Inspired by the superhero/villain name generator thread on NGD. Here is an idea for a new "game" here on the Champions boards.

 

1) Take the generated name from the previous posters thread. And create a basic background for the character, and some power ideas, etc. (no need to create a whole character sheet, though if you actually want to, be my guest.

 

2) Go to: http://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=superheronameorg and then take a name. After mentioning it on NGD, I am keeping it kind of loose, and let it be up to the poster whether they want to take the first name given, or take the best out of 5, or however they want to do it. The point is just get one name for the next poster to create a super out of it.

 

ANd then the next poster does the same steps. Etc. Etc.

 

I'll give the first name in just a second.

Raptor Duke

Who said only humans could have super powers? Before the first human got out of the trees, a single dinosaur achieved sentience. He was a mutant, and would have led the dinosaurs to a new life, a new evolution.

 

It was not meant to be however. The meteor that was infamous for destroying the dinosaurs fell from the sky. Running away from the ball of death, he was caught in an aftermath of flame and death.

 

And then he was no longer in that world. He was in a world of bright lights where everything moved at incredible speeds. He looked at his body, which was now yellow with stripes on it.

 

In the years to come physicists would call this the speed zone, where some speedsters gained their powers. These speedsters alos tell of a dinosaur like being who would attack them while they were in the speed zone, and force them to remain inside, trying to kill them.

 

They all agree on one fact. The being calls itself "Raptor Duke".

 

Personality:

Raptor Suke still retains all the desires of a hunter, and acts like one, stalking it's prey and attacking with it's razor sharp claws and blinding speed. However it's sentience and centuries in the speed zone have introduced a new concept to the dinosaur. Loneliness. It's the only dinosaur left in the world, and has gone millions of years without mating.

But it's still hungry and it's attracted to the blindingly fast supers who break the barriers between the world, allowing him to reach in and grab them, before eating them.

 

Powers:

When it grabs a speedster, it takes him to a world where speed is relative. Any powers gained by the speedzone is useless there, and many speedsters are weaker here. Duke Raptor however has years of experience hunting here, and is faster then most humans.

He doesn't have the concentration to do speedster tricks, mainly just doing move throughs/bys with his razor sharp claws. He can track you once he has your smell, and can find you even if your in the normal dimension, just waiting for you to go super sonic and then SNAP!

Silk Gale

 

Silk Gale (Secret ID Name: Dorothy Royle) is a very powerful weather/wind/air manipulator. Powers include a Change Environment that covers all sorts of weather, various AoE attacks (some with Indirect), etc. Her most often used power is an AoE TK---a localized windstorm that can move quite a large amount around. This power, and some of her others, is accompanied by a swirl of mist that, observers report, feels like silk scarves lightly touching one. Hence the name.

 

It is not clear if the Astrocite medallion she wears has any relation to her powers.

Hans was dying. He knew it.

 

He did not want to die, Not someone as powerful as him.

 

He did not deserve death.

 

So he planned.

He built.

He researched.

He studied.

He succeeded.

 

Once it was finished he sat in the target chair. He smiled to himself and awaited his rebirth. The machine began, it inserted its nuero-needles into Hans. Hans screamed but did not move. This was planned.

 

Then the Computer began uploading Hans. Draining from his every last bit of Intelligence, Wit, Wisdom and Charisma.

 

The banks and banks of memory grew hot as it pulsed with millions upon millions of terabytes that made Hans who Hans was.

 

Then the computer started downloading. The metal shell that would Serve as the new Hans Dunver opened its eyes.

 

Personality.

 

Hans is a super-genius, he is also a humanitarian, a hero and a legend. But he was disgusted with the notion that if he died, al of his knowledge would be lost. So he spent the last 20 years of his life building a new body. a robotic one.

 

Hans is exactly as he was in life, except maybe a bit more reckless, Because even if his new robot body is destroyed, he has his personality backed up on his mainframe.

 

Now that he has finished his goal, Hans has exploded back onto the hero scene.

 

No-one knows that Hans is actually a robot now, they all think he's just developed a new power-suit.

 

Powers.

 

Build 1 of two ways.

 

A power suit hero with a Resurrection (does not work if someone destorys mainframe)

 

OR

 

A mainframe with a powerful summon.

