Christopher
There's Floronic Man...Or Swamp Thing Or Man-Thing...I guess you could also watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers or the Day of the Triffids. Of course it might be hard to come up with a hero out of those two movies. ) And let's not forget "Attack of the Killer tomatoes". Also there are some nice plant monsters in collectible card games like magic the gathering green deck.
mattingly
My favorite is "El Seed" from the Tick universe. A player in an old Champions campaign had a plant-based character, and as we were brainstorming names for him, my favorite (which wasn't the one picked) was "Power Plant." hawkfu
In our game we made a character named Eden - a tree woman. http://walter-champions-rpg-2013.blogspot.com/2014/09/eden.html I think the write up was largely based on those in Until's Superpowers. The Arc
And it's sequel Return of the Killers Tomatoes, which is odd in itself, because the original isn't available on Netflix, but the sequel is.
The Arc
Let's not forget Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man. I think I heard that Black Orchid had a plant origin...
