1. Re: Your PC's might be underpowered if... Red Mage regularly bests you. (8-bit theatre) You consider Fighter to be a brillent conversationist (8-bit theatre) The little Orphen boy is luckier then you are (8-bit theatre) Your characters best power is an Everyman skill, at 8-, And you paid points for it. You die more often then Nodwick. (Nodwick) ^ Corolary: And your party has nothing to do with it. Job feels sorry for your character. (Job) Your party includes Aunt May, the gieco gecko, and dryer lint... the dryer lint is scarier then you are. Your main movement power is a Instant Duration flight dependant upon eating large quantities of beans. You are the main villians DNPC, who in turn is Aunt May's DNPC.
2. Re: Myths about the Middle Ages that sounds about right, Christian doctrine was largely modified and grafted from formerly pagan traditions. As I remember the Roman Empire practiced it (after they stole it from the Egyptians I believe), and it was carried on from there. The Celts I think had a thematically similar tradition in which the King was married to the Land (least I think it was the Celts, it was around that area I'm sure). Of course they were also given the chance to behead their king on an annual basis if he'd really cheesed them off.
3. Re: Power Game. Give it a try. Hmm, I came of with a combo a while back thats absolutly wrong. It involves images and a small teleport... yeheheheheheh. I was elaborating upon the Mirror Images spell in DnD Mirror Image: Sight Group Images Increased Size (2" radius; +1/4), +/-3 to PER Rolls, Mirror Images Mimic Characters Actions Exactly (This includes moving; +0), Costs END Only To Activate (+1/4) (28 Active Points); Only to Create Mirror Images of Character (-1), No Range (-1/2). Total Cost: 11 points. Mirror Bounce: Teleportation 2", Linked (Mirror Image; Greater Power is Constant or in use most or all of the time; Lesser Instant Power can be used in any Phase in which greater Constant Power is in use; +0), Trigger (Activating the Trigger requires a Zero Phase Action, Trigger resets automatically, immediately after it activates; Triggers when Attacked; +3/4) (7 Active Points); Only to Exchange Places with a Mirror Image (-1), no Noncombat movement (-1/4). Total Cost: 3 points. Grand Total: 14 cp. Basicly this power makes you almost utterly impervious to any attack (including AoEs) smaller then 2-3" radius. As there is only a 1 in 7 chance they will attack the right "image" and even if they do he simply teleports to one of the other ones. of course they can make a Per roll (maybe) to detect the correct image, but that doesn't stop him from bouncing.
4. Re: Valdorian Age, Turakian Age oops. my bad, shoulda remembered that.
5. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Well, this is probably the most times I've ever drawn the same character
6. Re: Herophile Fantasy art My pleasure
7. Re: Valdorian Age, Turakian Age Incedently the same magic system is presented in the Fantasy Hero Grimorie series. with many more examples of its application
8. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Alrighty, starting from the top, the large face and the guy with the sword are both Alexi Hartia (the hair isn't colored in in the bigger one cuz it would have made the composition look funny, but you can tell they have the same hair-style). The girl in the dark shirt and light dress is Rei Cameron, an incedental character in the first part of the story, and a secondary main character later in the time-line. in this comp shes roughly 13-15 I havn't pined down the exact time-line between the two parts of the story yet. The object at the bottom left of the pic is a over sized sickle, in the center of the blades arc is what is called a Heartstone, which are the vessels into which a Demon is bound when it is drawn into the Physical Realm. (in the story, true demons are basicly just disembodied VPP, they cause massive problems and the only way to "kill" it is to destroy the heartstone. dealing with these bound demons is about as close as you get to Divine magic in the setting. The armored figure undernieth her is the central antagonist of the story, basicly an uber bad-***. He is a similar to a Cambion, which in the story is sort of a half-demon. They were created by fusing a Heartstone to a normal creature, the Demon bound within the stone then empowers the cambion and slowly mutates it into somthing thematicly appropiate to that particular demon and the species' natural features. Unless it's destroyed, then a cambion dies it's heartstone functions as a true demon. sorry, got a little to in-depth there...
9. Re: Herophile Fantasy art There, Changed to 800/600 Resolution, should attach fine now...
10. Re: Herophile Fantasy art which left shoulder? there are 4 of em in the pic. Darned Photobucket cropped it to hell, I'll see If I can't get it posted some other way so that ya'll can actually see it.