Shade Killer

No one knows the true identity of the one known as the Shade Killer. Some merely claim it as urban legend. Some a vengeful demon. Some even think it is some dead serial killer born anew into darkness. What is known is that who/whatever it is it likes to kill.

 

Powers

 

Basically a mastery of shadows. He can teleport within shadows from one shadow to another shadow which could be several feet away or halfway around the globe. (Think of it as connecting gates if you will). He also has the ability to use "the essence" of a shadow and turn them into tentacles.

 

Appearance

Well-not much is known. From the few that have seen him (and lived) he seems to dress in all-black or simply looks to be a "living shadow" (depending on who you ask). He is human or human-shaped.

 

Personality

A sadistic killer. He has a bloodlust and loves to "play" with his victims. His lone encounter with a superhero, he showed to be more down to business. Though, unfortunately, he shadow teleported away before anything could be discerned much about him.

 

Tactics

From what can be gathered, he attacks by ambush through a shadow near a person who is alone. Once the victim is within his grasp, he likes to play with his victim. Finally, killing them when bored. Similar to a cat with a mouse.

Shade Killer

 

Out of the shadows,

Out of the dark,

Evil may come,

But can't face God's spark!

 

There are many universes. In some, evil beings can teleport from shadow to shadow, escaping those who would face them. Sometimes, these beings, these demons are made of the very shadows that protect and empower them.

 

In one such world, however, there is one who can follow the demons of the shadows, chasing them down and using deitific light to destroying them. This knight-errant of the forces of Light is known by the nick-name "Shade Killer".

 

He is relentless in pursuit of the demons of shadow (or "shades" as they are also called), and when he forces them into a corner they can't escape from, he kills them mercilessly. Thus he protects common folks, and shows the power of the Church of Light.

 

And no-one knows that within that all-covering armor, behind that never-opened helm, lies a Shade. For "Shade Killer" is not out to protect anyone, not out to promote any church. All it wants is to kill as many other Shades as it can, so as to make itself king of all Shades. It knows that by posing as a pro-light knight, it will receive abundant help in its actions.

 

Naturally, its weapon is not deitific light, but infernal. As well, it greatly enjoys the irony that, though its nickname comes from the fact it kills Shades, it is equally applicable due to it being a Shade that kills.

Nitrosmash

Young Tony Mandes was a 16 year old kid going down a rough path in life. His mother left him when he was 3. His dad drank when he wasn't asleep. Tony had to look after himself and his little sister Emily. He took jobs from some less then respectable friends that paid well.

 

One day, he was told to look over some broken metal thing that his friend Larry said, "Fell off the back of the truck". Looking it over he realised that it was a half destroyed armour suit, like those super heroes on the news wore. Iron something or other.

 

The others didn't know what to do with it, so they let him keep it. With the help of his kid genius of a sister, they repaired the suit of armour, a brown and green bulky suit of armour. It's not sleek but it still flies.

 

Then VIPER attacked their home. They killed their drunk dad, and crippled Emily. Tony in anger beat the VIPER agents to a pulp with the suit before escaping with Emily.

 

As Emily healed, Tony decided he needed to stand up against such injustice, and dedicated himself to become a hero. Nitrosmash.

 

 

Powers: The suit of armour was a prototype fashioned by VIPER, to start a new line of armoured agents. While it lacks energy projection abilities, it does increase the user's strength into super human levels and the armour is strong enough to shrug off high caliber bullets. It can also fly, but at a very slow speed, about 5" of flight.

Tony usually just wades in arms swinging, trying to take out as many as he can. He believes he's invincible, but he is in for a rude awakening when he faces really powerful heroes.

The evening in the city was cold and crisp, and the clouds covered the moon, creating an eerie darkness. And then she came. It was unknown where she arrived from, speculation among the papers were rampant. But her arrival was a splash, in the middle of the attempted presidential assassination. Preventing the attempt, she became an immediate media darling.

 

She is Feather Stab, the Slicingia!

 

Feather arrived sending the feathery projectiles to the gunman, pinning him to the wall. Flying down from the sky, The Slicingia dropped before the man.

 

"This is the day of dawning. The moment is now... the end of your criminal life begins now. I am Feather Stab, the Slicingia. And you will never believe the uses of the feather."

