    Power Rangers

    Re: Power Rangers
  4. Re: Defining a power... help please. how about a vRKA, with an END battery; it starts at 0pts and only recharges by TRANSFER from nearby ferrous metals; limited by the amount of metal nearby (within range of the power).... on '12', you roll the transfer dice and that determines how many points you get to use with that power for the next turn (how much metal she could "scoop up").... she could then either fire it off in small bursts or one big hunk--when she runs out, she has to spend another phase scooping up more points.... but since she's actually drawing the points out of the bod/def of things around her that gives you the opportunity to have situations arise due to damage to the surrounding area (those steel girders had to come from somewhere....)
  5. Re: Hacker's Laptop Computer i do believe that there's a hacker super-villan in either MILLENIUM CITY, KKC, or DARK CHAMPS--you might want to take a look at one of those....? somebody help me narrow this down....?

    Pulp archtypes.

Re: Pulp archtypes. the sleazy, womanizing, gigolo; the dim-witted giant; the wild-beast-turned-to-evil-purposes; the wonder-dog/horse; the girl-friday (not the heroine/ingenue--the gumshoe's plucky secretary); the dare-devil pilot; the evil enemy agent (usually ethnic, and oily); the heroic secret agent (square-jawed, and two-fisted); the master-of-disguise; the noble canadian mounty; the master-slueth; the three 'musketeers' (range riders, college chums, war-buddies, etc....) cheap-laughs the cowboy sidekick the meddling 'kid(s)' (they need to be rescued A LOT) the crimeboss the stilleto/ice pick killer (prefers silent kills, enjoys killing) the brutal thug/silent, ugly, giant/huge-handed strangler the wise-cracking cabbie
  11. Re: Guns vs. Armor actually, i was referring to the EDSEL's original post about how effective DC/RL body armor is and how that may negatively effect play in DC, since guns don't seem to be able to hurt people at first, i was trying to make the point that you can still play a dangerous action/adventure scenario without spending a lot of time tooth-gnashing about the effectiveness of body armor, and offered some admittedly off-the-cuff/over-the-top suggestions as to how he could do so.... then i responded to STORNS's post about how important a sense of 'realism' is to players of DC, (which he made, probably in response to my own somewhat outlandish suggestions) and how he felt it was important that gameplay try to reflect how things actually are--to which i responded with the idea that striving for too much realism in an attempt to recreate, which is actually cinematically inspired, genre-fiction storytelling, may put one across purposes from playing hero, and having fun--just a caution, not an admonition.... i'm wasn't trying to tell anybody how to run their campaigns, just suggesting that time spent being creative about the use of system mechanics and tactics, or the placement and design of NPC villains would be a more effective way to deal the body armor issue, than time spent researching RL body armor statistics--if i came off as trying to tell people how to run their games, that was not my intent--i was simply offering my suggestions, which is why i assumed the question was posed here in the first place.....
  12. Re: Moon Knight........ oh i guess if you want to be FACTUAL--NONE of the marvel heroes were killing people except the punisher and nick fury, prior to the 'WOLVERINE-I-ZATION' OF THE MU during the 80'S (unless you want to count during WWII, which i dont.....)
  13. Re: Guns vs. Armor uuuuuhhh, i think people are missing the point--this is CHAMPIONS, not REALITY.... players should be able to beat the crap out of everybody except those people who are SUPPOSED to give them a challenge, i.e. other characters of their point level, or higher.... and if guns as written aren't effective against your characters, start lobbing flash-bang or gas grenades--start dropping buildings on the heroes if you have too--the idea is to 1) play a scenario WITHIN GENRE CONVENTIONS; 2)for EVERYONE--GM included--to have a good time.... if your characters start bringing in the latest hi-tech stuff, so should you villans--that's what MERCS and THUGS are for--dip 'em in NOMEX, and send them out to soak up the lead while the real villain runs away to fight another day....WHATEVER!!--if your characters can justify it for themselves then it should exist for everyone to use.... not that anyone has access to it--when RAMROD, THE KILLER PIMP has access to body armor things are pretty out of whack--but the HIRED KILLERS the mafia calls in to deal with your players should have their own superior methods of avoiding damage, or dishing it out to the PC's--otherwise, what's the point?
  14. Re: Moon Knight........ well, most super-heroes are vigilantes because they operate without official sanction from the government or law-enforcement agencies, so i don't see why he has to one or the other....? do you mean does he kill bad guys?--oh yeah--he's an ex-mercenary for hire, who turned his skills to warring on those beyond the reach of the law, etc.... BTW--the character is about to be re-introduced in marvel's ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN
  15. Re: Has anyone done a write up for the old DC character the Vigilante?
  16. Re: Which Edition of Champions/Hero System Worked Best for Your Champions Campaign? we play 4th, but i buy 5th ed materials because they are FULL of good ideas--SUPER-SKILLS for instance....
  17. Re: Laughing gas #2 should be an entangle based on ego, invisible to normal attacks-- the special effect is that the target does nothing but laugh--unless they are strong willed enough to control their laughter (break the entangle).... #1 should be as above, + backlash, and maybe linked to a body drain with the defense being life support....
  18. Re: Super humans populations in cities ok--that works in the short-term--that even explains why they return year, after year.... but i still don't know why they hang around during the 'off season'

  22. Re: Jennifer Lopez, supervillian there's nothing here to reflect the legendary hypnotic power of ms. lopez's rear end--or the detriment it causes her as an undisguiseable distinguishing characteristic....
