Re: A Thread for Random Musings
. . . The Valkyrie is finished with her studies, so she will be leaving us. She is now a lisenced teacher for the 1st through 6th grade -- poor, poor kiddies . . .
No, really -- she will be missed.
Re: Moreau Techniques
Hmmm . . . Mmmaybe . . . My setting will have no aliens -- at first. The beasties I'll use will all be pre-defined by me, but if the players have any special requests, and they're not too outrageous, then why not build something?
Re: Moreau Techniques
No, just intelligentized animals -- primates, mostly. Some call it the Moreau Process, some call it Uplifting. I'm gonna use it in my Hard SF campaign, but y'know, this is Hero, so you can do with it what you want.
Re: ORCS! What makes them our favourite enemies???
. . . It's so, so sad that he never produced a definite version of the Silmarillion. Over sixty years he invented and revised, re-revised, reinvented, retconned, threw away and started over on so many wonderful concepts that if I had even one idea of that caliber I'd die happy . . .
Re: ORCS! What makes them our favourite enemies???
Anyway, the "Corrupted Elves" version is what made it into the Silmarillion.
Does that make it canon? Does anyone know the rules for Tolkien canon?
Re: ORCS! What makes them our favourite enemies???
One of the last projects of the Professor was retconning the origin of the Orcs -- apparently, being corrupted, soulless Elves didn't fit in with the cosmology.
I wonder how far he got with this before he died?
Re: A Thread for Random Musings
. . . I've just performed my duty/privilege as a fully emancipated citizen of the Kingdom of Sweden -- I have voted.
"Freedom without responsibility is just a word."
It occurs to me that the party I voted for would be so far out to the left field in US politics that it would be nearly impossible to find supporters outside collece campuses. Ralph Nader would feel at home, I believe.
Man, I'm hungry.
Anyway, looks like there'll be a change in government. Han Som Bestämmer -- The Man In Charge -- PM Göran Persson, esq., will with all probability have to retire to his mansion.
Re: A Weird One: Dream Interpretation.
What a neat idea!
If the rest of the system is Skill based, then this should be no different. But to actually write it out as a power . . . !
Hmmm . . . A Multipower, perhaps? With a Summons slot (for the "presumed dead" returning deal) and a Dimensional Travel Slot (for changing the world in other ways) . . . Other ways may soon become apparent.
