  1. Re: Supervillain Images I personally enjoy seeing the works in progress here. But other than image size, I can't figure out the difference between this version and the prior one--can you clue me in?
  2. Re: I Can't Believe He Played That! I sometimes brought in an NPC hero named Vehicle. The basic concept was that an alien spacecraft had landed on an SUV (we called them "jeeps" back then), crushing it and its driver. Dismayed, the aliens worked quickly to fix what they'd done. Not realizing that the jeep and the driver were seperate things, they made them completely integrated--the poor driver could never leave the jeep again, but could control it as if it were part of his own body. And it had guns for some unknown reason.
  3. Re: Turakian Age Review posted to Enworld You know, I thought you had a nicely written, interesting article. Theron helpfully pointed out an error that you might want to correct. He didn't seem to be trying to discredit it, just to help. In fact, he complimented your article in an earlier post. You came back and defended your (mis)use of the word, and I, knowing the difference between the two spellings, pointed out the correct usage. Nobody was discrediting your article, just offering helpful information. FWIW, I wasn't responding to your article. I was responding to your post in which you were arguing about the usage.
  4. Re: Turakian Age Review posted to Enworld Not that this is a big issue at all, in the greater scheme of things, but Theron was correct. These should both be "fare": "material provided for use, consumption, or enjoyment." (Merriam Webster)
  5. Re: Work-In-Progress 3 of 3 Great image. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
  7. Re: Supervillain Images Here's a quote from one of Worldmaker's game turns featuring Cyberangutan. This is pretty much all I have on him--I just loved the visual of the claws spurting blue fluid. 8. Re: Supervillain Images Stick lots of cyber-stuff on the tights. Plus, the extendable claws dripping something noxious and blue will be plenty menacing...
  9. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Wow. I love this one. Thanks for sharing, Storn.
  10. Re: Superhero Images These are neat. I like the inset pictures you included--that's a cool idea. So where's the fourth character?
  11. Re: GGU NPCs For Review
  12. Re: Black Angus Just Black Angus. He showed up at the Hero City opening to work out a grudge against Jungle Boy. We'd e-mailed about this a while back on the NPC list--it's why the character was written up first and why he was audited quickly (by me). I was using the audited version, figuring that it was official, but I can change to this version. I'm just trying to understand how it works. And I figured you were following every exciting turn of the campaign.
  13. Re: Black Angus Since he can get up to that full velocity in a single phase with no turn mode (it being Running) and still attack, I don't see how that's difficult for him to do. On another note, shouldn't there be some kind of limitation on the Line effect that limits it to space that he can run through? Otherwise, he could do a move through on, say, a Stop sign at the very end of his movement range, and therefore do damage to a superhero standing 20" away. Since I'm running the character in a combat right now, I'm just trying to get my facts straight before proceeding. The audited version of the character was able to do something like 18d6 damage and dealt nasty damage to a PC in one phase. 22 1/2 d6 is more dice than I'm used to rolling, so before I hit a hapless PC with it, I want to make sure that I understand this revised version.
  14. Re: GGU NPCs For Review It stands for Global Guardians Universe. I believe that it's the biggest Champions play by e-mail campaign world around. www.globalguardians.com
  15. Black Angus As I read it, when performing a Move Through, Black Angus only has to hit DCV 3 (due to the Area of Effect Attack). When he does so, he easily do 22 1/2 d6 damage: 10d6 from STR 6d6 from the Hand Attack 6 1/2 d6 from Velocity (20"/3) This is before he does Knockback to his opponents, which, of course, he should. Am I missing something, or is this a bit excessive?
  16. Re: Supervillain Images That's cool. I like it as is and, like I said, part of it is probably my monitor.
  17. Re: Supervillain Images I guess my monitor's too dark. Playing with it a bit in an image program, I can see that the picture has green and blue in it, but without that enhancement, it all looks black to me. I love the outline, but would like to see it be just a hair lighter.
  18. Re: Superhero Images Man, I love this image. Thanks for sharing it.
  19. Re: GGU NPCs For Review I find this difficult to believe. I can certainly accept that he wouldn't be good at using them, but for him not to know how to make them function? Surely he'd have to be able to test the weapons in some way to make them and would have to know their basic operations, controls, etc. in order to invent them. I just don't see it.
  20. Re: GGU NPCs For Review And shouldn't he have Weapons Familiarity with most modern weapons? Or is that rolled into Weaponsmith somehow?
  21. Re: GGU NPCs For Review I'd give him Electronics. Skills aside, I'd think that the premier weapon supplier of the GGU would have access to more powerful weaponry. The 60-point pool limits him to weapons with 60 active points. Compared to some of what's out there, that's pretty weak. I understand that he's not likely to have many powerful items with him at the same time, but that active cost needs to be bumped higher. Similarly, his "last line of defense" gun doesn't impress me a lot, either.
  22. Re: Vermin Nice character. Small typo there. It should be "their fault."
