  1. In one of my campaigns (I have several, either in progress, actually running, or having been run) I call those who have no obvious powers Mysteries, the others being tagged with the more obvious Metahuman.
  2. In one of my campaigns, I use Parahumans. Para as a prefix can mean beyond or a modification of, so it seemed to fit. However, in that same campaign, the media still tends to use Metahuman, even to the creation of the magazine MaxiMeta
  3. http://www.queenofwands.net/ Since someone else mentioned Something Positive.
  4. We always just called them 'minibricks'.
  5. Superheroes, and occasionally high powered Fantasy or Sci-Fi. I have tried Hero time and again with 'normals', and have never liked the way it came out. Some, I'm sure, will have reasons why it didn't work. Either the players all forgot concept to build 'efficient' characters, making the stats all look the same, or some such. Nonetheless, I have never liked Hero for games where characteristics are supposed to cover an entirely human range, and I still don't. I have Star Hero and I'll get Fantasy Hero, but I won't likely run either unless it's higher powered. For 'normal' games, I'll stick with GURPs if I want something I haven't a system for already, or a specific system that fits my desires, such as Traveller, Chivalry & Sorcery, or Rolemaster. Let it be known, however, that this is simply my opinion. I haven't seen any situation that caused me to change it, but if I saw it work in those genres - SAW it, not merely heard someone claim that it worked for them - then I'd change my mind.
  6. I honestly put the Com score where I think it should be, based on my view of the character. I play both males and females, and in both, the Com runs from 12 (As they say, you never see an 'average' hero) to 20+. The 20+ is really rare, though. One of my characters is a model, and has a 20 Com. She has a Pre of 25, though, so... And Supreme's right, with regard to all the comics I've seen. You won't see a woman over 17 - and not many between 13 and 17 - with less than a 'C' cup. I personally tend to play a little more realistically, and my female characters can be any size. One professional artist I hired to do one of my characters was almost cheesed that he didn't get to draw huge - tracts of land.
  7. I have a martial artist character - built on 75+75 - who could routinely put her fist through a bandit's chest and show him his heart. (Okay, a bit of hyperbole there, she did it once or twice) With Hit Locations, a decent strength, and maybe one or two extra DCs (well within the realm of heroic level) I could see doing that. Say that between strength and Martial arts you're doing a 2d6 HKA. Strike to the head does x2 Body. Now, if you have CSLs, you could add more damage, but say you stick with what you've got, putting your CSLs towards the OCV penalty to hit the head. Get lucky and roll 12, you've just done 24 body to the luckless Mutant. Say 'hi' to your brains, mutant. As for the Loc-Nar, my take on it was that she simply grabbed it and dove into a volcano (I hope I'm remembering that right). Where she showed anything 'superhuman' was in her willpower not to be immediately destroyed by it, but otherwise she just showed nobility. I wouldn't require a PC to point that out.
  8. I don't know that I'd worry about it, quite honestly. If you're doing a game like the Matrix, that's a plot device, nothing more. No need to point it out or define it except in broad terms. If, however, I decided I wanted to do something similar - such as the ability of a necromantic lord to teleport and take over any random zombie, it's easy. Teleport, Mega-Scale. Error-Free Teleport (+1) Can only teleport where at least one 'x' (Zombie, matrix inhabitant, etc.) exists. (-¼ for the Matrix, -3/4 for the Zombie, if not -1). Replaces 'placeholder'.
  9. Taarna would be relatively easy, I would think. Base 75+75 hero, give her about 50 XP, and make her a well-travelled warrior. I don't recall her doing anything superhuman - just incredibly skilled human. Maybe go 100+100, but I don't see that you'd need to go any higher.
  10. 51+?!?!?!?!?!? Obviously, I didn't read CU as well as I'd thought. Glad I read this thread. That means one of my favourite characters may need a re-write, depending on the world. I play a big brain, and I've only ever given him a 38 Int, in part because that's been high, and in part because it doesn't seem to make much sense - even with more points - to spend 20 more points on Int when you can spend it on powers that help define what you can do with that Int.
  11. I don't recall Spock influencing a woman, but I do recall him using his telepathy at range to make a captor (I believe this was the ones from the Andromeda Galaxy) think someone was sick so he would come into the cell.
