It's a niche skill.

This reminds me of a story I heard in my Air Force days -- there was an exercise held in the middle of winter. Out at one of the dispersed bases, a snow plow had cut a cable, and two technicians were sent out in a Volkswagen bus to mend it. Now, it's cold outside, brass-monkey cold, so to keep their fingers from getting frostbite the two guys figure they might as well get the two ends of the cable into the cab of the bus and they'd do the repair there. And everything goes swimmingly, the cabin is nice and warm and they work away like nobody's business. Then, when they're done, they realize that they pulled the ends of the clipped cable through the opposite side windows.
