  1. Re: Map of Humanity Thank you very much!
  2. Re: [Hooks] News articles that could be Pulp Adventures http://www.komotv.com/news/local/9803857.html Scientists investigate mystery moss in pristine Crater Lake CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore. (AP) - Call it the mystery of the moss. After all, it sounds like science fiction: Thick patches of moss that grow in large, dense mats 100 feet below the surface of crystalline Crater Lake. Mysterious cylindrical holes spiral deep into sections of the mats. Core samples of the moss ooze pungent odors from unknown millennia of growth and decay. "It's certainly like no other environment I've seen," says Mark Buktenica, Crater Lake National Park's aquatic ecologist. Read the whole article. It's interesting, and a bit of a twist could make it a great pulp adventure.
  3. Re: Divine Portfolios Help requested. Well, a god of art will need a portfolio; OK, not sculpture, just drawing/painting/etc. A god of advertising will need a portfolio. So will a god of (musical) composition. Alright, joking aside, what the bloody **** is "portfolio" supposed to mean in this situation? Because I know what a portfolio is, but that makes no sense the way it's being used here. I mean, Deendee plays around with meanings sometimes, and I don't know what WotCee has done with this word. Help, please?
  4. Re: Map of Humanity Susano, I only get a "broken picture" symbol when I try to follow your link to the "Map of Humanity." Could you please check and see if it's still there? If it is, do you think you can figure out a different way to link to it? Many, many thanks!
  5. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat "Magic HERO Cards? That's it, you're fired." "You can't fire me --- I am your boss." NT: Best way to get fired by DOJ.
  6. Re: Answers & Questions Q: ...and then I'll tie up the hostage with the stuff I used the last dozen times! A: It's on account of quantum.
  7. Re: [for fun] The Blue Moon Killer vs. Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli Sorry, this doesn't fit the original scenario:

  9. Re: Painful shot giving me pain! Please use the "HERO Designer Discussion" forum (http://www.herogames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21) for problems with HD. I had no idea what the heck you were talking about until others starting in with "tabs" and all that. Not everyone uses HD, and most of us who don't are not going to be able to help you at all. OTHO, if you ask for help in the forums intended specifically for HERO Designer, those folks who do know what you're on about will be concentrated right there.
  10. Re: Question on Pulp book The what?!?? Whoa, I never heard of this! Much cool! Later: Um, is that hardcopy or pdf-only?

    Mook rules?

Re: Mook rules? There's also what's known in DnD as "One hit die monsters: you hit it once, it dies." Though in keeping with the pulp feel, you can make them "one hit stun mooks; one hit, it's stunned." Or---if the PC rolls 3 or more above the minimum to hit, the mook is stunned; don't bother rolling damage, he/she/it is down. However, if what you're worried about is the amont of damage a mook might do, just rule that a mook can never do more than half (or a third) of a PC's current BODY.
  12. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat The Tepid Tetra. NT: Other names for the JLA.

  14. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Who cares? Nobody would be able to understand a word they said.
  15. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What was the worst result of Moon Maid getting so extremely fat? A: It was rephrased in the form of a question.
  16. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Irresistible To Women Is My Only Disadvantage. NT: The Character Disadvantage you wish you had in real life.
  17. Re: "Neat" Pictures Oh hey, I know! "Making UFO's" is what I learned it as. You take a large garbage bag, two 18"-24" sticks (laths, or balsa wood, is best), and 4 or 5 (or more, but not too many) birthday-cake candles. Attach the sticks to each other in a X shape, put the candles on, attach to the garbage bag. One guy holds the bag open and upright (opening down), another lights the candles. First guy waits for the bag to fill with hot air, then releases it. It floats off, lit up. Cool, and can freak the unsuspecting. Though these guys are using some other source of light and heat, and seem to have something a bit bigger than garbage bags available. Still, same principle.
  18. Re: "Neat" Pictures Looks like someone's trying to get a head.
  19. Re: Answers & Questions Q: She wants to practice using a chainsaw! What should I do? A: But then she had to go and try it with peanut butter.

  21. Re: Another human civilization may live inside Earth's hollows I parsed this as "wandering Kansas anally". Not really a contribution to the discussion; I just wanted to get that image out of my mind.
