  1. Re: Musings on Random Musings Never handled kidneys. I've dissected a few sharks though, so I have had to deal with liver. My recollection is that on average 1/3 or so of the body weight of a shark is liver. Having looked inside, I believe it.
  2. Re: Musings on Random Musings Well, yeah, it isn't JUST a filter. Kidneys aren't just filters either, but I'm not interested in eating them either.
  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings From what I can tell looking into it on the web, it isn't a matter of just not putting mayo on it. Mayo seems to be an integral part of it rather than just a topping that gets added.
  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings Not a big fan of fish eggs.
  5. Re: Musings on Random Musings You know, there have been a number of foods that you've mentioned here on the boards that I've looked at and said to myself "Self, that looks like it might be pretty good!". This is not one of those.
  6. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Ah. That would explain why the name was slightly familiar, but why I had no idea what it was.
  7. Re: No more "Abort to Dodge?" I've seen this basic thing happen IRL.
  8. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Cool! What's the Ryder Cup?
  9. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Congrats! Heading up towards 4 for Keri and I in another month and a half or so.
  10. Re: The cranky thread That's the problem: You need to keep it to one wife.
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings I saw them quite regularly when I lived in Minneapolis. Not so often anywhere else...
  12. Re: The cranky thread Yup. Unfortunately you have to balance it with not making it taste good and having kids refuse to take it at all. We've been fortunate that any medication we've had to give our daughter (over the counter painkillers have been the extent of it so far) she hasn't liked, but has for the most part been willing to take.
  13. Re: The cranky thread I'm always confused when I see people saying things like this. My iPhone does a wide variety of things that I find useful, and I'm able to install application that allow it to do even more. However if someone were to want to just use it as a phone, doing so is very easy. I guess I just don't see what it is about having extra capabilities that you don't want that makes the gadget harder to use for the things that you do want.
  14. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER From where I am sitting there are at least 5 places that I can get a cup of coffee with less than a 5 minute walk. One of them is in the same building I'm in, though on a different floor.
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings That's the cool think about conspiracy theories. A lack of evidence is a strength, and if someone actually takes the time to prove that the theory is false, that just shows that the conspiracy is right, since obviously no one would waste time proving them wrong if they weren't right.
  16. Re: Musings on Random Musings Pretty much where I am too. In a lot of ways I still miss living there. I imagine once I've lived out here long enough I'll have equal disdain for the team(s) out here.
  17. Re: Musings on Random Musings Not everyone keeps up with the latest TV fads. For instance America's Got Talent has been on even longer than that, and I couldn't tell you the name of a single person who has been on it. Heck, I couldn't tell you who any of the judges are either.
  18. Re: The cranky thread Cool on the pain going away! Much sympathy on the moving. I hate moving.
  19. Re: Musings on Random Musings I lived in Denver for quite some time (17 years give or take), and spent a fair amount of time around a fair number of pretty fanatic football fans. Not particularly liking football myself I'd have to say that yes, watching the Donkeys getting the stuffing knocked out of them might take out some of the sting of being forced to watch a game. Particularly since the football liking majority voted to force the rest of us to subsidize their entertainment for them.
  20. Re: Musings on Random Musings On the plus side, Denver is a really nice place.
  21. Re: Hero system complexity MERP was more Rolemaster lite. But then again I started playing Rolemaster before it was called that. Heck, before it was really anything but Arms Law grafted onto D&D.
