  1. Re: The Benchwarmers: Semi-super heroes Here are some of the Semi-Super heroes I've used as NPCs in various Champions games: 1. Blood-Eye: He could shoot blood from his tear ducts up to 3". This was a PRE ATT and very minor flash if he could hit the targets face. The PC supergroup actually hired him...He was also a great accountant. 2. The Amazing Burn: This guy was disturbed and disturbing! He had a really nice ED EB. He could shoot fire from the palms of his hands. The problem was that he was only partially immune to his own power. Whenever he used this power his hands burned and he was in EXTREME pain. Another problem. He was addicted to pain! He had Regen bought at 1 Body/min only for Fire Dam. He disturbed Heroes and Villians alike. 3. Bobby Snake-Eyes: This guy was average in everything. His Power: 10d6 Luck. Disad: 10d6 Unluck. 4. Meter-Man: Very minor, but most beloved hero in Madison,WI. He was a guy who drove around town on a suped-up moped. He wore a cape and mask and change belt. He had 10 CSL only to throw coins. Anytime he saw a car parked in a spot with an expired meter he would fling quarters into the meter as he drove past. Hunted by the city's Meter Maids! Feel free to use any and all of these. I'll add more later. Grimble
  2. Re: Normal-proofing your Bricks? I don't think (Only Against Real Humans) is what you want. What about a mutant with no physical powers? Aliens with comparable capabilities of a normal human? I know what you are after, but as a GM I'd tell the player that he probably wants to define the Limitation better. In some campaigns, I can see your Limitation working. In my game world, there are many types of beings that should be put under the blanket of this Limitation. Not just humans. I generally buy LOTS of stun and extra recovery for my Bricks. 44 Stun a Turn? So what. I have over 100 stun and recover 25, at least once a turn! Personally, If you plan on taking on other Bricks, you should be able to take what a "Super-Normal" can do to you. I have a "Super-Normal" in the group I run. He's got it bad enough already. What happens when he does NOTHING to half the Villians! Right now, the player is having fun playing up the hardships of being on a Superteam with no super powers (He does have at least 10X as many skills as anyone in the group). If I were to make him even MORE ineffective in combat I think he would just give up and make another superhero. That would be a bummer, since I love his Normal and have written a lot of plot around him. Just my $.02, Grimble
  3. Re: Top 10 List of the Lamest Superheroes of All Times I have a bunch of old E-Man comics. They are a guilty pleasure. Grimble
  4. Re: Amalgamation Hero, let's create new Heroes from old ones Doesn't look like people are into merging Storm and Ravager...Do you have another 2 heroes?
  5. Re: Science Skill for Spidey Genetics,Inventor,Chemisty,Electronics,Mechanics,Biochemistry,Organic Chemistry,Biology,Molecular Biology,Physics and probably Robotics just from checking out the ones he's fought over the years. Oh, yeah. Medice and Pharmacology.
  6. Re: Top 10 List of the Lamest Superheroes of All Times I love Tenzil Kem! His powers may not be up there with Superboy's, but they are useful. What is "lame" about being able to chew through most anything and also to be able to digest and fuel himself with whatever is around? I'd take those abilities in a sec. Grimble, Son of Arm Fall Off Boy!
