  1. Fit and Trim Fit can create dimensional pockets to shrink down/store/throw all manner of useful items. Trim converts caloric intake and fatty deposits into energy blasts; she's always overeating and usually spoiling for a fight (especially as bikini season draws near). [P.S. my favorite Golden Age duo name of all time: the Black Terror. . . and Tim]
  2. Restating the obvious, distinctive super-vehicles are a staple of comic lore from the Batmobile and Invisible Plane to the Fantasticar, Quinjets and Helicarrier and some have almost become characters in their own right. But when I look at the vehicular example list of Champions Complete, it seems, well, a bit pedestrian. Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, speedboats. . .everyday stuff (there is one example build of a quinjet equivalent). I know there was a 5ed book devoted exclusively to unique/fantastic vehicles, but I gather there is nothing more current? This is a bit of a follow-up to my earlier question about 5ed vs 6ed villain books. As an aside, how big a role do 'metavehicles' play in your games, if any?
  3. I would agree that the modern pharmaceutical industry would eventually be able to synthesize and cheaply mass produce such a serum, but I suppose it would be tightly regulated. Which of course, means a black market would become pervasive. Superior Iron Man seems to be playing on this theme, where everday folks are getting desperate and commiting crime for just one more taste of 'feeling super' via extremis. But if it's a case in which certain genetic markers make particular bloodlines more receptive to its effects, wow, you're getting into eugenics and the actual realization of Aryan ubermensch theory. Even a race war between normals and metas a la Days of Future Past. Sounds like a nightmarish world to me!
  4. I actually have a .pdf of Champions-specific plot seeds, organized by villain. I think it was a free download from this site at one point (?).
  5. If you found the current Godzilla boring, stay far away from the 1998 version (it had plenty of action, but still managed to be utterly dull). Time Machine is a good one, I often rewatch it and other George Pal classic flix such as War of the Worlds and When Worlds Collide.
  6. I recently watched seasons one and two of Vikings (historic drama) on blu-ray. I'm hardly an expert on this period, but the look and feel they've put on screen is feature film quailty and seems very authentic. Set in the late 8th century when viking raiders are just starting to explore then-unknown England, pagan vs. Christian culture clash is a principal theme. Some episodes are difficult to watch - early on they raid an English monastery, stabbing, beating and enslaving a group of harmless, unarmed priests - no concept of chivalry here! But in a way, that's a strength of the show - it tries to show a warrior culture warts and all, without sugar coating it. The leading actor playing Ragnar definitely has screen presence and charisma, as do most of the rest of the cast. Some of the storylines dip into soap opera territory - Ragnar gets involved in a love triangle with two strong but very different women - but overall I would highly recommend.
  7. From my perspective, it is a little silly to buy more books just for a handful of power descriptions, plus I wonder why they weren't included in Champions Complete? But I may bite the bullet. . .
  8. I agree this thread has some great tools & ideas. Would even love to see an official step-by-step campaign construction guide, in the spirit of but not the letter of Strike Force.
  9. That should be Evil Organization Rule of Order #1: 'How exactly is our acronym spelled?!'
  10. Thanks for the info. My bad, I actually have CKC (Conquerors, Killers, Crooks), not CCC, but I'm guessing many of them made the transition also.
  11. I last played Champions 3ed way back in the 80s, but have tried to keep tabs on products since then (I have many of the classic 4th ed. books) and am hoping to give Champions Complete a whirl. I recently purchased .pdfs of three 5ed villain books (CCC, VVV and AA) and I'm impressed! The art may be a bit inconsistent, but as usual with the line the character concepts are first rate. If I take the leap to the 3-volume 6ed set, I'm just curious how many villains carried over? Is the set a 'best-of' of all previous editions, and/or is there a lot of new content? I'm probably sold either way, it would be nice to have full-color hard copies, but am curious.
  12. European Enemies is a supplement I don't own (since it seems to be universally panned), but based on the PAGON spelling: Pan-continental Assembly for Growth, Order and Nourishment Sounds like a greenpeace or world hunger type organization, but could secretly be eco-terrorists in the Poison Ivy vein, seeking to elevate mankind by reducing them to compost for . . a more just and verdant world (heh, heh).
  13. We would be remiss if we didn't mention the most complete line of 28mm super minis that I know of, SuperFigs available at Old Glory: http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/categories.asp?cat=47 Black Hat miniatures also has a small but nice line: http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=121_122_141
  14. Man, this is the holy grail of supplements and I hope to have a copy someday. It's my understanding that Mr. Allston's estate retains the rights so Hero can't revise/rerelease?
  15. Is it me, or does 'Forgotten Organizations' seem like a great concept for a new supplement?
  16. The FF movies were so bad, I would think no further sabotage would be necessary.
  17. Hey, I'm not knocking the movie, probably my favorite of the Marvel new breed! I accepted one cloaked helicarrier in Avengers with childlike wonder, but I admit I do have trouble believing that public opinion would stand for that fleet - a very visible sign of Big Brother over Manhattan - even in a fictional universe. I admit though, that I never wonder where the villains get their toys - that's what villains do!
  18. Saw that there's an 'advanced' Superhero 2044 on rpgnow.com, wonder if that incorporates the additional material?
  19. Guess I'll have to rewatch that part, but assuming so (if history is any guide) every major military in the world would be scrambling to develop their own. Of course, that's probably why the screenplay destroyed them all - again running up against 'Richards is useless'!
  20. Sure, in the film and comic origin, necessity was the mother of invention and the reactor helped keep him alive while also producing enough power for his prototype suit, allowing his escape. But afterward he kept tweaking it to be more efficient while making ever more advanced/deadly suits. In Tony's defense, this kind of tech may not be something you would want running around loose. An evil mind could pretty easily turn the reactor into a portable, undetectable, extremely powerful bomb. This should be its own thread. Applies to SHIELD in the MCU tho, too - what congressmen in their right mind would allocate the billions needed for that fleet of helicarriers in Winter Soldier? (oh, that's right, the evil Hydra-sympathetic ones). How are they more effective than traditional armed forces?
  21. New guy here, but yeah the Arc Reactor doesn't make much sense. Genius Stark invents an ultimate power source that could alleviate poverty and pollution worldwide, but instead of making it available to the public he miniaturizes it to power his weaponized suit. Very super-villainy, if you ask me! (of course all comics kind of assume super-tech is too rare/expensive to really alter our world).
