  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. This gave me a good chuckle, Storn. Thanks, as always, for sharing your great artwork with us.
  2. Re: Superhero Images Nice work. Much cleaner image. Thanks.
  3. Re: Superhero Images Call me crazy, but there are aspects of the first one that I like better. In particular, I like the odd, not quite defined look of the stripes in the first version better than I like the follow-up version. I do agree that the star effect, the face, the dress, and the clear (as opposed to dotted) background are better on the second version, but I miss the look of the cloak.
  4. Re: Fantasia: witch needs review I'd recommend writing this up as either the Social Limitation you mentioned or as a Psychological Limitation: Must Protect Secret of Nowhere, Ohio. (I still need that encyclopedia entry, by the way). I'm not sure what book Anonymity is in, but it doesn't seem appropriate. Sounds fine to me (just include this information in her powers description in her background). Since you still need to define her everyman skills, you can use that if you like, or buy it as an additional skill. She looks decent to me, and less fragile. The VPP is actually a little higher now than I would have expected (I was picturing something in the 60 to 65 point range), but that's really okay. You'll probably want her to have multiple spells available at the same time. I'd prefer that you keep the Active Points of the spells down to 65 points or so for the most part. A 14d6 + 1 EB might be a bit much, at least to start with. Please go ahead and define these. Looking good.
  5. Re: Superhero Images Very cool, Blue. I love the "American mage" look and concept. Very unique.
  6. Re: Superhero Images Neat picture, Sketchpad, but the resolution of the image is pretty bad.
  7. Re: Fantasia: witch needs review I sent a long review of this a few days ago, but the Hero boards somehow lost the whole message. Arrggh. I'm trying again. All of these need to be defined. Are they really all incompetent? I'd say these should be Normals. I've got no idea what this means. That should be defined under her Powers description.

  9. Re: Goofy hero names that you still love I run a character named Captain Coca-Cola in two PBEMs. He's a corporate-sponsored hero (obviously)--a skilled normal in powered armor. McNinja. Heh.
  10. Re: Title for the next HERO villains book Now why is it again that the cool "Enemies" name has been dropped? I would have vastly preferred a name like: Enemies: Conquerors, Killers & Crooks to the current version. The name "Enemies" was a cool brand.
  11. Re: Superhero Images My vote's for a separate thread. No reason to muddy the waters. Just post a link to the new thread here for those who wish to follow it.
  12. Re: Superhero Images Hey, that's great. A fun image, and well-executed. Now I've got to try to figure out a place to use the guy... I'd love to see him colored...
  13. Re: Title for the next HERO villains book This is assuming that driving Andy nuts is a *bad* thing.
  14. Re: Title for the next HERO villains book I was always partial to "Enemies" myself. Sigh...
  15. Re: Superhero Images This stuff looks great, Dave. So are all of these characters for M&M instead of Hero?
  16. Re: NPC/DNPC Deaths Not a huge deal for me--I've already read it. But I remember the pain of chancing across similar things in the past. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time--just suggesting you might want to edit the opening post, as you've done.
  17. Re: NPC/DNPC Deaths Since the book's barely been out a week, a spoiler warning might be handy here, especially since the book's title isn't even in the header. I wouldn't kill a DNPC without the player's buy-in unless the player did something really stupid or careless (like ignoring the DNPC's obvious danger to address something else). One of my players gets upset in general when any innocents are killed in the story (he and I have slightly different views on what "4-color" entails). I once killed an NPC hero who was part of the team (a sort of GM PC). I did it for dramatic effect and only after one of the PCs had warning that the character might actually die if he (the PC) proceeded with his course of action. He proceeded (it was more or less in character for him to do so), and the NPC died. It had repercussions, but I'm not sure I'd call it "great impact."
  18. Re: Need help with some goofy villians A few I've used/played with in the past: Nerf (a bouncing character made up of Nerf-like material) Nunchuckles (a nunchuka-wielding clown) The Purplizer (shoots purple energy and turns things purple)
  19. Re: Supervillain Images Actually, here's a larger version of that image. BTW, it was drawn by an artist named Ed Erdelac.
