  2. Re: Street Fighter II HERO The good news:There is a new Streetfighter RPG in the works. There are plans for books on Streetfighter, Art of Fighting, Darkstalkers and Final Fight as supplements. The (possible) bad news:Its going to be a d20/OGL game.

  6. Re: What superhero character concepts are you tired of seeing? Characters who's sole purpose is to be at the maximum the campaign allows for everything. Ususally have a concept like "All Being, Mutant Son the Gods".
  7. Re: Join Team Freedom! I ususally don't like Teleport Usable as an Attack. Just too much potential for abuse.
  8. Re: Can you suggest some powers for these images? Thanks for all the great suggestions. I like Hydra. I was stuck for a name for her. I'm not sure exactly what some of these pictures are. They are commisions, the first is Pheonix, a cyborg.
  9. Just some neat super hero/villian art my friend did. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some powers for these characters? I have some idea, but I tapping creative minds is always fun. BTW and just to pimp. He does comissions for 10 dollars a piece.
  10. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! Let me add, that I see nothing wrong with racy, risque things (I did write up Kekko Kamen ), or even down right erotica/porn but there is a time and a place for such things. The character submitted was little more than a mysigonistic and rather juvemile sexual fantasy submitted for a game that supposed to be relatively serious and "gritty" even when dealing with adult themes.

  12. Re: Join Team Freedom! Looks cool. I ususally like Uran's work.
  13. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! I had a player once submitted a character named "Celestine Unidine Natalia Travis". Check the initial's carefully. Her primary abilities were breasts that produced a fluid that transformed people into 24 Com being with exxagerated sexual features and a 3 foot long prehensile clitoris. I found out later he'd submitted this "Character" to several games.

  18. Re: Join Team Freedom! In most games I am familar with the game works much like a face to face game except the GM resolves most mechanics beyond character generation. He posts the actions of the NPCs, the results of character action, etc as narrative the players respond too. It is slower than face to face play but can have a higher degree of description and PC development.
  19. Re: Join Team Freedom! Those are good ideas. I had some similar ones as well.
  20. Players in the Zombie Dawn campaign, Avert your eyes. *shakes fist* AVERT THEM! Now, I'm having a bit of trouble balancing a campaign. Its a survival horror style game involving hordes of undead, a small town and all the ususual trappings. The creatures, while not shambling slowpokes are no faster than normal people, but I designed them as automatons (being corpses and all). They have the classic weakness of being vulnerable to being shut in the head but are otherwise pretty hard to destroy. The problem I didn't consider (call it over eager to start and a love a genre emulation) is that in game terms they are much tougher than it seems. Hitting the head is pretty hard in Hero and without fairly large guns, it still might not kill the creature. Most of the PCs are fairly normal people with little combat skill. In hand to hand (which many the PCs are limited too at the moment), its very hard to keep from being bitten (which is...bad), perhaps too hard. I don't want to make things totally impossible, but I want to keep the thrill of imminent death that makes survival horror appealing. I've been fudging things a bit, but I'd like something more concrete. Any suggestions?
  21. Re: Join Team Freedom! Its mostly in my head so I don't have much to send out. (Its a bad habit I have a GM that I really should correct since I do mostly PBEM now). Several US cities suffered some damage during the latter period of this world's WW 2, unclulding the rather spiteful decapitation of the Statue of Liberty by aGerman Ubermenshen, PanzerFaust. As for types of character. I don't like to be too restrictive, but I think fairly "simple" character would be best. More like Golden Age designs than "modern". Free Spirit, for example, is a Superman Clone (but not as fast). The Captain (NPC), her protege is a Mini brick.
  22. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! Cream Pie Cannon:8d6 EB Reduced by Range, OAF:Bulky with 12 Charges. Does No Body or Knockback -1/4, linked:"Oh the humiliation!"5d6 Pre Drain o endurance, NND:Defense was having "Teflon Skin" or a Pre of 30+ (You're so scary/impressive no one dares laugh). And 1d6 Flash Vs Sight, NND:Having a forcefeild, oddly placed eyes, etc Activation:10- "Pie in the Face" Nude Ray:8d6 Major Transformation (Character into Nude character). All or Nothing Tranformation, OAF, Bulky, 6 Charges, Activation:13- Linked:"Eeeek! I'm naked!" Mind Control:6d6 One command:Drop what your doing and cover up. NND:Having no nudity taboo, being an Exhibitionist, etc It was Major because it could strip a Power Armor or Gadget character of their foci. Said Foci appeared in a neat pile in a random location a few feet away from the target.
  23. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! The Whiner:She complains whenever her Limitations come up. She complains whenever her Disadvantates come up. She complains whenever her character can't do something or faces any sort of challenge since it means she's being "picked on". The Rationalizer:Cousin to the whiner. He tries to "explain" away his Limitation or Disadvantages, using "Logic" as to why his Sonic EB should work in a vaccuum for example. Joe Cool, the Loner:This player always makes the "Cool" isolated, angst filled loner types that lurk in the shadows and never speaks. All the players are supposed to be so impressed by him that they flock to find out his fascinating life story. This is not how it works out. The Goofball:Never makes a serious character. Ever. Even in the most dire and serious settings they have a character that has a Cream Pie Cannon and a Nude Ray. The Sexaroid:Similar to the Goofball except his (and they are ususally male) characters are all sex pots. Utter bimbos who's only interest seems to be in getting laid. Not manipulation threw erotic means, but just getting sex. Often quite stupid and very attractive. The Genre Buster:I have one of these currently. She loves making characters that fit a certain genre archtype very closely. The problem? She always want to use the wrong genre. Action Adventure archtypes in a down and dirty Horror games, Anime archtypes in a Four Color supers game. That sort of thing. The Clone Lord:I think I mentioned this before. This player makes the same character. All the time. The same powers, the same attributes, the same personality. I had one so bad all his characters had the same three names:Alex, Paul or Kevin. and lastly... Dr. Mesmero!:Can be combined with any other type. This is the player that is so persuasive, or such a good liar that he convinces you that he can talk you into thinking his characters are good ideas. With some bizzare variation on the Jedi Mind Trick, he convinces you (or an otherwise sane GM) that allowing a White Wolf Tzimince Vampire into a Four Color Supers game would be "cool"! Or that his character Trandimenional Ego Blast that Does Body isn't a bad idea.
  24. Re: Join Team Freedom! The Reich is the main source of bad guys, but you can come up with something else. Just be sure to detail it. Players can contribute to the world. I am no requireing a CAK, but character should generally be relunctant to kill.
  25. Re: Redwood Academy:The Raptors! There is also room for older characters, grizzled veterans, mercanaries, govnerment agents and others.