  7. Re: Mexican Vampires I've seen the Rifts suppliment you mentioned, CasualPlayer (I used to work in a gaming store and read anything that looked interesting). If the PCs really botch everything, there might well end up being a Mexican Vampire Nation. For their sake, I hope they do at least a few things right. Grimble
  8. Re: Testing You have tested successfully! Good Job,Man! Grimble
  9. Re: Mexican Vampires Doesn't anyone have any suggestions for Mexican Super-Vampires? I got a lot of use out of the thread Lord Liaden pointed out, but I am looking for something more like John Carpenter's Vampires meets El Santo meets the X-Men. Can you feel me,folks? Grimble

    New Universal

Re: New Universal The one thing I liked about Scuz was that he came up with the Code Names for the DPs and was adamant about them using them. Grimble
  11. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) GURPS HERO Claymation HERO Stick-Figure HERO Talk Show HERO German Surrealist HERO Grimble
  12. Re: Mexican Vampires Nope. Just Mexican Vampires. Although, one of the Mexican Supers will be El Santo, Super-Luchadore! Grimble
  13. Re: Mexican Vampires Thank you, Lord Liaden! You have been Repped! Grimble
  14. Re: Grond, underpowered pansy? In my first encounter with Grond back in the early 90's Our Supers (250pt characters) mopped the floor with him. Our Mentalist Mind Controlled him into climbing into a bathtub for a bath. Once he was settled we all coordinated our biggest attacks on him at once. Once he was stunned out we threw a plugged in hairdryer into the tub to keep him stunned. Easy as pie! Grimble
  15. Re: Flavor Power for Brick A claw or bite HKA comes to mind. Or how about a lashing lions tail? Grimble
  16. Re: A question for the Super Scientists For my most recent Super-Genius Scientist/Jack of All Trades character I threw 50 active pts into my Base/Compound (250 pt). It had reasonable defences and security systems. Tons of labs and workshops. It even had a very heavily fortified lab for high-energy Physics and Extradimensional experiments. There was a hanger and a large motor pool as well (He had a vehicle pool as well as a gadget pool). I know it sounds like a lot, but I am a firm believer in the need for a good base and the group didn't want to pool points (at least at the beginning...They ended up throwing points into personal areas and new areas of the base once they saw how cool and useful it was). We started the game with 450 pts (300 base/150 disads). Even after 50 pts for the base, 50 pts for gadget pool and 25 pts for vehicle pool I had plenty of pts for skills, skills and more skills! 17. I am planning on having a small group of Mexican Superheroes contact my PCs for help with a vampire infestation in a number of villages. The situation is getting dire. Blah. Blah. Blah... The reason for the post is I would like suggestions on how to build vampires for a Supers game. I need a Vampire Lord, 2nd teir vamps turned by the Lord, and 3rd teir vamps turned by 2nd teir or lower vamps. Any and all help will be much appreciated! Grimble, Diabolical GM of Darkness!
  18. Re: The Powers of a Super-Butler "The Master would NOT be pleased": Mental Defense (Only against commands that would go against Masters wishes or endanger Master) LOTS of PRE to seem in charge even to those Cosmic-Level heroes visting the base or mansion. I think special combat training is a good idea. Alfred was a Brittish spy before working for the Waynes. Paramedics at 18- or more. The Butler's super-employer probably can't just go to the emergency room when he gets shot or gassed on patrol. Grimble
  19. Re: Give Me Your Best Ambush Bug! Thanks for the help, folks. I like what you've given me, so far. Don't worry. I plan on using this character for a one-shot comic book spoof. I won't be overusing him. Grimble
  20. Re: Good-by Brick Lets start with the most obvious... Mind Control:Protect Me! or Beat-Up Member of Your Team That You Have the Most Problems With! or Go Beat-Up Political/Religious Figure You Hate! They usually buy up the PRE, but INT and EGO are usually neglected by most Bricks. Don't overplay the Mentalist card, but it is a major comic book trope to have the big tough hero mind controlled by a clever villian. Grimble
  21. Re: Feeling Charitable: Plot Hooks Throw Menagerie into the game. A eco-terrorist style supervillianess who can shape-change into any animal. There are any number of animal charities out there. She could show up at an animal testing lab protest with more than protesting on her mind. So many possibilities... Grimble
  22. For any and all people who know who Ambush Bug is and are proficiant at writing up Champions characters. I put out the call! I want to introduce a charcter very similar to the Ambush Bug into my game. I'd like inspiration or a full write up, if you are so inclined. I'll be building the best Ambush Bug I can from the posts. Thanks in advance, Grimble
  23. Re: Wht did your Champion get for the holidays? Jack "Crash" Parker got a Mansion next door to his employer. His employer is a filthy rich business man who has the spirit of an Arthurian Knight who was written out of the histories inside him. He can summon a magic sword and magic armor. He is a superhero. He is also a bit of a coward and hired Jack to be his bodyguard/team member for $10,000/day. The Mansion has a Trouble Alert for the bosses mansion and a tunnel connecting them. Just one of the many perks for working for one of the worlds richest men.
  24. Re: Bad Powers Stretching (Legs only). I'm thinking along the lines of the Stilt Men from Spider-Man, only biological. Grimble;)
