  2. Re: Taming the Slayer Buffy's supporting cast wins 100% over Tam's. Tam has... a few guys good with some fancy guns, plus a spaceship Buffy has... a supernaturally powerful girl army, a handful of supernatural creatures, her world's most powerful spellcaster, a few other minor spellcasters, and a handful of mundane combat experts. And maybe a giant sister, or something.
  3. Re: Inverting Limitations Unless the armor is Life Support in a space campaign (or something similar that it is actually dangerous to remove), I would call it OIHI (or is it... OINotHI?) or equivalent
  4. Re: Where is your campaign based? My current campaign is set in 'Coast City', a fictional city that is sort of a general amalgamation of Portland and Seattle. Where I grew up, of course!
  5. Re: Taming the Slayer Buffy regularly returns from the dead, and has a more fighty supporting cast (Slayer army now, lots of magic support). Not that this gives her the win, but something to consider.
  6. Re: Skill's in Frameworks - how did you made it? I've done it a few times... One as part of a 'copy' type character, to copy the skills of the person they are imitating One as a 'universal KS/PS/Science' library in a base One as a magical ritual that 'attuned' someone to an area, giving them the AK, CK, KS, and Language appropriate for the city they are in
  7. Re: Egg McGuffin The Golem isn't sure what to do, but I'm sure it would end up with him playing father to some horrible alien by the end Economaster, although she would feel dirty about it, would be forced by principle to set up intergalactic bidding wars on the egg
  8. Re: What have you Summoned? Robots... automated defenses for a base... groupies... ghosts... demons... I love the summon power (and the 'summoner archetype' in general)
  9. Re: Replacing You Here is how I see it playing out... random street punk is robbing some old lady. She feebly tries to fight back, but is no match for the hoodlum. Suddenly, she gets a second wind, he wounds were not as bad as she thought, and she begins kicking the young man in the kiester! (Second form; aid and boost the old woman to being more than capable of dealing with a 'skilled normal' type thug/agent) However, things take a turn for the worse. The thug was actually an agent of Bulk, the mutant gang leader, who decides to teach granny a lesson. Even boosted, she is no match for the mutant brick! A voice in her head says 'I can help you, if you let me!'. If she agrees, then *poof* her form shimmers and is replaced by the costumed spirit martial-artist! Take that, Bulk! Teach you to pick on old ladies! The fight one, the woman returns to her normal self, uninjured from the battle between the spirit and Bulk, and with no memory of the events past agreeing to be helped by the mysterious voice. Mind link is mainly for 'no language barrier' communication with the person I am aiding. And yes, I will not be able to use my 'full power' without someone to help, though I can still help out one of my superpowered teammates indirectly. Part of the limitations of the character. Not that helpless victims are a rare commodity in most super-hero genres.
  10. Re: Striking Appearance at 2-point level The most common use would be 'only for men' or 'only for women'... and in Sci-Fi campaigns, you'd get 'only to their own/similar species' (or, for frightening appearances of aliens: 'only to human characters')
  11. Re: Replacing You The third form replaces, not impersonates. Especially important given the Life Support powers the form has (rescue someone from drowning or what-have-you). The EDM is the only reasonable way I can think of to get someone completely out of danger. The 'Dimension' they are sent to is either a pocket-spirit world or (GM Willing) a point in the future when I end the power and we 'trade back' The costs of the Affects Physical powers will be high, no denying... but they don't need to be much. Some Combat Luck, CSLs, Presence, and SPD (Unified), plus Aid (CON, END, BODY, STUN), Heal, and maybe some HtH attacks in a multipower should cover most mundane threats.
  12. Re: Replacing You That's basically it... First form: desolid, invisible... role: find bad stuff happening Second form: desolid, possess someone (not using APG possession, doesn't control their actions)... boost them to help them deal with danger themselves (through Aids, Healing, and UOO powers) Third form: Physically manifested, 'replaces' their body (so that the victim is safe) so that all damage/danger goes to me. Kick butt Martial Artist style, dealing with danger when the victims cannot, even with help.
  13. Re: Replacing You 'missing' isn't an issue, willing targets only... and I'm already 'inside' them to make it work, right? Haven't written it all up yet, but I *think* they only get vague impressions of what is going on (through the already-established Mindlink)
  14. I'm writing up a character... she is a spirit (reformed spirit of vengeance) with three 'multiforms', who's heroic shtick is to help victims defend themselves more than directly intervene (but can if necessary)... ~A desolid form with very little ability to affect the world; ~A form that is still desolid and 'possesses' someone (giving them lots of Aids, Healing, and 'Usable By Other Powers) ~A form that replaces the possessed person with her own body. In this last form, I want to 'displace' the person using EDM UOO, linked to the multiform. When I write this up; should I place the EDM on the same 'character' as the Multiform (probably the desolid one); or should it be put on the Replacement Form in some sort of Triggered effect?
  15. Re: Powering Up With Multiform I use this construct for berserker characters sometimes... especially useful as it can chance your class of mind for the 'totally taken over by my demonic possession (Mind changes from Human to Alien: Demon)'; or 'Organic Input Offline, Switching to Autonomous Defense Mode (Mind from Human to Computer) Or, in some high fantasy settings... I'm completely berserk BLAHALKAKJLAKJALH (Mind from Human to No Class of Mind, because I'm written as an unstoppable 'Takes No Stun' automaton!)
  16. Re: WWYCD: Holes in the story The Economaster would graciously meet with the owners and discuss supply/demand, and suggest they bake more jelly or raise prices. Might finance the company and take over if their business sense looks poor.
  17. Re: Only while asleep Like... an astral projection duplicant? Or a real one? Anyways, as a Triggered power I'd put it at the 'character doesn't control trigger' limitation on (to reduce the cost of the advantage) and the concentration stuff. Already persistent and whatnot anyways, so no need to worry about it.
  18. Re: Only while asleep Sleeping is basically 'Concentration, must concentrate throughout, 0 DCV, Unaware of Surroundings', plus some extra hindrances on your mental defenses right? I'd look there for pricing guidelines.
  19. Re: The Beautiful People Why is he giving it away? Couldn't he have cleverly marketed it, made billions, and then... um... do whatever supervillains do with bottomless wealth?
  20. Re: Superhuman women less attractive in 6th Edition? Maybe I just like to spend points on bloat/fluff... and maybe I like sticking to comic conventions... But unless my character is specifically described as looking 'plain', I almost always buy a level or two of Striking Appearance for my superheros (sometimes limiting them to 'only in heroic ID' or something if they shapeshift or just 'clean up nice') because, much in the same way that almost all superheros are just a bit stronger, faster, and tougher (IE: STR, SPD/DEX, and STUN/BODY are bought up even if that doesn't have anything to do with their powers per-se) superheros just look better than average people. OR I end up buying Distinctive Appearances around their uglyness, swings both ways in the comic world I guess.
  21. Re: Damage Negation: how much? From a practical standpoint, buy it in multiples of 3 to make the math Vs KAs easier