 

Slicing her mark into the wall beside his head, the Slicingia was gone.

 

And a city breathed easier.

In an alternate timeline, the concert at which Corazon Valenzuela found her powers was "attacked," not by supervillains intent on kidnapping her, but by C.L.O.W.N. They had intended to make a pointed statement about the (ab)use of a mere teenager, and how others were making a fortune off displaying her.

 

Under the shock of really seeing, for the first time, how she was being exploited, Corazon's powers manifested. So did her suppressed anger.

 

With her powers usable, and a wish to show up the world, Corazon joined C.L.O.W.N. Code name? Sapphire Jester.

Not much is known about this liquid pile of radioactive goo, but it does seem to be at somewhat sentient and will take the animal form of the animal part that it touches. Because it can not maintain any shape coherency, the shape quickly becomes deformed or melted. He used to be called "Mercury Cougar" until a certain car company sued.

Richmond French was 14 years old when he first transformed into a werewolf. As usually is the case becoming a werewolf is a wee bit disturbing to the victim. This "illness" made him very paranoid. He stopped going out at night on full moons. (as he learned he only transformed after his skin was exposed to moonlight.) He eventually went to college and became a leading genetic scientist. He used his learning to try and find himself a cure. Eager and impatient he tried his concoction without proper testing. Unfortunately, it did not cure him. ANd in fact, gave more abnormalities, but these were somewhat blessings. First, he discovered that he could transform at will (barring the full moonlight exposure thing which still caused him regardless to transform). Second, if he had transformed at will, he retained his intelligence/personality. And third, he had superspeed in werewolf form.(not quite "speed zone" level, but more along the lines of Mach 2). And he decided to use his abilities to join up with the local superhero group (of course )

 

Tactics

 

Although, he generally goes for the move by/move through. He has developed a little tactician in him. He does have some strength (but not overly so) in werewolf form (about 30STR or so). He essentially is 2 different werewol fighters. On non-full moon transforms (willing transformations) he cant go over Mach 1. But, when he is forced into transformation by the moonlight. That strength I mentioned multiplies (50-55 STR). ANd he can reach up to Mach 2 in speed. But, it cost him his intelligence. And he become the bestial fighter and may even attack his friends (though close friends may be able to talk to him to calm is bestial urge to attack them, though not advised). Oh and remember being a werewolf he has claws and fangs.

 

Appearance

 

Nothing special: As a human about 5"11 170-180 lbs. And very average looking. He doesnt look like the classic "nerd" much at all. As a werewolf, just your average looking werewolf except his fur is silvery in color

 

 

Personality

 

Like most canines, he is very loyal to his friends (provided he hasnt transformed under the full moon). Generally, he stays within the pack, and follows his teammates, rather than being the flashy "alpha" of the team. He prefers to be a contributor than one who shines.

 

Powers

Essentially a werewolf speedster.

Age: 30

Sex: Male

Race: white

Appearance: medium build, short brown hair, green eyes, a small scar on the left side of his face.

 

He is a private detective with psychic powers. As the name implies, he can look at a picture of a person, place, or thing and track it to wherever he, she, or it is. So far, his limit is anywhere on Earth, but he has never been a picture of someone or something on another planet.

 

Except for his psychic powers, he is a normal person. He carries a handgun, and he is pretty good at martial arts, but he wouldn't last long in a fight with a real super-villain. Usually he is called by the police to find someone when conventional methods fail.

 

Robert charges very high fees for his services, so he has become very wealthy. He also enjoys drinking, smoking, gambling, and hot blonds. For that reason, he is usually is debt to someone.

I know this is odd, but I got an idea for Phototracker and since no one else has..

 

Phototracker

 

Jeremy Via was a a decorated Green Beret. He had received 2 medals in his tour in Afghanistan. Here he was in Iraq, then BOOM!.......

 

When he came too in a hospital every was dark, he was blind. He knew the military part of his life was over......

 

FOr the next 2 years he first recovered, luckily he didnt suffer anything permanent other than his eyesight, then drifted into homelessness after his discharge. Until he was kidnapped.....

