  1. Re: Complicate the Person Above L. Marcus is not on Ultron's list.
  2. Re: Rifts HERO? I got the Game Master's Guide, which is quite useful for converting weapons, armor, vehicles, and is generally good as a reference to other books.
  3. Re: You know your PCs have an Image Problem if... Marvel Event X occurs with your team at the center of it, and Joe Quesada recommends readers to check out DC.
  4. Re: A New Use For Hardened Nice analysis. I think I will rep you. Yeah, I will. Yet again, I am amazed at my relatively fledgling status (and I am a god to my friends) at the HERO system.
  5. Re: Complicate the Person Above L. Marcus doesn't know how to stop. No really, he has the most incoherent telegrams you've ever seen.
  6. Re: Complicate the Person Above Egyptoid came to save us all from his arch-nemesis: John Titor.
  7. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Daily Commute HERO Library HERO McDonald's HERO Vaseline HERO George Michael HERO Smoking HERO
  8. Re: Complicate the Person Above Cancer's HERO character creation process: 1) Get a copy of the core book, an Alka-Seltzer tablet, and his pet German Shepherd, Fifi. 2) Place Alka-Seltzer Tablet in Fifi's mouth, and place book in front of her. 3) New character in five minutes.
  9. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Larp Hero

  12. Re: Complicate the Person Above L. Marcus wakes up every day at the crack of dawn to absorb the sun's radiation so that he can fry his eggs with his bare hands.
  13. Re: Your PC's might be underpowered if... If your character's arch-nemesis is the rabbit that lives under his deck...
  14. Re: Your PCs might be overpowered if... If your disadvantages cost points... If the Kings of Edom failed to lock you away for the good of the universe... If you upstage Pre-Crisis Superman by juggling universes... If you refer to Dr. Manhattan as "that whiny little *****"...
  15. Re: A New Use For Hardened You can't buy partially Hardened defenses (check the main book), and the build you just mentioned is condemned in the same text.
  16. Re: Your PC's might be underpowered if... If your character refers to Foxbat as "Master Villain Material"... If your character's immunity system is more expensive than the actual PC, but he has full-blown AIDS (okay, that's kinda mean)... If one of your character's goals is to ascend to the Microverse... If the only atomic monster campaign your character lived through was a mouse scurrying around the room (and it still followed the standard plot)... If a fly wouldn't even hurt your character... If your character's best power is the ability to convert food into energy... If your character is in a HERO Boards poll, and Pie is selected because it is the more powerful option...
  17. Re: A New Use For Hardened Actually, it has never been an issue in my games. In fact, Killing Attacks are circumstantially rare in my Superhero campaign. Not quite so obvious, eh? No, this began as just a thought. So what if Hardened covers so much ground? It doesn't actually do anything by itself anyway, so why not slap this on to it? Just because Hardened can defend against Indirect doesn't mean that I'll always get to use it any more than against Killing Attacks with Increased STUN Multiplier.
  18. Re: Your PCs might be overpowered if... If you are better off reciting the digits of Pi than saying your character's cost... If your character has a power: Major Transform 1d6 (HERO 5th Revised Rules to whatever the hell rules I want; +1), Indirect (+3/4), Transdimensional (+1/2)... If your PC GMs every game now, and the GM plays his avatar... ...your PC is overpowered.
  19. Re: A New Use For Hardened It's my forum style (Dark Background). Sorry.
  20. Killing Attacks can purchase the power advantage Increased STUN Multiplier (+1/4 per +1). Hardened (+1/4) is used for defending against Armor Piercing (+1/2) and Penetrating (+1/2), as well as Indirect (+1/4-3/4), two of which are for increasing damage of an attack. I was thinking that maybe Hardened can defend against up to 2 Levels of Increased STUN Multiplier per 1 Level.
  21. Re: Rifts HERO? So by extension, what my idea (which I imagine by some posts has already been used) is meant to mean, is that a character could be a Crazy, but only have the physical enhancements, or only the sensory enhancements, or only the mental powers, etc. Not every Full Bionic Conversion is going to be the same, Magic is taught differently but to the same effect as we are all taught normal knowledge, and so on and so forth.
  22. Re: Supe it up! Superfeld - A super-team show about nothing that analyzes the common, every-day things of super-culture. Things like a villain referred to as "the close/high monologuer", or a hero that uses Super-Jerry's powers, or getting a super-vehicle with an invulnerable super-B.O.
  23. Re: Rifts HERO? Oops, I made a mistake, you meant gadgets and the like. Anyway, I made another decision: eliminate Package Deals, and just have the players look at the OCCs so they get a good idea of how to fit into the setting.
