Phoenix Posted January 12, 2009 Report Share Posted January 12, 2009 Hello all; I'm having a hard time trying to build a personal adversary for one of my PC's. The concept is a video game programmer that, ahem, discovered a way to bring her video game characters out of the game and in to the world (i.e. Summoning, and lots of it). The adversary I'm attempting to build is the result of her computer getting a virus that ends up being projected in to reality (... I cannot believe I just said that). So far all I can come up with as powers a computer virus/worm/trojan/etc would have is duplication (they always make copies of themselves) and teleport (how did I get that in there) as concept abilities. This part suggests replicators from the Stargate TV series to me. And 'human replicators' from that show are not too different from the liquid metal Terminator from T-2. Give it the Disad 'Only Versus (Hero's) Powers', which should make for a big discount on cost, and thus easy to buy up to a fair-sized level. Maybe also get Duplication. Just apply that to people instead of machinery. Mental Transform people into vegetables, or transfer IQ to a power like growth or duplication with a delayed return rate. Desolid - For bypassing security Transform - If the virus creates zombies or bots, either way. Regeneration/Resurrection - If the original virus is killed just move to one of the copies, see above. Suppress/Drain Int and/or End - Eating up processing power VPP: Defense Powers - You zig, it zags Ego Attack - Autofire - SPAM!!! Shape Shift - If the virus was used to create a Phisher Site And of course the Disadvantage PsyLim: Convinced it is a Nigerian Prince. And then don't give him any offensive powers. Make him cyberkinetic, allowing him to control both machines (Defender: "How can my suit be robbing a bank? No one is in it!") and the other video game characters. For example instead of robbing a bank, he walks up to an ATM machine and deletes all the accounts for the bank. No one owns the money and he causes chaos. He doesn't really have a purpose (he was made by a teenager with nothing better to do) so he just messes up machines. To answer one question: any/all virus types - it could become a collection of ills. Also, do you folks think this would be encompassing enough to justify an Elemental Control Framework? One other part of the inspiration for this villain was this image I stumbled upon and thought to myself 'What a neat looking character'. But, I do seem to have that effect on computers. On a serious note. Computer viruses make me think "spell". But, I dont think that would be the best idea. Though transform could work, though.
