  1. Re: Teen Champions PCs vs Minuteman. You can adjust the minuteman without messing with any continuity. Have the minuteman be damaged or maybe partially disassembled before the fight starts. Perhaps this particular minuteman had been damaged and waiting for repair when the teens showed up. Perhaps the techs were planning on upgrading the minuteman's armor but only got as far as removing some of the components when the minuteman was suddenly needed. But since the targets are a bunch of kids the minuteman should still have no problem.... Finally it could be an early prototype. "They're just a bunch of kids, let's save the big guns for the real threats." All of these options preserve the "badass" status of the minutemen and still give the PCs a fighting chance.
  2. Re: My CU based webcomic You don't have to like someone to want to help them, like people who donate money to homeless charities but will cross the street if they see a homeless person aproaching them. Her attitude is more that it is the responsibility of the quality people to take care of the unwashed masses who can't do it for themselves, kind of a "Noblesse oblige". Of all the group members she is the most unlikeable, although when push comes to shove she is fully on the side of good. Her problems with Sun Girl start with SG being lower-class and are exacerbated by SG's take-no-crap attitude. In future stories I hope to explore their relationship.
  3. Re: Valdorian Age, Turakian Age There are lots of racial and cultural templates. There are also a handful of pre-designed spells and special abilities. Turakian Age seems to have more mechanical stuff than Valdorian Age. There are tons of things that can be lifted for other campaigns. The mechanics are fairly segregated from the "fluff". The machanics are broken into appropriate chapters, i.e. the characters chapter has all the racial templates while the magic chapter has the spells.
  4. Re: Moving from D&D - rules issues I'm running a fantasy hero game in which the characters are allowed to purchase special abilities that work like powers but can represent things like super honed skills. Here's an AoO type effect that I came up with. It represents someone who has been specially trained in defending a person or area. Defend the Path: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 2d6, Damage Shield (+1/2), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Area Of Effect (Weapon Range; +1/2), Selective (+1/4), Continuous (+1) (112 Active Points); OAF (Readied Weapon; -1), Only useable against targets who are ignoring or trying to pass (-1), Concentration, Must Concentrate throughout use of Constant Power (1/2 DCV; -1/2), Base Damage is equal to weapon damage (-1/2) Cost:28 I don't have my books with me so the numbers maybe slightly off.
  5. Re: My CU based webcomic I've never heard of Fox Force Five, but it does sound simmilar. Where can I find out more about it?

  9. Re: My CU based webcomic The rendering was done using Poser6 and then I used Corel Draw to add the balloons and text.
  10. After much waffling I'm finally posting about my webcomic "Heroes of Vibora Bay" based in the Champions Universe. I'm hesitant about posting it because I'm not entirely happy with it. I have learned quite a bit from creating it though. I still have a couple of pages to go on issue 1, then I hope to impliment some changes and improvements for the next issue. You can read what I've finished so far at: http://kd.dynip.com/WoE/web_comics.htm
  11. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game On the other hand it doesn't take long to out level the low level zones. When you get to the high levels (40+) it takes a long time to level so you spend a lot longer in the zone.
  12. Re: Teen Champions - $9 Actually it's the opposite of scalping.

  19. Re: A couple of Hero Pictures I've been using poser for around 5 years now. It's not too tough to get the basics down, but some of the advenced features are way up there on the difficulty level. I've been using the program for 5 years and I've never once messed with the setup room (that's were you can rig figures for movement). I also recomend downloading DAZ's "DAZ|Studio" and trying it out. It has a different UI from Poser and it doesn't have all the high end features, but it is free and will give you an idea if it's something you really want to work with. Poser and DAZ|Studio content is mostly interchangeable. DAZ can't use Poser's material shaders, dynamic hair, or dynamic cloth. My favorite Poser hangout is Poser Pros. Lots of skilled poser artists and people willing to help out with questions and tips.
  20. Re: Name That Band Hero! Tia Carerra!!!! Actually that's Sweet right? Ballroom Blitz is the only song by whoever it is that I've actually heard.
  21. Re: Name That Band Hero! I wanna say "Alice Cooper" but that's just because of the "chop chop" song. I recognize nothing else.
  22. Re: Name That Band Hero! Pet Shop Boys?
  23. Re: A couple of Hero Pictures Ok, looking at it with my work machine I see what you mean. The picture was created on my home machine with a nice LCD monitor so the image is much brighter. I can't make the background too bright though or the glowing ring effect gets washed out.
  24. Re: A couple of Hero Pictures They were done with poser 6. Do you mean the backgrounds are so dark, or the enitre picture?
  25. Re: A couple of Hero Pictures The second is "Tech Girl", the youngest member of the team. She's a Cyberkinetic, able to alter and control electronics.
