    Metal Master

Re: Metal Master I really like the Metal Stabilizer idea, but I think I'd make it a part of the weapon or armor or whatever it's protecting te metel of. I don't think I need to go Megascale with it. He really isn't that binary. He does have TK Metals only and sense metals. Even if there isn't any metal in the area (Unlikely in any urban environment) the PCs carry enough of the stuff around to give him weapons in a fight. Grimble PS I'm not really looking to cancel him ot totally. Heck, it's easy to throw Grond at him. And he can still only attack one gun at a time. Just throw a dozen Viper agents with Blaster rifles at him. What I'm after are COOL ways to thwart him now and again. Every hero needs to get smacked down every now and then, but I want to mess with Metal Master in NEAT ways. He's got a cool set of powers, I want cool ways to break them.

    Metal Master

Re: Metal Master Ummm...who said his power was outside the campaign norms. I do not plan on making the player buy the power down. I'm looking for cool plot hooks, Ways to have complicated electronis without metal. Stuff like that. Grimble

  6. Re: Giant Airplanes The sub-orbital plane one of my players designed as the PC team transport was recently in Scientific America. The cover artical was about a sub-orbital troop transport that even looks exactly like the plane my player built. When he showed me the mag I thought he had had it printed up for the game! Grimble

    Metal Master

Re: Metal Master No. Not usually. But they do face powerful villians. He bought it this way at the beginning of the game. He just wanted to be able to convert any type of metal and at large amounts. I didn't realize what a headache it would be until I ran a couple of sessions... Grimble

    Metal Master

I am running a high powered Supers campaign. One of the characters is Metal Master. He was a rich kid from Wyoming who loved astronomy and had a brilliant mind. He went to college and got doctorates in Nuclear Physics and Astronomy. One night on his family ranch he observed a meteorite hit the Earth on his property. Upon investigation he found a chunk of, what looked like, nickle iron. He retrieved it from the crater and was surprised to find that it weighed less than what he expected. He took it back to his workshop and cut it open to see what it was made of... The last thing he remembers is seeing a liquid metal pour out of the meteor and climb up his arm. When he awoke his skin was covered in the alien metal. He now has Detect Metals as a sense (ranged and analitacal), Armor 20 PD/20 ED, TK (65 STR) only with metals, and Major Transform (Any metal to any other metal) 7d6. Since his transformation he has got another doctorate in Metalurgy. My question is...what would other GMs do with this powerhouse on the team? Most guns and powersuits are just toys to him. I have one major villian that has started shielding his stuff in a Power Defense force field, but this won't be feasible for most. What would you throw at a plot devouring PC like this? Grimble

  10. Re: Spanish Civil War Thank you for the altered history lesson and your english is actually pretty good. I can't wait for more. Grimble
  11. Re: Richest Man in the World Disease In the current campaign I am running there is one character that took 15 pts of wealth. He is Metal Master, who cam transmute any metal to ay other and can telekinetically control any metals. Not only has he created a large amount of valuable metals for himself, but he also converts dangerous radioactives into harmless metals for governments and companies. Totally acceptable for him to have vast wealth. The rest of the team took 1-2 pts of wealth, if any. When they were hired onto the super-team evryone gained $1,000,000/year as pay with the stipulation that they had to be available 24/7 to kick villian butt and/or save the world. I gave this free of charge. Basically, because I am running a high powered game and wanted to bring all the characters together at the super base (Also provided for free). Several of the characters have their own apartments in the campaign city, but need to be within a few minutes from the base in case of emergency. The point is. Wealth can be a good thing for superhero campaigns. Roll with it and embrace it. MY major problem is I have to scrap most of my powersuited villians because of the Metal Master's trasmutation powers. Ever see what happens the a powersuited villian after his suit turns to Murcury?!? Grimble

    Super Metals

There's Questionite, Adamantium, Vibranium, Cavorite... I want to hear about the super metals that have been developed in your game worlds. I have a PC in my game called Metal Master who can sense and manipulate metals and transform any metal to any other metal. I need a list of super metals he may be able to turn stuff into. Give me your Kaboomiums and your Unobtainiums! I'd also like a description of what the new metal can do. What properties make it super. If you have a cool background about how it was discovered, I'd love to make use of that, also. Grimble
  14. Re: Maps of Bases,Vehicles,Etc. Thanks for the help, Publius! If I do track down the thread, I'll let you know. Grimble
  15. I know I saw some links in another thread a while back, but I can't find it now. Can someone turn me pn to cool hex maps of bases, vehicles and the like? Grimble

  17. Re: Historical Nexus Points Nikola Tesla gets psychotherapy and is not so adverse to touching, afraid of birds, etc...He ends up marrying Westinghouse's daughter and has major backing for his company and experiments. Grimble
  18. Re: Historical Nexus Points Don't forget Arch-Duke Ferdinand, this assassination kicked off The Great War. Also, how about making sure Hitler does better in art school!

  20. Re: Heroes for HERO? I don't think Sylars "Know How Things Work" power works on metahumans. He didn't realize the he had the wrong cheerleader until he actually saw Claire healing in front of him. For that matter, we don't even know if he really needs the brains of his victims...He might just get the powers of metahumans that die. We just don't know, yet. On another subject...I think Hiro's powers are failing him because of confidence issues. His need for the sword could be like a "Dumbo's feather". He should probably be built with this Psych Lim. Grimble
  21. Re: Heroes for HERO? I think the hardest write up will be Sylar. His power absorbing through taking other metahumans brains is confounding me. I don't see a good mechanic in the HERO system. He seems to fall under the "plot device" umbrella. In strict rule terms, he'd be gaining major powers whenever he is able to kill another metahuman and take their brains. Hmmm... Maybe a Multipower, since he only seems to be able to use one power at a time. All ultra slots...this way, when he gains a new power, it would only cost a fraction of what the original power cost. What do others think of this solution to his power gaining power?
  22. Re: Heroes for HERO? I agree that she has some sort of resistance to pain. While baking with her mom, she took cupcakes out of the oven with no mitt. Her mom thought she smelled something burning. Claire didn't seem to be fazed at all. The Resistance Talent has a GM optional rule for resisting pain. In my game I'd just say that her high pain threshold is just a side-effect of her regeneration. No extra cost. Grimble
  23. Re: Mexican Vampires I sure will. I'm still working on most of the write-ups, but will keep you posted. Thanks for all of the suggestions!
