Hugh Neilson
Re: I killed a fellow PC last night... It very well may have been over-powered. On the other hand, the events that lead to the death included a critical hit, poor defensive actions on the part of the PC, and the character still had to get hit again to be finished off. When a player gets particularly lucky with the dice it’s all good, even when it totally demolishes the GM’s plans. When a GM gets lucky with the dice it makes them a bad GM. I don’t like that. Sometimes even experienced GMs miscalculate or make boneheaded mistakes. The fact that dissuades me from commenting too negatively on the GM is the follow up. The PC wasn't left as "bad luck on those die rolls - time for a new character". Rather, the GM not only found an in-game approach to bring the PC back, but did so with a good role playing hook. Everyone makes mistakes. How we deal with them is what sets us apart.

Tech
Re: I killed a fellow PC last night... That doesn't mean death should never be an option. That depends on the campaign, the players and the GM.

Drhoz
Re: I killed a fellow PC last night... In Sundog's Kingdom City game, the PC Void was hit with just such a command. He promptly teleported to California, much to the villian's surprise. Of course, Void's girlfriend got a nasty shock.....
