  1. Re: Musings on Random Musings Now THERE'S an epithet for Kara! "Grand High Poobah"! I love it! Michelle aka Samuraiko
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I just dared to send Skaramine a copy of the "trailer" I did for my book. I hope to hell he's not going "Dull, dull, boring, ugh" right now... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings Yet another film to add to my list of "Things to See." Michelle aka Samuraiko
  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings I can always learn. Especially since I can pick up the manga at Barnes and Noble, I read a lot faster than I watch TV. And well, if $ or public acclaim is part of the deal, then hey, who am I to argue? Michelle aka Samuraiko
  5. Re: Musings on Random Musings Not really, I'm afraid. Only seen a couple of episodes and they were in the middle of the series, I think (where the school bully falls in love with Ranma's female identity, the Little Red-Headed Kettle Girl or somesuch he calls him/her). And one of the other girls starts taking pictures of him/her and selling them to the bully for extra cash. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  6. Re: The cranky thread Tell ya what, Becky, if I do well on Tuesday at poker, I'll buy you a bag of Lindt truffles JUST FOR YOU to make you feel better. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings Hmmm... written a few fanfics but never about HP. Maybe because I wanna see what else J. K. Rowling does with it before I take a shot at it. Have done Vampire Hunter D, Bubblegum Crisis 2040, one-off's on DBZ, and a couple on Dragonlance. Right now, the all-consuming passion is the DBZ novel. Although one of these days, I might take a shot at writing a story about Spiral. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  8. Re: The cranky thread And hopefully, if I GET the job I applied for, hubby and I will be upgrading to the 2br townhouses in our apt complex soon. Which means that we'll have to pack up all our stuff just to move about fifty yards. God, I hope I get it... I hope I get it... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  9. Re: Musings on Random Musings Just finished Chapter Seven, and damn it all to hell, WorldMaker, you just HAD to go and show me up, didn't you?! *sprawls on the floor with her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands* Okay, rant on. And y'all are good enough friends of mine that you'll let me rant, too. Just once... ONCE... I would like to be able to do ONE BLOODY THING better than anyone else I know. Just one thing that knocks people's socks off. Not that I'm the next Shakespeare or Mozart or whatever, but... oh, hell, I don't even know what I'm trying to say. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  10. Re: Musings on Random Musings Read Chapter One, quite interesting... ... but that's the problem with me being interested in so many different genres of stories. I'll read just about everyone's, but so few people read mine. And before Kara and Klytus and the others jump all over me, be grateful that I didn't type my first response, which is to say "...because they suck." Oops, just finished Chapter Two. Not bad so far... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings Think again, mi amiga. The only person allowed to put me down is me. I am, after all, the best person I know at doing that. I won't. No interest in the genre, no interest in the story, no interest in reading it. Nothing personal, just not my bag. *shrugs* No biggie, WM, I can't please all of the people all of the time. At the very least, I should be grateful that so far you haven't go on there and posted something along the lines of, "WHY IN F*** ARE YOU POSTING THIS S***?!" That's not your cue to do just that, by the way. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  12. Re: Musings on Random Musings *grabs her book and holds it up to her forehead a la the Amazing Karnac* I foresee that the entire member list of the HeroGames.com Forum will read my book! Thank you. I'm here til Thursday. Try the veal. Since *I* sure as hell won't be eating it. Yeah, I guess that's true. So... I'm guessing that you guys actually want me around... HA! Got you fooled! Michelle aka Samuraiko
  13. Re: Musings on Random Musings Man, I'm amazing. Only I could write a thousand posts and have absolutely nothing useful to say. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  14. Re: A Thread for Random Musings WOOHOO! This is my 1000th post! *does the MegaMan victory dance* Took me roughly five months to get here, though... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings Nope, sorry, don't play (or watch) Yu-Gi-Oh. Do occasionally read the manga, and the puzzles make for interesting gaming ideas. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  16. Re: Musings on Random Musings Should you ever feel motivated enough to write up a list, send it my way and I'll give you a rough estimate of what they're worth. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  17. Re: Musings on Random Musings You sure it's a Magic card? The only card I know called "Fissure" is a red card with a quote by Plato on it, but its text says "Destroy target creatre or land." Hmmm... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  18. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Well, it seems that next week or so, there's gonna be a pre-release for the next set of Magic cards, which means lots of buyers in one place. Which hopefully means I can find buyers for MY cards as well... wouldn't that be nice! Michelle aka Samuraiko
  19. Re: The cranky thread Working at the Discovery Channel store was fun over the holidays. Got to play with lots of nifty stuff (and picked up some of it too, thanks Becky! Bet that's the last time you run THAT contest again!)... but I learned that it is not physically possible for me to remain on my feet for more than two hours at a time before shooting pains up and down my back and legs made it nearly impossible for me to walk. But I had a blast, and working with Becky is always fun... right up until one of the other assistant managers does something ASTRONOMICALLY stupid with one of the registers, thus keeping us there THREE HOURS later than we should have been trying to find the mistake. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  20. Re: Musings on Random Musings The job search, day 2... Well, two possible jobs have made themselves known to me. 1) leasing consultant in Chandler, which if I wanted to work way the hell out there (with only one car, it's difficult, and for $9/hr, not great), I'd save 20% on my rent coz it's the company that manages my complex here in Phoenix. 2) three or four different positions with the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (more in line with what I went to school for) that pay a little better but are FAR more what I'd want. Too bad the Arizona Relay Service isn't hiring at this point, that'd have been an easy job to get, I think, but tonight is ritual night for a job! Send me good vibes, gang, I need all the help I can get. Michelle aka Samuraiko
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I have a new avatar and sig line! Go me! Michelle aka Samuraiko
  22. Re: Musings on Random Musings And, IIRC, the very first rep I ever got was from you for my poem "Portrait of an Arsonist as a Young Woman" on the "NGD Poetry Thread" way back when! I really do need to publish an anthology of my poetry... too bad poetry doesn't usually pay, but it'd still be nice. Maybe I'll do it on CafePress.com... Michelle aka Samuraiko
  23. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... This is not something I said, but something I WISH I'd said (I had no idea that either of my GMs would have actually LIKED me making this comment). Our Champions group is about to encounter the Zodiac group on the roof of some tall building in Millennium City (if you have The Zodiac Conspiracy you know the rough scenario). We arrive singly (or in the case of Gekko and Soldier, in tandem), and Midnight, my teleporting martial-arts/mentalist, teleports up onto the roof from three floors below. Unfortunately for me, I botch the Teleportation roll, but I do make a really nice Acrobatics roll... So here are most of the PCs up on the roof (along with three or four of the villains), when a swirling black mist appears out of nowhere about six feet up, and somersaulting out of it comes a masked woman in a black bodysuit, black trenchcoat, and black hat, who looks around as she lands, and immediately vanishes again in a black mist (I'd actually just gone invisible for a chance to assess the situation). What I'd wanted to say? "Sorry, wrong roof." Michelle aka Samuraiko
