  1. Re: Don't be a hater! Actually, Lucas has admitted that parts of Star Wars were based on the Japanese Movie, Seven Samurai.
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings 4 and a half hours into Sunday's moving process. Things aren't looking good. One person said he'd show up to help with moving things and is no where to be seen. Another isn't interested in moving. Alice offered pizza to people at her job if they would help and no one was interested. Some of this stuff we need help with and just can't do alone. It isn't looking pretty right now.
  3. Re: Autopilot I meant Precalculated Points, not Courses. Navigation is good for two uses. it is useful for figuring out where you are and figuring out the best way to get where you are going. If you bought it on itself, I don't think it needs to have TF to be able to operate itself. But that is more of a GM call than anything else.
  4. Re: Autopilot Hmmm. I'd give it Air Navigation; Only for Auto Piloting Precalculated Courses (-1/2).
  5. Re: Building Political Intrege I'm taking the power blocks notion a step further. I'm setting them up so that the top has the name and title in big letters. Below that line is a statement of the character's legal authority. Then I list disadvantages that would relate to power structure. And finally, any resources of note including contacts with individuals outside of the relationship chart that I'm designing. Once I have designed all of the notables, I'll do the placing of a circle trick. The other links and advice provided will help me work out the finer details to give them all a real feel that the players can care about. Power Block Example: Baron Astioc Ruler of Salicard PsyLim: Seeks to Earn King Aetis' Favor Rivalry: Outdo all Barons within the Duchey Wealth Contact: Duke
  6. Re: A Thread for Random Musings It occured to me last night that two of the members on this board may in fact be the same person. Of course my theory isn't as scandalous as Kara and Rachel, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.
  7. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I just brought Courtfool from 2 red dots to 1 red dot.
  8. Re: Villains and their Secret ID, post-trial This raises a very common problem I have encountered in my games. Villains built with Secret ID's are annoying because once caught, they can't use Secret ID any more.

    grrrr

Re: grrrr We should have a system of disenvowling posts.
  10. Re: Don't be a hater! Very true. But I thought of the notion long before I had made a very post on this thread. And really, all I did was form a suspicion.
  11. Re: Don't be a hater! I was expanding the base line to encompass all posters, not just moderators. I consider you intelligent enough to distinguish the difference between Worldmaker and Thrakazog (to pick two at random), not just moderators. But this is an equivocation here, nothing more. Interesting message that you have posted here. As the wording of this is vague to your intent, I will not state any opinion to what it was intended to mean. But your choice of refuring to my number of psychology classes taken I find particularly interested. But based on my message that you quoted when this was posted, I have some pretty good ideas what you meant here.
  12. Re: Don't be a hater! I like the use of "qualified" in there. And I am a psychologist. It may not be what takes home a paycheck, but it is something that I am. But you are mistaken if you think I'm making some sort of diagnose. But in any case, I see your point here. You figure your best way to address the situation is by highlighting the fact that I'm over here expressing an opinion on why I feel your reacting this way. By highlighting the point you can attempt to trivilize the rest of my point. And for the record, I know you have the ability to recongize the difference between the moderators and posters on here. But displacement isn't about ones ability to do that. It is a subconscious action and happens to be one of the most common subconscious defenses.
  13. Re: Don't be a hater! How convienient. HERO Games has been publishing books since 2001. And it just so happens that the only examples that Champsguy can come up with happen to come from posts that happend before the old boards and before the cybergames posts they have on the old boards. That in his claim, not a single example can be given of something recent. And the best example he has seems to be a bit of a stretch at that.
  14. Re: Don't be a hater! Oh, come on Agent X. Stop deluding yourself. In his PM to Darren he gave him evidence (his word, not Darren's). Darren asked for evidence of plagiarism. I have read more than enough of what Champsguy said. You are deluding yourself. Appeal to Authority. Champsguy is also a lawyer who has TWICE bypassed a banning. And the fact he is a lawyer doesn't mean all that much. It could be a case of reaction formation. The "I'm not suing or anything" doesn't mean anything about what he was calling it. It means he didn't care so much that it had been done.
  15. Re: Don't be a hater! No, you are missing the point Agent X. Plagarism is a big big accusation. In the world of a company that makes its living publishing books, it is equivalent to a student accusing a teacher of sleeping with student. Darren Watts quickly and correctly stepped in dealing with the issue. Besides, Champsguy is still able to access the old boards and find the particular posts and prove Darren Watts wrong. It won't get him unbanned of course, because Champsguy was intentionally bipassing an existing ban. But it would at least clear this whole issue. So if said posts exist, all he needs to do is take the time looking for them.
  16. Re: I dreamt of HERO last night. I haven't dreamt of HERO. I have, however, dreamt in HERO. I was trying to use something, I forget what, and kept failing to make the Activation Roll.
  17. Re: A Thread for Random Musings In case you missed the newsletter C-- was Champsguy and was banned.
  18. Re: Don't be a hater! This post has supported a small theory I had. I'm curious whether or not your entire position is based of an emotional reaction. You have a history with Darren in this case. You also, carefully choose not to reply to where I quite thoroughly laid down the fact that C-- did not deny accusations.
  19. Re: Don't be a hater! And to add on, they have nothing to gain from banning either due to martyrdom.
  20. Re: Don't be a hater! Except that in this case, Darren said to the effect of, "I won't have someone accusing me in my house of theft." C-- didn't say, "I'm not saying that." He said, "I won't apologize." In case your memory has forgotten, here is Darren's request:
  21. Re: Don't be a hater! In the chance that C-- gets himself unbanned. I wanted to address some of his expressed concerns. The zeitgeist is a very interesting theory that I think applies here. I had this idea for a character named Shardik who was a character who was trapped in the body of a sword. I started a thread on here and had a very interesting discussion on it. Then six months later, a DH article features a living sword built as a Player Character. I'm upset, legitametely because I had that idea and posted about and here it is. I spoke with the person who wrote it, and as it turns out he had simply thought of the idea as well and had started a thread on it much, much earlier than I. I know I never read a thread on this idea previous to me conceiving it. So it leads to one simple conclusion. We both had great ideas on our own. And while it certainly looked like it might have been someone stealing my idea, it was all a simple matter of perception.
