Dr. MID-Nite
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! It's been easy to overlook that Gravitar has vast wealth, many influential social connections, and significant scientific expertise in addition to her great power. The only thing that's held her back in the minds of some CU denizens (and Champions gamers) from being taken seriously as a world-class threat is her sometimes childish attitude and behavior. She started her career young but has had time to mature, and her last recorded attack against Washington suggests she's become more focussed. Well, the 6E CU now has Kinematik, a renamed and upgraded version of Momentum from VVV, whose explicitly pro-mutant agenda makes him a much closer analogue to Magneto than Gravitar is. He'll be in the "Master Villains" book too IIRC. Interesting....wonder why the name change? Yeah...he's probably closer to Magneto than Gravitar. Honestly, I never got why she was always compared to Maggie besides the fact that they're both mutants. Marvel has Graviton...so it Gravitar has an analogue...it's him..not Magneto. I liked her 5th ed writeup, but she was just too bloody powerful for me to unleash...and in general..I had other bad guys to use...so I never got around to having her "make her mark" as it were... Dr Lucky
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! That cover looks fantastic. I'm really getting excited to get a new Champions game underway. Also, not really related to the cover, but since people seem to be answering questions... Are the Villians books going to touch on the "organizational" villians (ARGENT/DEMON/VIPER) at all?
Steve Long
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! Are the Villians books going to touch on the "organizational" villians (ARGENT/DEMON/VIPER) at all? No. Those organizations are too big to fit into a book covering villains. They'll get their own books, sooner or later.
Steve Long
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! Interesting....wonder why the name change [from Momentum to Kinematik]? Because I considered Momentum a very bland name. It didn't matter much when he was first introduced, but since I want to raise his profile a bit he needed a better name.
Hugh Neilson
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! A name change or three wouldn't hurt - the characters in the comics change their names too (and they didn't all start out with names like Human Top or Paste Pot Pete)
jms1973
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! All of these 6th Edition covers have been absolutely fantastic! I don't know if I have ever seen better comic artwork. If the inside is half as good as the outside then we're all in for a real treat. Thunder92
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! I like the similar style to the Champions Universe cover, but the art is a bit better. Great job!
Checkmate
Re: CHAMPIONS VILLAINS Sneak Peek #1: The Triptych Cover! So far I can identify some of the bad guys but not all. Both versions of Dr Destroyer, Mechanon, Fiacho, Cheshire Cat, Firewing, Foxbat, Grond, Mindslayer, Armadillo, Ankylosaur, Binder, Cateran, The Monster, Gigaton, The Empress of 1,000 dimensions, Ladybug, Black Anubis, Zig Zag, Black Harlequin, Black Paladin, Slug, Dark Seraph, Cobra, Black Diamond, Dr Lin Wu, Mentalla, Zorran the Artificer, Thunderbolt, Talisman, The Time travelling villain, The Brain (I recognise but need a book to ID) to be continued I definately prefer the "Old" Dr. Destroyer. The new one reminds more more of a Necromancer with Bone Armor than a technological master. Pulsar and Howler are in there too, and that's proabably Menton in the suit behind "The Old" Dr. Destoryer
