Re: Herophile Fantasy art Here's two more for ya'll to enjoy, the first is just random Eye-Candy, the second is a PC I'm playing in a PbP game and his DNPC -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a285/Katal3/DeamonSiblings2.jpg -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a285/Katal3/Siren_sized.jpg
  2. Once again I return to yon boards to have my latest atempts at a magic system critiqued. I think overall I've come a long way from my privious atempts. one of the Sample Spells uses an Expanded version of Killer Shrikes Optional Weapon system, which I expanded and cleaned up a little.
  3. Re: Magic System : Blood Magic ooh, sweet, I'd love to see how you built that.
  4. Re: Campaign Log: The Redwater Guardians I admire your dedication, I just learned by memorizing the rule book, then getting into a few campaigns, one a Turakian Age game and the other a Superheroic, I too used to be a DnD junkie, and in the campaign I'm useing I plan on "borrowing" lots of stuff from my DnD books, mostly spells, but I'm rather fond of Ebberon.
  5. Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I await the brillience of your ideas with much bated breath, so don't keep me waiting or I'll feint... ok seriously good luck with Hero, I'm a recent convertee from d20 myself and thus far I've found the comunity to be really good here, even if it isn't quite a huge as the one on the WoTC forums the posters are usually much smarter.
  6. Re: Valdorian Age Campaign A Go! oh, and it needs to have flamethrower farts, along with the grease slick and exploding boosters, that way all you have to do when trying to get away in a chase is feed the horse beans, it'll slick up the other horses in grease, then fart and set them all on fire, and when the fire races back up the trail to the horse ti'll explode the character forward out of harms way.
  7. Re: Herophile Fantasy art hmm... everytime I post to the thread it dies for a few days...
  8. Re: Herophile Fantasy art I've never tried the bluelining thing, or at least I havn't tried it with blue, I tend just to draw light with a normal pencil and keep a good earser handy

    Psychic Wars

Re: Psychic Wars You could also look at the Anime s-CRY-ed, I've only seen the first 5 episodes or so, but it looks pretty good. it takes it from more of a Matter manipulation end. Essentially the psychics or "Alters" as their called in the series blow chunks out of their surrounding environment and use the accumulated matter to build, in many cases, Mecha like constructions which they then use to beat the snot out of each other. The main character in the story creates a "Powered Armor" Arm with a STR of about 50 (he uses the thing to perform almost hulk like jumps) and three "Bullets" on the same shoulder which look like spike/fin things. And every time he uses one breaks down and produces about a 6 second burst of jet propulsion velocity and a really hefty punch with that arm.
  14. Ok, after spending most of the last 3 days rewatching the entire first series (which I happen to own on DVD) I thought it would be fun to see if it was Possible to Convert the Lamda Driver over to hero. The version presented here is more for a powered armor suit rather then an AS (Unless sombody can set up a workable AS conversion for me *wink wink nod nod*). Its far from finished but I figured I'd see if I'd missed any of the uses covered in the series and poll what mechanics I should use for it. I'd considered using a VPP, but the LD dosn't see quite That versatile Personnel Lamda Driver The Personnel Lamda Driver (or PLD for short) is a device which converts the operator’s powerful emotions into actual physical force. Though inanely powerful, the PLD is also very unreliable unless the operator is both strong of will and especially trained. A. The PLD’s A function is by far its most basic, it is defensive in nature essentially it creates forcefield around the operator which keeps the operator from taking damage. B. The PLD’s B function is similar in some ways to it’s a function in that it defends the Operator, except that B function acts more like a mirror, reflecting munitions back at their originator, with a fair bit of extra power added onto it. C. The PLD’s C Function is the most obviously offensive, in this mode the Operator gathers a bolt of force in his palm and literally flings it at the target. D. The PLDs D Function allows the conventional (or even not so conventional) weapon the operator is using to pierce enemy defenses more easily. PLD Skill: All PLD functions require the “PLD Control†skill, this Ego-Based Power skill represents that the character can not only “psych himself upâ€, but that he also knows how to visualize the effects he’s trying to create clearly enough for the PLD to activate. The PLD’s C and D functions are both subject to Skill Vs. Skill contests, and have Side-effects for failing said contests. In order to initiate a contest both operators must be equipped with a PLD and be using the same Function against the other within Melee range. Both make their Skill Rolls normally and the one who makes his roll by the most (or at the who failed by the least depending) simply overpowers the other PLD, causing the afore mentioned Side Effects (usually an explosion effecting everything but the successful operator). This side effect is in addition to the Functions normal effect (assuming that the successful operator actually managed to activate the PLD correctly)
  15. Re: Street Level Champions game recruiting I might just do that.
  16. Re: Street Level Champions game recruiting Hmm, Sounds very interesting, shame I won't be 18 til december (even more of a shame that I'm honest enough to admit it )
  17. Re: Herophile Fantasy art the first took about 5 hours total, the second took probably 4 total, inspite of the fact that it was a less "drastic" change, it required more finesse
  18. Re: Herophile Fantasy art My recent experimentation has brought me into an entirely different field of art... Photo Manipulations, I've uploaded both the finished piece and the stock for your viewing pleasure. 19. Re: "Stances" for magic wielders Theres also h33l: which is for powergamers and Hea'll: which is where Texuns (sp?) go.
  20. Re: "Stances" for magic wielders so true, and video games arn't helping any... nor TV... darn you Mechwarrior 4... darn you to heII (not hell, heII, its a special place reserved for people who can't read good well.)
  21. Re: "Stances" for magic wielders Obviously you have delusions of grandure... sorry, I can't resist a bad pun...
  22. Re: The First Seal: The Turakian Age Well technically cuz its Completly IPE (Except for the source as that would be utterly pointless, my Reserve is OIF) they wouldn't be able to describe it as "daggers", heck they wouldn't even feel anything but a searing pain where the scythings sliced open flesh and blood did that little spray effect (I'm a fan of anime what can I say...), or in that damned ulronai's case, As they graze helplessly off his armor... 5 shots and no damage... pathetic... Oh and one more technicality: The first spell I cast wasn't to Make him leave "Directly" all it does is give a huge PRE Bonus, which I then used to scare the bezesus out of him, so there :-P
  23. Re: The Unreal Magic System I tend not to think of spells in terms of thier individual costs, but rather based on the costs of everything it takes to effectivly use said spells, for the most part everything a fighter has to take to be evvective (with the exception of Martial Arts) the mage will need as well, and they also need a skill (or even many skills) to use thier skills, essentially think of spells as the equipment that utilises all those other investments, just like a fighter would with a Longsword (which is essentially 16 or so free character points in most respects), the benifit in choseing your "equipment", and its general inability to be taken is represented by the CP cost of spells(even if its a low one)
  24. Re: The First Seal: The Turakian Age Ugh, not "invisible daggers", Isaacs Unseen Scythings I went to a lot of effot to cover my PGing with a believable RP... uhh, did I say that out loud?
