  1. Re: Wanted!

I read the paperback, and it was the worst read ever!

I waited and waited for something cool to happen but nothing!

The action is also lame there is no fighting as much as posing with guns.

Also you can just shoot all the supers without problem.

The way it works is that you see one picture off the main character flying through the air with shoting his guns, and in the next picture a couple of guys fall over, that is it really, there is no real fights.

  2. Re: Musings on Random Musings

I suspect my doctor is going to want to put me into therapy. I very much doubt that I have anything wrong with me other than anxiety when I leave the house. (My physical problems don't show up unless I have left the house and away from my "comfort zone" or so my counsler says).

What makes me even angrier is I've got a physical problem because of my anxiety and I can't figure out how to deal with it. I wish there was a better way to deal.

Do as the doctor says, the earlier you deal with the problem the better.

That "won’t leave the house" problem gets worse with age.

There is no better way to deal with it than the hard boring way.

  3. Re: Robert E Howard or J.R.R. Tolkien?

Oddly enough' date=' you hit the nail on the head as to why I prefer Tolkien. I like the approach where he backs away from the characters and focuses more on the world and the story itself. [/quote']

Yep Tolkiens characters are defined by what they do and that is not allways what I expect. Howards characters are allways very open to us, he often speak directly to the reader about the main characters motivation.

And why does some of the Howard fans attack Tolkien but not the other way around?

  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings

Received email back calling me names' date=' accusing me of lying, and basically saying "Oh, well. You should've bought insurance." [/quote']

Oh that is one of those scumbags that get angry at people they are stealing from/beating up. I never understand why some people need to convince themselves in such a manner.

In the book I was reading late last night' date=' the character, a masochist by nature, experiences the kind of pain even she can't handle: someone tries to skin her alive.[/quote'] What?

And the way I know I'm really tired and out of it is that, the last 12 times I've seen that message, EVERY time, I've checked to see who left it.

Is it the same person who wrote the story?

Is it just me' date=' or have we been having an inordinate number of trolls coming out of the woodwork the last couple of days?[/quote']

It is not just you, some gamers need levels, hitpoints and structure to achieve gamebalance and have fun, and some of those are envious of those who don’t.

They see Herogames greatness and as such they gain greater understanding of their own limited game. This makes them angry and they attack.

  5. Re: Question

Just in case You did not get it:

Active cost is the cost of the power with all advantages but without limitations.

Real cost is after limitations is counted in.

Like the power fire scythe: active cost is 15 points for one d6 of killing, and increase that to 22 points for adding the armour piercing advantage. That is ACTIVE cost.

But the fire scythe power has a limitation also: increased end, it cost twice as much end to use this power and that is an (-1/2) limitation wich puts the cost of the power down to 15 points again. That is the real cost.

If I misunderstood and you already knew I am sorry to disturb you.

My son is home. My wife surrendered residential custody, and is willingly paying support. He's going to live with me from now on, and I am so glad of it.

As to my wife, I am shocked at her attitude toward all this. Its as if she's relieved she won't have to worry about our child's day to day needs anymore...

Or she know that the child is in good hands. Women are unpredictable and weird.
