  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

Uh... I don't like looking at 4th ed stuff. My inking was so crude and it was so difficult mastering the brush to the point I wanted.

    But thank you.

Hey Storn. Everybody feels that way about their early stuff, no matter what it is they're doing. It's still your work, though. That means it's all good. :)

Thanks, again, for sharing with us.

  2. Re: Have you ever taken a fall?

My first Champs character Electron (a flying EP) was in a situation like this. He and his team Omega Force were fighting a supervillain group in the streets of Las Vegas. Electron was facing off against one of the villains, named Lucky Eddie, a trained “normal†whose only powers were mucho dice of Luck (as a power) and Unluck (UAA, at range). Electron and Eddie exchanged hits and many misses (due to Eddie’s luck powers) for a couple of Turns. Both of them were exhausted. Lucky Eddie was in the middle of an intersection, barely able to stay standing. Electron was flying towards him with his force field on. He was out of END (and burning STUN). He pushed his flight speed as far as he could, and flew right into Lucky Eddie. He lifted him off the ground and carried him back another 20 or 30 feet, where they both crashed to the ground unconscious. Neither one of them got back up.

There’s nothing better, or more dramatic, than a hero giving his all to get the villain.

  3. Re: Champions/V&V Conversions

I might be easily convinced to convert over FORCE, if anyone is interested. I always liked those modules. Plus, it would give me an excuse to play around with Hero Designer for a while.

I have those modules, and would be very interested in seeing conversions of those characters.

    ::standing ovation::

    BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO

Excellent work Chad. Thank you for sharing all of this incredible work with us. Take a little time off... you deserve it.

...but not too much time. :D

  5. Re: Animated Series Style Character Images

I got one of those exact gadgets for Christmas last year. The pen was a little frustrating to use the first time I tried' date=' so I put it in the "I'll get around to that when I have the time" category...which means it's ended up collecting dust. I'm going to give it a shot again. My buddy paid a pretty penny for it apparently, so I'd be a jerk not to use it.[/quote']

You're right about the pen. It took me a while to get used to the feel, but it's so much easier to use for drawing than a mouse or a notebook touchpad.

  6. Re: Animated Series Style Character Images

The only problem with that approach for me is that throwing a baseball and clicking a mouse are about the only two things I do right handed. I've tried using a mouse to draw in the past and I just can't manage the necessary level of control.

Ah...I see. I learned several years ago from a good friend how much it can suck at times to be a south-paw. My buddy Chey used to pull me aside and ask me to do careful scissors work for him. I had never realized before that point just how many things we use regularly that are not ambidextrously designed.

The best purchase I ever made was a graphics tablet. It's a Wacom Graphire3 4"X5". It's USB, comes with a pen and a full size mouse. I paid $99 plus tax a couple of years ago. I've seen them on-line from $75 to $99. If you want to actually "draw" on your computer (and have a real mouse, if you have a notebook) it's well worth the investment.

  7. Re: Animated Series Style Character Images

Jeez...every time I see that Seeker pic I made it looks goofier. I was pretty happy with how the weapon props came out on that one' date=' though.[/quote']

I'm not usually too big on the "animated" pics. I much prefer a more "realistic" look (George Perez, Neal Adams, Phil Jiminez). Like the look that your pics have in your campaign pics thread. However, your animated Seeker looks great. If he guest-starred on JLU that's exactly what he'd look like.

  8. Re: Hero A Day...Sorta...

I'm looking for help plugging holes in my NPC lineup. The problem is that its a big lineup. Check out this page. All of those characters with the word "Pending" next to them need developing from more than just my base idea.

In addition, I've got a list of Golden Age NPCs not yet listed on that web page, plus an entire raft of modern and Silver Age NPCs not on that list yet.

Will you guys post them here, to share with us?

  9. Re: The Destroyers

    Where's Death Commando?

    Where's Death Commando?!?

    Where's Death Commando!!??!!

That's what I get??? Not a hearty "Thanks Levi, for drumming these up and posting them so that the rest of us can benefit from your generosity. Gee What a nice guy, here's some Rep for ya!"

Instead I get "Where's Death Commando?" Geez!

Anyway, I never liked Death Commando and don't use him.

I apologize profusely, Mr. levi. I should have thanked you for sharing first, before asking about DC. Thank you very much. Also, I forgot to put a

:D after my question. Again I apologize. :o

    Consider yourself repped.
