Organization on the Drawing Board: The Law Offices of Vernon, Baker & Mannheim

Looking to flesh out a law firm I'm creating for my game world. Below are the details I've worked out thus far:

Organization Name: Vernon, Baker & Mannheim

Type of Organization: Law Firm

Location of HQ: Millennium City

General Description: Often derisively referred to as "Vermin, Baker & Mannheim", the firm is infamous for having (successfully) defended a long and distinguished list of supervillains and organized crime figures in criminal court. The firm has other divisions for family law, civil law, etc. but the criminal defense division is and always has been their bread and butter.

Do you have access to the 5E Champions sourcebook Cops, Crews, And Cabals? There's an organization described there called "Villainy Unlimited" which provides a variety of services to supervillains. Legal representation is a major part of what they offer, and they're specialists in supervillain defense; but they also offer bail bonding, insurance, medical care, money management, mediation and negotiation, even costumes. VU won't do anything blatantly illegal that could be linked to the company, but they're very good at exploiting legal loopholes and grey areas.

VU is officially based in Millennium City, but if you don't want to use them whole you might be able to adapt parts to your purposes.

Don't currently have a copy, but it sounds like something worth looking into. Thank you.

Sounds like they'd have good professional relations with the firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe...

This is Marcus Impudite. You know one of the 3 (at least) has to be supernatural in some sort.

Evil, Supernatural Lawer. Let's point to the obvious: A Devil (Lawfull Evil)

Could be half Devil or Full Devil. Is either on loan from hell or maybe he has been banished.* Maybe he has no access to his powers (would explain why he is doing this), or at least not while in a Court (important as he could otherwise influence the jury/judge).

In adition to supernatural law, he is also expert in contracts ("deal with the devil" and all) and defense of "Monsters" (usually by claiming discrimination based on looks**).

*Maybe he once showed mercy or compassion and thus has to "atone" for this "good-doing" in the world of the Living.

**It would make sense that a unhidden Devil is "discriminated" against.

Actually this time, if there is going to be a supernatural being in the firm, it's going to be someone the players would least suspect. That pretty much means the three senior partners are going to be normals. Damned good lawyers, but still pretty much normals. Vernon, Baker, & Mannheim is going to be a fairly large firm with at least three divisions and lots of junior partners, associates, and other employees; any one of whom might have a secret...

Speaking of the senior partners, some first names for these fellows might be a good starting point.

I have an idea for a nickname for one. There was a baseball player in the early part of the 20th century named Frank "Home Run" Baker. Home Run might be a good nickname for a successful lawyer.

Vernon has to be John.

Have you considered going one step further in the derisive Name? It would require established bad-guys with names taht are similar to Baker/Mannheim to stand in for it as Vermin for Vernon.

Patterns idea with the classical name sheme is also nice.
