  1. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far OOOOkkkkaaaayyy, minor technicality. Yeah, I can RP without Minis. Combat without minis just stinks.
  2. Re: Champion's Universe or your own
  3. Re: Champion's Universe or your own I rather enjoyed the artwork in the books. I found that the style made the setting much more accessable to me. Villains that I had never though much of became living beings in that setting. It was sheer genius that most of the NPC's introduced themselves. Those characters leapt off the page and onto my gaming table.
  4. Re: Champion's Universe or your own I have used the CU in the past, it's an easy thing to run if you are in a hurry. I actually like the Champions New Millennium Universe more than the core 5th ed CU Currently I am planning to run something that has some elements from CNM, but is really something Different. The PCs will be Heroes from the Victorian era - WWII. They were all kidnapped by people unknown (Campaign background mystery). They were discovered during construction of a new building in a small town in Germany. There was another chamber found that was found with empty hybernation capsules that resemble the PC's and evidence that the PC's nemesis had been imprisoned in those capsules. That's pretty much were I am with that game. It's the one that I am going to run to figure out 6e Hero when it ships. Tasha
  5. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far Steve said that he really gave a lot of thought to Adjustment powers. I am excited to see what he came up with.
  6. Re: Champions 6th version Agreed. I am just hoping to get more people into the "wait and see" camp. I think that it is far more thoughtful to decide one way or the other after you have the whole published rule book.

  9. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far Ok you are right. in 3rd edtion those were called "General Modifiers". Limitations, Advantages and "General Modifiers" were all classed as Power Modifiers. It's been a long time since I opened that rulebook and my memory was faulty Tasha

  11. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far Correct. Aaron Alliston's Ninja Hero changed the way that we look at martial arts in the Hero System. In 4th edition you just purchased the maneuvers and DC's thought there weren't many maneuvers (ie 5th edition core rulebook) Ninja Hero did have rules for building your own maneuvers. Steve Long added the Ranged Maneuvers and added additional elements that could be placed in a maneuver, but he started with AA's framework. Tasha Been here since Champions 2nd edition...
  12. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far End Reserves was an Advantage/Limitation kind of like Charges. It was changes because it caused many VERY Cheezed builds of characters with unbelievably large End Reserves. It became a power to reduce the ways that it could be abused. How it worked was: Take your most end expensive ability (not including increased end), choose your end multiple to find the total endurance of that power. Remember in 3rd edition end cost was active cost/5. To cheese you take your most expensive power apply the limit/advantage, then limit it down to next to nothing. For bonus points make it the first slot of your EC and save more points. tasha
  13. Re: Champions 6th version They have rights to publish the world for PnP RPGs IIRC. We have actually seen 2 book set in the new cryptic CU. Book of the Destroyer, and now Book of the Machine are set in the Cryptic CU tasha
  14. Re: effective megascale teleport Unfortunatly you need a sense that can see where you are going to or else you are TPing blind. For extra Dimensional TP you would need an Extra Dimensional Clairvoyance. So it would be 2 50 pt powers. If you add things like Concentrate it can become much cheaper. If you have set places your TP can go Fixed TP locations are quite cheap.
  15. Re: Champions 6th version I won't argue your points, but you are missing my point about seeing the whole rule system before you decide. I am not saying that you have to like anything. I am trying to be a voice of reason. I guess that not having secondary Characteristics based on the primaries might be a reason to change, but of course the Secondary Characteristics themselves are still there. I am looking forward to seeing how decoupling Secondary Characteristics helps generate characters that meet their conceptions better. (JIC you missed it, PD, ED, SPD, REC, END, and Stun still exist in 6e, their base is just not generated from your primaries). So too bad for you. Perhaps we will meet at a convention some day and I'll run a 6e game for you and show you that it's still Hero and it plays the same if not better Tasha

  17. Re: Alternate Advantage and Limitation configuration There's no reason the existing system can't be made to work in a way that is close to this. It just requires the GM's permission to go above the campaign limits.
  18. Re: Champions 6th version I seem to remember that there is a new version of Champions planned. The Champions Genre Book is one of the oldest currently in the Hero Line. Also a new Champions Genre book will align the "Official" PnP Champions world with the one that is part of the Champions MMO. Again I imagine that the Champions Genre Book will be released soon after 6th edition's release with Fantasy Hero following close behind. People here will moan and groan, but they will find reasons/budget and end up purchasing the new books to get the new material. Remember 6th edition Hero is going to be great! Tasha
  19. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far 4th edition was the first big merging of the various rules variants from the various Genre books. (ie Fantasy Hero, Justice Inc, Danger International). It also marked the first time that the Hero System Rules were marketed in a book that didn't include Champions. So the changes were expected to be sweeping in their scope. It was funny, I don't remember being that upset by the changes. Even though they made my character MUCH more expensive. Tasha
  20. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far BTW that's a framework that has literally changed with each edition of the game ever published! Tasha
  21. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far I know that this goes against the conventional wisdom on the boards, but Fuzion was a good ruleset. They did a ton of things right with the rules. I think that it gets a bum rap because it was 1) too large of a change 2) and the superpowers rules were totally incomplete. From what I have seen so far, I think that folks are getting all riled up about nothing. I believe that people will see a TON of positive changes in the rules that really make sense, and address issues people have been bringing up for years (ie Primaries being too cheap for their benefits). So lets first get the rules before we start griping about stuff we only know about from Chat logs and 4 preview posts. Me, Yeah I have worries about KA's and stun multipliers, but have faith that Steve does write good consistent rules and the the totality of the rules will be better than the one of two things that I would have done differently. 22. Re: Eureka! The Stargate isn't in Warehouse 13! It would probably fit better to link the Sanctuary world with Warehouse 13's. Seeing as both have "Magic" or some force close enough to it to be close to it.
