Frankie "The Face" Giordano was a capo in the Trafficante crime family. Stalker and Lady Midnight were given a contract by a rival family and proceeded to slaughter the entire crew. However Lady Midnight was somewhat taken by Frankie's handsome features and did not completely drawn him of life. Thus Frankie was transformed into a vampire himself. Waking in the morgue and quickly slating his new thirst on an unfortunate attendant he soon adapted to his condition. He has embraced his new power as a major player in the criminal underworld and he considers himself the leader of the Victims under his new moniker Frankie Fangs.

Roy Oxley was an amateur inventor and bored salesman who created the costumed identity of Spring Heeled Jack based on the urban legend. He created hydraulic boots allowing him to leap high, climbing claws, and a demon mask with glowing eyes that granted him night and infrared vision. The mask also had a small flame projector in the mouth which was more to create a frightening image, but could be used as a close quarter weapon in a pinch. Oxley enjoyed a career as a second story man as part of a crew of criminals with Jackanapes, Mod King and The Dandy. Whatever profit he gained he would gamble away however, and eventually was in great debt to powerful criminal Lord Gideon Gray. He would eventually die of lung cancer while in prison still owing a great deal of money to Gray. This debt fell to his only child Belinda. She reluctantly agreed to take up the mantle and being a tech wizard herself modified and improved her father’s old designs and works for Gray as Spring Heeled Jill. Gray has loaned out her services to be part of  Viridian Bat’s heist crew.

He is savage and unpredictable. Which makes him the ideal warrior for various psychotic individuals with aspirations for world domination. He is also a skilled hunter and tracker. He is another one of those monosyllabic types barely speaking. He is usually seen topless which shows off his vibrant red tattoos and the gold ornamentation he wears on his lower arms and black leggings

Not really, I was just going to pour a heavy dose of anime sauce (Neo-Tokyo this, Yakuza that.) over the whole thing.  I only offered so that there would be more than one contestant.  
    I couldn’t do anything if won anyway,  I can’t even figure out how to put a picture up for an avatar.

She is plain and strong and is on the team to do the heavy lifting like the swag or doors you know the thing. She is a woman of few words looking down on her colleagues because she is over six feet in height. And the fact that she does not like SnG. She is French but does not let on that she can speak Spanish. They know she can understand English but she is to the team mono-syllabic. She also does not respond to insults the way that some other villains do. She also does not wear a mask, just plain clothing which as a result makes her nondescript as far as International policing goes.

The man known as BugOut is a former cat burglar who stole a high-tech battlesuit that allows him to shrink to the size of an insect, and to mentally command legions of various insects to help him commit crimes.  Since stealing the BugOut suit, he has studied insects to the point that he's become a fairly decent amateur entomologist.  He is currently searching for a way to also command arachnids (which, contrary to common perception, are not insects), hoping to use that as a way to combat his frequent foe, Arachno-Guy.

SnG
 
The speedster with the obnoxious smile, yep that's SnG. That is short for Snatch and Grab but he changed it to be more hip. He can't take a lot of damage nor inflict much so he relies on not being hit. But he is unbearably smug and is more than a tad overconfident. The others would not work with him if they could avoid it but he was the only speedster available at the time.

So I have recently completed a move, to a place largr enough to not need storage. So I have bern unpacking many boxes of books. Along with finding all of my old gaming books, I found my character binder.  Inside was the original Hero flyer announcing Champions, and also the character handed to me by either Bruce or Ray, for a game GMed by Steve Peterson an that convention back in 1981. I present it to you in the interests of the historical record.

This super-team was created by my current Champions tabletop roleplaying group around 2008 or so.  It comprises Kabosh (a male demon who bonded with a good witch), Silverbolt (a speedster), Knightman (a power armored vigilante), Nemesis (a teleporting martial artist), the Black Enchantress (a sorceress), and Magic Marker (an artist who can reshape reality).  Kabosh and the Black Enchantress were originally villains that were turned to the heroic side by the Li family (a family of metahumans that ran an academy for heroes), while Knightman, Nemesis, and Magic Marker were all students at the academy.  Upon graduation, the heroes traveled to New York City and made their home base in Freeport (a fictional district of the city).  The campaign has been running for over a decade, although not consistently.  The heroes formed a super-team called The Punishers, owing to their harsher and more violent response to mystical, alien, mutant, and technological threats than four-color heroes (Knightman very much behaves more like the Punisher and Batman).
 
Silverbolt joined the team in 2015. She is my character, and was created for another group in 2013 that disbanded a year later.  Still, I had a fondness for that character so I brought her into the Punishers.  She's probably the most well-adjusted, least violent, and nicest member of the team besides Kabosh's host (who is now a federal agent).  Nemesis' player sadly passed away in January 2018, and I commissioned this piece to honor the history of the gaming group and to provide a permanent memory of all the characters.

A former 100-pound weakling, Trevor Corwin inherited Majestic's incredible strength.  He now fights crime as Strongarm.

majestic had a source of information that allowed him to perceive things happening so that he could move in and stop the crisis almost before it started. Kelly Twain inherited that source and started putting it to use as Blue Book

Harry Case was caught in an explosion caused by the Maine firing his cannon into a crowd by accident. He woke up in a weird hospital, covered in bandages. Then the doctors put Harry in a shell and asked him to do some work for them.  Harry went rogue, using his new shell to earn the name Hard Case.

Their wedding at the Prism Palace was the most celebrated occasion in the kingdoms history, but then tragedy struck. Daz and Yari opened a “gift” that ended up being from their most powerful enemy the High Priestess Auzil. They were struck with a curse of being “Forever Together” that merged them into one being. The couple despaired at first, but now heroically continue to fight the good fight while seeking a cure to the curse and to stop Auzil’s evil machinations once and for all.

For those who don't know Los Asesinos were in one of the rulebooks. 4th Edition Champions rules if I recall correctly.
 
Christian Hamwell was one of the beautiful people and a plastic surgeon so he could make other people beautiful. He did not care about the legality of his clients as long as he could improve them. His misfortune was to encounter Los Asesinos after a job. He took one look at The Maine and burst out laughing. The others did not think it was funny so Dr Hamwell was disfigured and his hands bashed in so that he could not continue work. It was reported that he was killed and Christian was furious. He lost everything. Now he wants revenge. Now he acts as the information broker and contact man for the group. They destroyed him, now he will destroy them. His new identity El Cubano

Daryl Ecks is the most cautious of the group and the one who, if he could, would return his power. For quite some time he did not know he had the power nor what it would do. Then he found himself pursued as he was detected and deemed to be carrying a power. Despite an attack when people tried to force him to reveal his secret and he could not, he remained anonymous. Until he saw episodes of Dr Who. The power seemed to respond to it. And then only when he said the magic word. The magic word 'Exterminate !'. This unleashes a volley of deadly energy. As far as Daryl was concerned things could not get worse but they did. When he realised that the targeting was similar and then he could hit a target more often than not. This is what really worries him. He does not like using his power but unfortunately it can be necessary for the group. Just don't tell The Human Dalek that.

If there was ever a wrong time and wrong place that was the fate of Melvin Thwarp. He was doing a deal with a bike gang when Los Asesinos turned up and the earth like one told the gang not to hurt his friends. The bikers ignored this request and opened fire resulting in a deluge of mud that caught Melvin out. He was knocked unconscious and subsequently drowned. Revived by accident he wants revenge for what happened to him. Beware of Wild Thang. He'll make your heart sing. He'll turn everything Gravy. Wild Thang
