she feels it's her duty to inspire "strong feelings" about America, because she loves it so much--she feels her various costumes make her look, "pretty" and chooses not to see the other side of it....
the character was inspired by britney in her early days--the whole "i CAN be a good girl, dress like a wet dream and shake my ass in peoples' faces" --vibe she (and many of her contemporaries) had, and still have, going on....
i remember reading an interview with her in "rolling stone" where they asked her about how she felt seeing so many 40 year old men in the front row at her concerts, to which she responded, "i'd really rather not think about it...."
....i figured that if britney can do it, why not a super-heroine?
