitations and trim down its disadvantages, I get 5th ed right ?!? and Shape up 5th Ed. with some XPs and new abilities, we have 5ER, yes? Does anyone have a character sheet for 5ER ?
Dr. Anomaly
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof Does anyone have a character sheet for 5ER ? What a great first post! As soon as I have some more rep (I already used my allotment for today) you're getting some! P.S. I don't know about a character sheet for 5ER, but if you check HERO Game's store at Cafe Press, you can find a HERO coffee mug with the official game-stats write-up of the coffee mug printed on it... Tech
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof I think we need Kevlar dice bags now. I'm not going to mention where I'll be wearing that. (And I'm also not volunteering for the gunfire testing!) One of the players in our group made a chainmail dice bag. Seriously! She's making all sorts of chainmail things.. yes, things.. scary thought, isn't it?
Narratio
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof I remember going to a con' a few years back and one lady wore a 'standard' combat bikini (I love book covers) which included a chainmail bra. She also had pierced nipples and... one thing leading to another, had to be cut free of it by her boyfriend. Wire cutters, don't leave home without them. Almafeta
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof Unfortunately, the tests for "If I hit you with my copy of Hero 5er, you would die" had less publishable results. Matt Frisbee
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof Random thoughts on the movie: 1) Very entertaining, especially the last bit. 2) Where does the term FRED come from? 3) Seems like a perfectly good waste of a $50.00 rule book. The Mad GM
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof I believe the test book was a damaged copy. It was a mercy killing.

Matt Any talk of a book, no matter in what nature, has an Activation Roll to generate interest in said book. So this got non-Hero players to talk about it and may have generated extra sales. Dr. Anomaly
Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof 2) Where does the term FRED come from? People like abbreviations and "slang terms" (or "affectionate pet names", if you prefer) for things. The 4th Edition Champions book was shorthanded to "BBB" for "Big Blue Book" because the cover was blue and it was the largest book in the line. Well, when 5th Edition was coming out, there was some discussion as to what to call it. It's a big book, and has a black cover, but you couldn't very well call it the "BBB" ("Big Black Book") because that abbreviation was already in use. When Steve was asked what to call it he responded with "You can call it 'Fred' for all I care...just buy it." So 'Fred' got immediately retconned into "FREd", for "Fifth Rules Edition." And the 5th Edition, revised, is shorthanded to 5ER (pronounched "five-er").