 

....By VIPER, one of there scientist was into experiments with the usual enhanced soldier thing. They injected him with some strength enhancing drugs (something to do with Rhinoceros beetle DNA from what he could hear). But, most important, he could now see thanks to new cybernetic eyes. Though it was in the Infrared spectrum, he could. He then unleashed his new strength on the hapless VIPER scientist and made his escape. ANd now he has become the newest street vigilante: The Phototracker.

 

 

Powers.

Enhanced Strength (Iremember an episode of Most Extreme on Animal Planet that a Rhino beetle could lift 800 times his own weight or if human sized a tank, so 55 STR?) But, his name comes from the fact he sees in Infrared which is helpful as he just so happened to have picked tracking in the military. ALso, to remember his military experience and being a Green Berets he learned quite a few way to kill a man. Not to mention he is a crackshot. (though his enhanced strength might make that unneeded a bit) He also is fairly darned good in stealth warfare. (A sneaky brick, uh oh )

 

Appearance

Well, his appearance is fairly normal. 6"0 190-200 lbs. Muscles very toned. (the drugs didnt alter his body appearance). But, his cybernetics eyes glow red, which means he has to wear "special" sunglasses when in public.

 

Personality

Queit and reserved. Especially after the injury.

Kyle was a loser.

 

He was brought up into gangs, and worked his way up to become a hit-man for the mob.

 

But Kyle not only liked killing. He liked watching people suffer s-l-o-w-l-y.

 

So he sought out demons, technological experts, and anyone who would help him make people suffer. The slower the better.

 

He doesn't even know who gave him his abilities. One day he woke up, and he cut someone the mob just wanted to be an example.

 

The cut was small. But it started rotting the skin of the poor victim. A slow rotting of the skin, from just a small slice. Oh, how Kyle - no, the rotting slicer - loves his new found powers.

Raven Breed is one of the most mysterious thieves to come along in quite a while. Seemingly he is able to get into any place, no matter how well guarded, and make off with even the heaviest and bulkiest items. And every time, he leaves behind some small object with a raven theme, but never the same twice.

 

Some experts in criminalistics believe the item is an obscure clue to his next theft, but if so, no-one has been able to "decipher" the clue, save in retrospect.

 

The name "Raven Breed" is a creation of the newspapers, based on one "reporter" (not that he deserves the title) who speculated the thief had his DNA altered to be part-raven.

 

 

Actually, someone has invented a teleportation device; the raven motif was chosen at random, as part of the thief's effort to mislead the police.

Ok, I am going to try to combine the 2 names into one (like was done earlier with Feather Stab and Slicingia)

 

 

No one is quite sure why the supervillainy duo of Duelmaster and Green Shifter teamed up, though rumors in the criminal underworld is that they are either brothers or first cousins. But, they are a tough mystical duo to deal with.

 

First, the Duelmaster. Interesting guy. He is an obsessive card collector. ANd these cards are his power. He has specialized in obtaining practically every single Magic: The Gathering card in existence. ANd when he pulls a card out of the deck he can now actually summon what is own that card into existence. To due his bidding or a spell cast or what have you.

 

Powers

Basically, he plays a kind of solo Magic: The Gathering game. (He has his own "rules" which he cant/wont deviate from but you get the drift)

 

Tactics

 

Generally stays away from the action in some secluded place where he throws his minions and spells into action.

 

Appearance and Personality

Little known. By all acounts a smallish guy (5"1 or so). Criminal sources say his eyes are very "devious" looking. Black hair, glasses. Facially, kind of a more menacing looking Mandark from Dexter's Lab. Personality wise, he seems to be very sadistic, with little empathy for others. It has been said he light to dress in clothes similar to the Emperor from Star Wars, too.

 

 

 

 

ANd then there is Green Shifter. He seems to be a mage like his brother/cousin/friend because his big power seems to be that he can "phase into" any kind of green background (exact shade doesnt matter). ANd it doesnt matter the size. He can phase into a small leaf even. But, since this is the only "spell" he has shown he may be just a mutant of sorts. He is more hands on than Duelmaster. He seems to act as some kind of on-field general at times for Duelmaster's minions. He does have enhanced strength of some kind (maybe the same Rhino-beetle DNA injection that I gave my version of Phototracker", come on let me work it in somewhere. ). He also seems to be a well-versed martial artist.

