  1. Re: I touched it! I know I can't wait. I've already started designing my pulp campaign on this very site.
  2. Re: Hiding an IAF No player of mine would be able to sleight of hand a focus away without aborting a phase to do so.
  3. Re: Astrum Quadrivium Explorers A weekend without internet definitely got my productivity in gear. Here are some ideas I came up with: Tell-tale signs that the society predates any other known civilization. At the start of the game the civilization has been connected to ruins in East Asia, the African Desert, the African Jungle, a Jungle in South America, an Island off the coast of South America, and some ruins in Northern Canada. In truth, there are twelve ruins, one for each Zodiac sign. They are located in the following locations: Australian Outback Long Lost Ruins in the United Kingdom South American Jungle African Jungle East Asia Jungle Island off of Coast of South America African Desert In the Mountins of China Icy North of Canada Within the Vast Lands of Russia Sunken Ruins in the Mediteranian and last but not least... Deep below the deepest subway station in New York City
  4. Re: Low-Energy State Effects +4 Concealment, Only vs. Hiding from Infrared Detection
  5. Re: Low-Energy State Effects You want a VPP for Low Energy effects. I can think of lots of small powers that you would want but not powers you would normally spend the points on. For example: 1d6 Transform Water to Ice, Gradual Effect (x? Maximum Effect)
  6. Re: Low-Energy State Effects Definitely give the character: LS: Intense Heat
  7. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Moving In Day: ??? I've lost track of days. But the moving in process is still going. I took Tylenol PM before going to bed this morning and didn't wake up until 5:30 pm. That left little time to do things. Even still I had managed to move a bookshelf and unpack two boxes of books before Alice got home. Afterwards, we hit other boxes and cleared out at least four more. But then at 9:00 pm in the swing of unpacking, we got a phone call. Our old roommates from our old apartment had their baby today. I had promised to call people and inform them of the good news so the rest of the unpacking was lost to sharing good news. But I think I'm justified.
  8. Re: Beyond Conquerers, Killers, and Crooks: Your favorite villains? Viperia.
  9. Re: Astrum Quadrivium Explorers Questions that I need to answer at this time include: What is the Game Year? What Archtypes are needed with my players? Who are the major antagonists? What technologies did the Crossroaders possess?
  10. I've finally come to my decision on what sort of Pulp Campaign I'm going to run. I'm going to be posted details as I work it out here in the pulp thread so that others can share, contribute, or just steal the ideas as they want. In the game, for one reason or another the players have an interested in an ancient civilization known only as "The Crossroaders". The civilization once had cities located in Australia, Africa, East Asia, and South America. One of the mysteries is how this society was able to cross the globe with great ease. It is, of course, this mystery that will attract is fair share of advesaries. I figure the game will be mostly exploration of new lands and hunting down relics that were discovered by previous explorers and are needed for whatever reason. This is about all the information I have decided on so far, however.
  11. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER You must have 50 posts in your post count before you are able to get any Rep power.
  12. Re: A Thread for Random Musings "Why is my card deactivated?" "I'd hate to jump to conclusions sir but I would suspect it is because your account is overdrawn by $492.00."
  13. Re: Encounter Paradigms My approach has always been to go with the feel of the game. Sure I have ideas that I get that I like to throw in at the players, but I base a lot of what happens, encounter wise, on the actions of the player.
  14. Re: Damage Healing? We all do it. I totally forgot that Transfer existed for, like all of 2004.
  15. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER We are unpacking. Today we got my bureau into position and my clothing unpacked as well as most of the dishes in the kitchen and some of the misc. boxes. We still have books, gaming stuff, and a ton of other things to unpack. We are starting to get more and more floor space though which is a very good thing.
  16. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Charter Communications just sent me a nice little email informing me the date for my Internet installation has been pushed back exactly one week. I wonder, just exactly, how the hell I would have gotten this notification if I didn't have the ability to check my email at work.
  17. Re: Power Building Challange I had originally been building this as a suppression field. Hmmm.
  18. I have a challange for you. What is the cheapest way to build a natural immunity to magical effects? It doesn't need to be complete immunity to spells, but it needs to affect all spells benefitial or otherwise.
  19. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Unpacking Day 1: I found the coffee mugs and everything needed for the coffee pot. Caffeine addiction secure. I managed to get the huge bureau into the bedroom and after some discussion, Alice and I have figured out how get my bureau in as well. The space saved in the living room, where the big bureau had been, gave me room to move some things out of the den. I was then able to move a bookshelf and get Alice's computer setup. This process created enough room to begin unpacking some boxes. I Now have access to bowls. I went out to my car earlier and four ducks were siting in the lawn. It was surreal. When Alice got home from work, there were the four ducks. I took pictures. Herc has stopped hating us and Jeff has learned just how great this place is.
  20. Re: Don't be a hater! You know... I think your right. But the cast of characters I think was based on Seven Samurai. But it definitely was Akira Kurosawa.
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I hurt, a lot. Moving went aweful but we got the job done. I know for a fact two posts accidently got an email about my desperate cry for help. Yesterday was a day I never want to live through again. Just about every muscle in my body hurts. The more notable parts were when I fell into the entertainment center and messed up my kneecap and "rolling" a 60 pound, solid oak, $500 bureau at 11:45 pm up a deck and into our living room. If it wasn't for a friend who happened to get home when he did, we would have been moving until about 4:00 am. The place though is very nice. The only real space problem I think we will have is finding where to put my bureau. Everything else should fit in nicely. The unpacking process will take a while, but it shouldn't be that bad. I love the spot. I can step out onto the front porch and look up at a bluejay nest. I took a picture of my cat staring at the resident squirrel. Alice and I saw a rabbit in the back lawn. I got some pictures of that as well. Jeff has taken well to the place. Herc, however, is very mad at us and sulking around still.
