  1. Heh, how do we even KNOW that the man being strangled is Seeker? We just assume. Maybe those hands belong to SEEKER!?! Maybe he is fated to become a ruthless strangler!
  2. Seeker is not actually a part of the Champions Universe this time around as I'm sure you are aware. He is now only mentioned as a ficticous character in a Champions comic book, which is mainly an inside joke for longtime Hero fans. I wouldn't take it as a jab at Seeker, or take it too seriously for that matter.
  3. My identity is finally revealed!
  4. Yes, I thought that was funny myself. Hey, check out the street names on the city map. There's some cool street names.I particulary like the road that the college is on, Barnes Blvd. Oh, that reminds me. Am I going crazy or is the key missing some location numbers on it?
  5. Dude, I feel the same way. Glad I ain't the only one. I console myself in the fact that I can use that as motivation to get better and improve my own artwork.
  6. Woot! I got my copy in the mail today today. I've been reading the playtest copy for a while and it's been a fun read. Good work Darren. Lot's of great work by my fellow artists too. I think a lot of folks will enjoy this book. Hey Keith, I dug your pic in the beginning of the book with the guy panning for gold. Nice job.
  7. Re: Terran Empire Ambivalence Hey, thanks for the compliment bc; I'm really glad that you liked them. You are my first official compliment on these boards. I'm really looking forward to doing more vehciles and ships and other tech in Spacers Toolkit. Ben shared some concept sketches with me that really got my imagination going. He'll attest to the flood of sketches I bombarded him with. Sci-fi is cool.
  8. For my upcoming online campaign, I've decided to start characters off at 400 points, with only 100 of those points being from disadvantages. The campaign will be a JLA/Avengers style one set in the Champions Universe. I decided on 400 points because it sounded fun, and like a good way for people to get really creative with their powers and also not feel the need to actively search out ways to make their powers cheaper. I set the 100 point disadvantages limit because of my own personal experience with coming up with logical ones for my own characters. Sometimes coming up with the last 25-50 points of the typical 150 points can be a chore - and tends to be more about me meeting requirements than keeping in character. Plus, it's less for me to keep track of. Players won't have the two or three different hunteds I typically see, or force strange susceptibilities into their characters. I just figured that 100 points of disadvantages kind of paints the character's flaws in broadstrokes, yet still gives me enough utility as a GM. I'm not too nervous about having 400 point PCs, at least not with the players I have. My active point limits are also about the same as typical CU 350 pointers too. I figure a lot of it will be spent on more diversified skills and stuff like others have mentioned previously. I'm rather looking forward to starting. Just as soon as Millennium City arrives that is.

    GOO or M&M?

I'd recommend M&M over SAS any day of the week. If I couldn't play Hero/Champions ever again, M&M is the game I'd go with.
  11. Did you know people are often looking for this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3120931057&category=375 Sorry, I'm just in a smartass mood tonight. Wait... *looks at clock* This morning.
  12. Here's a few that popped up when I was looking at the art in my copy of The Ultimate Vehicle. p44 "Quit grabbin' ma ass, ahm tryin' ta drive!" p7 "Here's the cash. Oh, and next time... park in the driveway like everyone else." p53 "I better hurry. If I'm late again, the rest of the Village People are gonna be pissed." p56 "Look octavius, while they were sleeping I drew a face on their ship with a sharpie. They STILL have noticed it!" p59 "Aircraft sold separately!" p60 "How many times do I have to tell you boys, shoot that thing OUTSIDE!" p74 "Jafar's magic carpet gave him the getaway he needed when her husdband pulled in the drive." p76 "Dammit Maverik, you overshot the carrier! It's back on page 59!" p 84 "News at 11:00 - Flying internal organ spotted over the grand canyon!" p 102 "Zorton enjoys his hobby, poking pinholes into planets and hollowing them out." p 115 "Dr. Eradicator puts together his first Radio Shack shortwave radio kit." p 142 "After Kid Rock went broke he turned to a life of car theft." p 149 "Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooi, ees hard to count wid onlay one hayund." p 151 (Thought balloon from woman in isle) "I finally made it into the Mile High Club. (pretty weak, I know) p 165 "I'm sorry, but we can't fit the body in there - not with all that crap in the trunk." p 173 "After a failed atempt on page 37, the maniac driver tried to hit Jim a second time." p 175 "Damn! Hope they make you chuckle more than they make you groan. - Nato
  13. Every time I come to these boards Hermit's got some assanine new thread asking some irrelevant question about superheroes or how you do or don't run your games. It must be stopped! "What color underwear do you where on the outside of YOUR tights?" "Which two male superheroes would you most like to see wrestling, covered with Wesson oil?" "If a copy of FRED fell in the woods, and nobody was there to hear it, would it still be the world's great role-playing system?" "Which cast member of Different Strokes have YOU used as a master villain?" "If you could make out with any member of the Champions, from any era, how would you rewrite their background? And would you let Seeker watch?" What's wrong with you!?! Who cares!?! Take your useless polls and stick them... well, somewhere else!!! I'm kidding of course. I luh da guy.
  14. Re: If we're not a religion... That's not the REAL reason you've been hqanging out in Darren's closet.
  15. You could try the HeroClix Ultron figure and do a relatively simple conversion.

    Hello

Good to have you. I hope you enjoy the game as much as all of us do! If you haven't noticed already, the "Hero System 5th Edition Rules Questions" forum is a great place to get specific HERO system questions answered, usually very quickly.
  17. Oh cool. Yeah, I just saw that they list the included characters under the big pic. I thought those were "similar" items. Yes, it's a damn good deal. I'll be interested in seeing what you do with them. Out of curiosity, why are you getting different bases? Just wanting to strip them of all HeroClix semblance for a complete custom look?
  18. Did they arrive yet? I'm curious. Did you order a bunch of rookies or veterans or something? When you get them, can you let us know what types of characters you got, how many doubles, etc... Thanks!
  19. How about Prague? or Minsk?

    Terran Empire

Eh. That was my old "callsighn" in the Air Force. Anyone calls me or another Hero book BARNEY and I'll be seriously peeved.

    Terran Empire

Grrr. I'm still waiting for my copies. I really can't wait. I as well loved Andrew's aliens. They are some of his best Hero work yet. They were available for the rest of the artists to work from for reference and they made drawing them MUCH easier. Way to go Andrew.
  22. In my online campaign, which we haven't played in couple of months, the PCs were based out of Chicago. Destroyed One Magnificent Mile with a meteor shower, rebuilt it with superior alloys and such and renamed it the Monument. Team's base was there. In the table-top campaign I just started with complete newbies, I'm using Millennium City. So I'm anxiously awaiting the book.
  23. Ah, they moved him out to Florida, eh?