11. Re: Herophile Fantasy art speaking of Ego boosts... I did this one during the last day of school for the term, hand inked it. then did the background color and texture in photoshop. it be a Wallpaper. The things shown are all cast from the fiction I've been writing off and on. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a285/Katal3/AlexiHartia1024x768.jpg (couldn't upload here due to file-size)
12. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Gald to know we por herophiles inspired somebody... brains... *goes on random, art induce, zombie murdering spree*
13. Re: Sectional Defences Speaking of sectional armor rules a while back, when I first got FH I went though and set up tables so that I could calculate sectional Armor weights for piecemail (bits and pieces of other armor all hogepoged together. so without further adue here it be. Total % of Armor Weight By Hit Location Hit Location Covered % Of Armor Weight 3 (Head) .5 4 (Head) 1.4 5 (Head) 2.8 6 (Hands) 4.6 7 (Arms) 6.9 8 (Arms) 9.7 9 (Shoulders) 11.6 10 (Chest) 12.5 11 (Chest) 12.5 12 (Stomach) 11.6 13 (Vitals) 9.7 14 (Thighs) 6.9 15 (Legs) 4.6 16 (Legs) 2.8 17 (Feet) 1.4 18 (Feet) .5 Example: Kiaus has decided for some strange reason to wear the Full Helm that he found after killing some Do-gooders. The Full Helm provides 8 DEF to Hit Locations 3, 4, and 5 (all the Head locations). A Full suit of DEF 8 Armor would normally weigh 40 kg, so Kaius’ player checks the Table above and sees that Hit Locations 3, 4, and 5 have listed % of .5, 1.4, and 2.8 respectively, so he sums these up (.5+1.4+2.8=4.7), and Multiplies 40*4.7% (or 40 * 0.047 on a Calculater), and Gets 1.88 kg.
14. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Yayness!
15. Re: Mighty ComboBeast Challenge OOhh, the dreaded Bunny Wolf... well considering what happened with its cousin the Visserdrix (core set magic card- combination of Bunny and pirahna, only humaniod) I'm guessing that its pretty evil.
16. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Thread Necromancy! Yayness! Another of Alexi Hartia, The Seal tattoed upon his forearm is the Ephemeralis, a bloodline seal which effectivly allows him to cast non-Foci based Seal Magic without drawing the array ahead of time. 17. Re: Why are robots always immortal? In responce to Thia's comment about my "theory" I belive that techniclly, since the program I sugests was capable of making modifications to the "ghost" based upon sensory data than it would not be a copy, as even the buffing process that would occure while new "drivers" are installed would mean making modifications to the ghost to allow for optimum function. Now, as to the question of wether said continuation would still be "you" is another problem entirely. The thing that humans generally call "identity" is highly multifaceted, each facet being how another mind or entity remembers "you". For example, the "me" that exists in the minds of posters here is little more then a Handle and a few tidbits which can be assumed from profile information and my posts. Where-as the "me" that exists say, in my mothers mind, is far more complex, but dispite similarities is still very unique from the "me" that exists in my own mind. Anyway I'm off track, my point is that if the person excepted that the continuation of himself through a copy was indeed "him" and if others accepted that as well, then for all intents and purposes it is still "him"
18. Re: Why are robots always immortal? You know, it occures to me that if the human mind is basicly a vastly complex series of interconecting synaps, Would it be possible to create a viable of mapping a persons brain structure at a specific moment? Sort of like taking an image of a Harddrive via Ghosting software. Then you could Break that down into a 3d model that a program could reconstruct and recieve commands from/make modifications to based on imput from sensory devices much like the brain already does. Wouldn't that effectivly create a transferable Intelligence? Immortality would be achived though continual backups of the image, and when a body began to wear out, just "Ghost" the image to a new systems "hard-drive" and the person wakes up in a new body. given enough time a program might even be designed to account for the new hardware on boot-up, and install the appropiate "driver" before the mangled sensory input can accidently cause the "ghost" to become corupted. By the way I didn't pull that from literature.
19. Re: Things you do to acheive immersion hmm, so many good ideas... buwuhahahahahahahahaha! *maniacal laughter*
20. Re: HEROes of the Stick Hmm Vaarsuvious would be fun to write up, Explosive Runes, Evens Spiked Tenticals of Forced Intrusion, and a creape load of standard spells
21. Re: Runeschrijver Yeah, were almost as bad as the WoTC boards, were slighly more likely to compliment good work though :-D This is actually very similar to a magic system I'm working on (at least thematiclly) called Seal Magic, I'm ditching most of the complication my system would have ended up with in favor of letting the players have some creative room with how they want to handle their magic
22. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Yayness!
23. Yay for thread necromancy! Alrighty Folks (all two of you that still read these things) , I present you with my curent masterpiece, my first art ever to be done in full color! 24. Re: Equipment resource pools in Fantasy Hero? I've been working on a magic system off and on for the last few months for a campaign that will probably use a resource pool. Essentially is kinda Epic-Steampunk Fantasy. and Magic is very much like a technolgy, essentially I'm using a combination of Enchanting and Runemagic.
