  1. Neat art, but picky me I see at least one mismatch - looks like Black Panther versus Blue Beetle (Kord)? Panther vs Vixen would be more like it. Not sure Falcon would stand much chance against Hawkman, either. In the same vein, here's a cross-universe villain matchup:
  2. Now that I think about it, how bizarre is it that a fairly obscure character like Thanos has officially appeared on the silver screen before Wonder Woman?! Sheesh.
  3. If it matters, the relatively recent DC Adventures rulebook rates Wonder Woman at strength 16, which equates to a lifting of 1,600 tons, but also gives her a 'Strength of Gaia' boost specific to lifting, up to 22 (100,000 tons). Interesting that they distinguish between lifting capacity and general (punching) strength - they do something similar with Superman. I think it's time our lovely ladies resolve their differences and go up against Darkseid and the Female Furies.
  4. Mentor had a great voice - like Brain in Pinky & the Brain (different voice actor, tho).
  5. Last I checked, it was down to a paltry $200. Makes the copy of Strike Force I got on ebay look like a steal!
  6. I would hazard a guess that when Wondie was introduced c. 1940 she was much weaker than She-Hulk in her first appearance c. 1980. Both have undergone a kind of strength inflation to keep them 'super'.
  7. That's the style La Rose! Ok, Ok, they're both fetish-worthy. I guess I need to practice my geeky trash-talk skills. I'm warming up for the next arena league.
  8. Alright, time for the long pants, this is really about sex appeal. And we all know who wins in that category.
  9. My impression has been that Jennifer Walters certainly has a higher temper threshold than her cousin, but she can still be pushed into an uncontrollable rage. Fear may have originally been her transformation catalyst, I haven't seen that worked into a story in decades. But as always with these things, everyone has their own version of the character they consider 'definitive.'
  10. In that case, I may bite the bullet and buy Hero Designer - and try to be ready when you run out of steam! Seems inevitable that at some point a game developer will pick up this IP and make FF-3. Here's hoping. . . .
  11. Yes! Those games captured the spirit of the Silver Age better than any before or since (computer-wise). I hope Mentor is next. Going to be an extremely long thread if you convert them all!
  12. Surely this has happened in one of the many DC/Marvel crossovers? Anyway, I'll be contrarian again and give the edge to She-Hulk. Hulk-types are extremely damage-resistant, have self-healing capabilities and of course get stronger and stronger. WW will own the first few rounds, but Jennifer will gradually Hulk out and win a long, grinding 'war of attrition'.
  13. Re: Wings, it was probably during the height of the 'roleplaying games corrupt your youngins and turn them into cultists!' scare, so they figured better safe than sorry. Re: underappreciated modules, I have a copy of Neutral Ground and think it has potential. Really more of a setting book with some plot seeds, it makes some sense - I mean even superheroes have to relax sometime, right?
  14. I'm the same way - it's just not the same without social interaction! I've never played SFB, but I do have Federation Commander, which is basically a streamlined, easier to play adaptation of the older system. You might want to check it out.
  15. I think the green is a lot spiffier, actually. Those shoulder pads are a definite rip-, er, homage to, Judge Dredd.
  16. Wasn't there a Champions adventure pulled for supposedly anti-Semitic content? I know I read about it somewhere (worst adventure hardly anyone has ever played?).
  17. I sometimes feel Champions needs "Villainous Action Points" for the GM to ensure the Big Bad doesn't go down in the first round, or other encounters don't end prematurely. Fair's fair, right?
  18. I noticed Paizo still has some copies: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8n3r?Champions-RPG-Wrath-of-the-Seven-Horsemen
  19. OK, a (more) serious one: I've been toying with the concept of a villain that spontaneously germinates from one of those superheroic vaults/trophy rooms where they typically keep equipment and artifacts liberated from their past opponents (occasionally this concept works its way into fantasy rpgs). The lingering, concentrated evil psychic imprints combined with alien tech gradually create a gestalt entity that breaks out and seeks revenge. I picture a crystal skull atop a mechanical torso, cybernetic arms, adorned with a cloak, medallion, ancient staff, perhaps a crown of Krim? Or any combination that looks good, really. Tentative names: Amalgaman or the Residuum.
  20. An official 'Champions Classics' line updating many of the old 3rd/4th modules (as .pdfs or hard copy anthologies) makes me salivate. Of course, we have dedicated folks on these very forums reworking old character profiles.
  21. They all look good! But you can't go wrong with talking apes. . . .
  22. What I find odd is that 6E vol. 2 is still readily available in the $25 - $30 range. Why the discrepancy?
  23. Hey, how about a patriotic cat-girl?? Mew-S-A!
  24. I have a copy of Atlas' Dystopia adventure, which might also be worth tracking down - full of moody intrigue!
