Re: The cranky thread I've had that problem too, especially in this thread. I thought it could be due to deleted posts. Whenever I posted a message, it appeared at the top of the "phantom" page as the most recent post. However, I've had posts that still appeared in the same page I was reading, and the phantom last page still appeared. Now on to my gumblings... 1. I am BORED! I want to do something, but I don't know what to, and I don't have the money to do it anyway. 2. A coworker is starting to get uppity and hostile again. Time for another showdown.

Re: Is it worth it to make stuff on your free time without even playing them? I work on my campaigns for several months, even years. I want to create as complete a campaign as possible. I research elements I want to include in the campaign, be it art or technology. If I'm building an entire world, I include some basic science so that it looks believable to the players. I tend to create campaigns that are mostly realistic, with some cinematic elements to spice up the campaign. That being said, I've created campaign settings on the fly. In these cases, I'm loosening up and letting my creative juices go wild. I don't develop these campaigns very much, however. I will admit to using ideas from other sources (film, rpgs, etc.) to make my work a bit easier. But I modify them to suit my campaign. Sometimes I drop them if they turn out not to be a good fit after all.

Re: Is it worth it to make stuff on your free time without even playing them? Maybe, but there are a few things that take precedence over gaming right now. Perhaps when I'm ready to run my campaign and find the time to do it.

The current campaigns either haven't been able to grab my attention or are closed. I don't have time to run my own game right now, but I pop in once in a while.

Re: Musings on Random Musings It depends on what's going on at work. A couple of years ago, under the old admins, I wouldn't have complained about working extra hours. Under the current admins, I can't get out of work fast enough. I may need the money, but I need my sanity even more.