 

Tactics/Personality/Appearance

 

He seems to love battle. Definitely the muscle of the team. He seems to fight with some intelligence. But, it could be he is some kind of "fighting savant". He loves the challenge of fighting a super. THough, barring strength, and his little "chameleon" skill he likely can be overmatched (unless Duelmaster has a lot of minions in play). He seems to be about 6"2 225 lbs and looks like he goes to the gym at least semi-regularly. Dresses in green. Except for a black "executioner" mask. (for some reason the mask disappears into the green background too.

 

It also should be mentioned that Green SHifter seems to have some mental link of sorts with the Duelmaster.

Ghost armour

A forgotten samurai's armour found it's way into the hands of Archeologist Manny Pulmero, a shortish man who specialised in Asian artifacts. It was unlike any he had ever seen and the armour was made from some material unlike any he had ever encountered, both light and durable.

 

He tried it on for a laugh, got his friends to take a picture. But when he put the helmet on, he disappeared. He was never seen again.

 

In that time period. The Ghost armour was a gift from the future, it was preset to find one of the anscestors Maghal Lee, a freedom fighter from the year 2307 who had died in battle against alien invaders. They hoped it would find someone who could wear his battle armour and save them all, since the armour was made so only someone with his DNA could use it and activate the time travel device.

 

What they got was Manny. He's been trying really hard to lead these people to freedom, but the suit is really confusing and he just wants to get home.

 

Powers: The suit gives the wearer enhanced strength, and instant knowledge of combat fighting styles from thousands of years. It also allows small time manipulation, allowing Manny to slow down time and react faster then normal. He might discover more uses in time. Assuming he lives long enough. The aliens really want the leader of the resistance dead, thinking he is still Maghal (The DNA matches, and the armour covers the face).

 

Another fact. the armour will not come off, unless the wearer is dead, nor can it be used by anyone besides a direct blood relative. Luckily it has sanitary conditions inside, and it has a hologram system that allows one to disguise the armour (but not the person underneath).

 

The next character is:

Edge Lad

Edge Lad: John Carrington was an ordinary 20's-ish "slacker". No big ambitions, content with a dead end job, just hanging with his friends.

 

Which is what he was doing (at a mall, of course), the day a supervillain/superhero fight broke out. During the mayhem, a large part of the ceiling of the mall's "food court" collapsed. John wasn't the only bystander crushed, and not quite the only one pretty much flattened, but he was the only one hit by a ricocheting force beam from Life Lass, all of whose powers involve life and health

 

The result is that John lived. He continues to live. Despite being (mostly) less that 0.1 mm thick. Of course he's insane; he can barely be said to think. And he's dangerous; he's thin enough to cut things, and those parts or his edge that are bone can cut flesh. Indeed, he's a lot harder than he "should" be; a side effect of him staying alive, in all likelihood.

 

As for his appearance --- let's not discuss that, shall we?

Bug Pacer.

 

Steven was going to rule the world. He knew it! With his teleport capsule he could transport anything anywhere anytime and no-one would be able to trace it back to him! Not even Dr Destroyer had this much power!

 

Steven felt like a god! And it was all thanks to his secret power source!

 

But what to do first... Well Everyone get hungry. So Steven locked onto some fast food in a McRonalds on the otherside of the planet and got ready to push the button.

 

Unbeknownst to Steven a Slater had crept its way inside his generator and was busily wandering across his 'power source'... The Bizzare energy surged and asorbed the slater. The machine, encountering a different energy signature tried to dump it, but it had no where to dump it.

 

The last thing steven saw was a blinding flash and then his world went dark.

 

What awoke a little while later was a combination of Dr Steven Jong and a Slater. It also ate some cold Maccers...

 

Powers: With a strong exoskeleton, Buggy Strength and the ability to teleport perfectely, Bug Pacer fights for justice, freedom and maybe a snack or two.

 

Personality:

Bug Pacer is confused. He's not quite sure how he fits into this world. He mainly fights evil as it occurs around him. He desires human company but also finds that around alot of people he just wants to curl up into a little ball.

 

Appearance: A Human with a black chitinous sheel, large chitin plates over his back, 4 arms and 2 legs. He also has antennae and compound eyes.

 

He'll usually be seen with a Maccers bag in one of his hands.
