I didn't really like the Dark Champions villains that much.  But I wasn't really saying that villains for this type of Rogue's Gallery didn't exist; I just think Hero 6E makes them into complicated builds.  It just isn't that much fun to build them.

Tatterdemalion and White Hare would be much easier to build with M&M.

I disagree, but I do think combat flows faster in M&M- but the movement rules in M&M don't work very well unless you limit them.

For some reason I started giving people 15 points for the Mutant complication when it's only worth 10.  So I went back and fixed a bunch of characters (Bluebird, Gravitar, Aetheria, Kinetica, and Omega).

I'd say it would depend on the setting and how prevalent & powerful mutants are versus other supers, but yes the standard complication is 10.

I almost put something in my notes, but I figured people would get it without a nudge.  :)

One of my favorite superhero shows growing up.

Mine as well.  I hope Disney brings that character back in a show or movie.  And it was a shame that the show didn't have the 3rd season that it deserved.

I just looked at Wraith.  Very interesting character.  I notice you skipped Martial Arts for him and did build a lot of his stuff as Powers.  I'm going to do the same thing.  I'm building both of my costumed avengers as 300 point characters too (although skewing less powerful than Wraith in terms of active points in their powers).

    Thanks so much!

Yup, he was a character from a Hudson City Powers game that a late friend ran in 2014.  It was a great campaign, and one that both me and Wraith's player really miss.

Here's my old character, a significant alteration of a champions character.

This heal back condition is copied from the 6E Champions power book.  It is very common there (the book builds a lot of acid power that cause blindness).  If I were GM'ing a game where Aetheria blinded a PC, I would probably allow almost any healing superpower to reverse the damage, in addition to organ-regrowing regeneration and the extremely uncommon transplant.

The idea for her susceptibility was built on something I seemed to have cut from her writeup (for space I guess since it was in the stat block).  Basically, if you put Aetheria in a box and cut her off from light (other than from her powers), she will eventually die.  She needs some small amount of light to absorb (not so much in the context of the power Absorption, but like how humans get vitamin D from the sun) or she suffers damage.  Just closing her eyes isn't enough.  Just it being night time isn't enough.  It has to be Total Darkness.  Maybe that's too uncommon to count as a complication, but that's the idea.  I'd be happy to rebuild it.

Excellent feedback on the Personal Immunity.  Again, I think I copied some of this power from Champions Power 6E and they had it.  But I should have taken a closer look at how it interacted with the rest of her build.

Your feedback is awesome.  Thanks so much!

Wouldn't darkness to sight group and entangle (blocks sight group) activate the susceptibilities?  I would think so given what you have described.

I'm building two Costumed Avenger type characters (think low-level Batman types or like DarkAngel from DC:TAS) and I just have a small observation.  Building characters with powers is more fulfilling with Hero.  There seems to be a lot more character and better structure.  But building equipment / non-powered heroes is a lot more fun with M&M 2E for some reason.  It's just tedious to create lots of martial arts moves, utility belts, and such with Hero.  Just a flashlight is an ordeal.

It's doable.  I do have a couple of them laying around.  I do agree that it's easier to build powers than equipment, but you can just build equipment as powers (just with focus).

Let me know if you want to take a look.

I'm trying to find the artists names that did the various Fantasy Hero Source books.  Is there a list of who those artists are?  Links to their stores that sell their for bonus points.

The 6th edition artist is Tyler Walpole.  The other artists included in the book are: Brett Barkley, Christopher Burdett, Storn Cook, Brendon & Brian Fraim, Melissa Gay, Alexander Gustafson, Hal Hefner, Mark Helwig, Jesse Parrotti, Christian N. St. Pierre, Julien Tainmont-Pierrat, Jason Williford, and Jonathan Wyke.

    Yes, me too.

The backstory explanation that I came up with years ago was that once he became a hero he decided to adopt all the conventional "hero codes" so that he would fit in better.

But it makes less sense on re-reading it.

Edit: I'm changing it to Needs to Prove Self.

How is this for a rebuild?  I altered his martial arts so that they were a combination of flight and brick tricks.  I increased his PD and ED but lowered his EGO and DMCV, and used it to up his REC and Regeneration.  I altered his complications so that he only has 40 points in psychological complications.

Wow.  I really appreciate the effort rebuilding the characters.

On Petal, you really made her more powerful.  I'm a big fan of 300 point characters, so I've been building a lot of them lately.  But I like how you scaled you up, particularly the Drain Con power and the plant summoning power.

On Bluebird, I like some of the changes, but am not fond of dropping her active points down to 60 on her main powers.  It just seems too weak for a 400 point standard character (going by the guidelines in Champions 6E at least).  I also noticed you dropped the ablative property to her ice shield.  I originally (years ago) built her as having only an ablative shield, but people said it would be too limiting.  I just like the idea of ice being chipped away.

I'll have to clean up my HDC files so I can start attaching them here.  That's a great idea.

Yeah, that was just for a "standard, 400 points game."  She traded damage for speed and defense.  Keep in mind that the guides are  a range, not a maximum for every character.  Ablative is interesting, but complex.

    You're welcome.
